There are two Microsoft updates that has caused a very important program to stop working. I have identified the two that caused the problem, however they cannot be removed per the Microsoft message that once installed they cannot be removed. Please, is there another way I can remove them so I can get my program up and running?

I went to uninstall a program, and it failed. tried to install a program and it failed. Did windows updates, selected about 10 or so, most installed ok, but three failed. I created a new administrator-level account [the system has only had one in its history, the main/only I have ever used], tried to logon for the first time, and it failed.This system is on a LAN [wifi bridged AP] and is a Homegroup owner, but it is not on a Domain.

I want to uninstall a program off my laptop. It's not showing up in the uninstall programs list so I presume it's hidden for some reason (The program is First Class - according to the applications website the removal route is through add & remove programs).
I know in XP there is an file which shows all installed programs and some have the word hidden at the beggining of the file name, which keeps the program name out of add & remove - I presume the same is true of Windows 7?

After our install every thing seems to work fine computers are set in network and login to server windows 2003, get mail from exchange 2003. and get windows updates from the server 1 day in the week, for the updates we aprove in the windows update service on the server.
but some how the 10x 64bits windows 7 machines dont hold themselfs to update shedul from ones a week from the server, on the client you can't adjust the settings for updating because its locked from out the server but it will update every day if needed we have 3x 32bits windows 7 machines who dont have this problem, the rest of our machines run on windows XP.
the updating shedule isn't a big problem but every time we get an update the programs we use wont work any more they fail in starting up especialy Autocad and Office 2007 wont start Outlook starts up and runs but when we open an other mail then where the program starts in the program fails to work and we have to force it to close reboot the machine 1-5 times to get the programs working, after that it works perfect till a next update from windows
When I restored my Windows 7 64bit. After that I was unable to uninstall game what I had uninstalled long time ago. I get some kind error when I try, well here isn't any folder of that game on my HDD. But still my Windows 7 shows like I have that game still installed on PC, anyway to remove it?

This systems is a SLI750i mother board, 8GB ram, 2 - 9600 nividia vid cards, intel Core 2 extreme @ 3ghz. Using on-board sound.
Computer 1: Windows 2000 Pro. Drivers are all updated. Connection to router is normal (as in web pages load, for example).
Computer 2: Just updated to Windows 7 RC x86. Drivers are all updated. connection to router is normal (as in web pages load, for example).
Router is Linksys and DSL is pretty generic SBC/AT&T with filter on phone line.
Running an MMO (World of Warcraft) on both computers. This has never been an issue before. Since the update, computer 2 when attempting to log in is getting most of the way then failing and disconnecting. Trying to debug that on the MMO end, but the odd part is that it is killing the connection computer 1 has at the same time. This never happened when Computer 2 had Windows 2000 Pro or Windows XP installed - only since upgrading to Windows 7 this morning.
I'm about to try giving Computer 2 a static IP - something it has never had - but is there anything else specific to Windows 7 that I might want to check?

I want to uninstall the pack so that I can do a system repair using my disc because my disc is older than the service pack. However, the service pack doesn't show up on the programs list. If I try to uninstall by looking at windows update or the command prompt I get an error message that says:
Installer encountered an error: 0x80073712
The component store has been corrupted.
I have already done a sfc file checker thing through the command prompt, and it said that some files were corrupted, and I couldn't access the log (access denied). I'm currently running the 64 bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium. I obtained the log from the sfc scan. [URL]
For several months I have had problems each day when asked to install "Windows Updates", some days I get 4 or 5 updates or more, for a long time it installed all except one. This has now expanded so I have three updates that will not install for some reason. It creates a restore point then tries and fails each time. I am using Norton Antivirus and have even disabled that, but I still can get the updates to install. I have never had this problem before. I also have a laptop and another PC computer that has done these updates, so why problems with this one? For a couple days now, I haven't been able to update Avast or Windows Update. I tried reinstalling Avast but it did not work. I have tried everything. I scanned my PC with every major malware program but they don't detect anything. What should I do? I'm too scared to reinstall Windows 7. However, I will if I need too. I also want to format my disk in the process. How could I do this? Also, I am scared that I wont be able to find the drivers I need for my GPU and such if I reinstall and format my disk. For error code 800B0100 it was recommended that I install the system update readiness tool. I tried to install but I was unable to. For error code 80246007 it was recommended that I change or restart the Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS). I am still unable to to install these two updates.

Since then, we have found that we can't open any non-Windows inherit programs. I figured updating all the windows updates, but i'm unable to. I keep getting error code 800B0100 when I try to DL them. I get the x64 Windows Readiness Tool download. I downloaded that and even that has failed to install. I'm not sure what the issue is.

Windows Update reports that Administrator Permissions are needed, However I AM the Administrator and AM logged in as the Administrator.

I've tried all the trouble shooters and the update readiness tool, I've sought and received advice from windows answers to no avail, 14 days ago it did allow some updates but now its insists that IE9 on IE is not downloaded when I can see it is and all the time I keep getting Error Codes 80073712 and 9C48 , I've attempted and failed on at least 21 times now and every time it looks like it may make it but then it fails.

It turns on with some beeping noises and then is just stuck on a black screen where I can move the mouse cursor around to my hearts content but cannnot do anything else as it doesn't boot any further. I am not sure if I still have the windows disc as I upgraded from vista many a moon ago but it maybe here somewhere.It doesn't give me the option to run in safe mode, do any sort of system repair or go to the BIOS screen due to the fact it doesn't boot up that far.

View 8 Replies View RelatedFirst I told her she needs to clear out some space of all her homemade videos.Then I wanted to go into Add Remove programs but every time I go in it freezes. I even tried it in safe mode but it seems to freeze up even more. I ran cCleaner which cleaned over 1000 MB. I ran SuperAntispyware which found nothing. I tried to run Malwarebytes but it froze after 2 minutes. I took some items out of start up but there are a ton of Toshiba programs listed, but I have no idea if they are necessary or not. Some items I am not sure if she needs or not: Blekko Anti Phishing Domain Advisor Every time I attempt something now her laptop freezes and I have to reboot.I can't even go into Task Manager to stop Malwarebytes or Add Remove Programs when they freeze.
