Jan 27, 2011I was trying to relocate some of my personal data folders in my User Profile folder (My Music, My Videos, My Pictures). I right clicked on the folder, selected "Properties" and then selected the "Location" tab from the two rows of tabs. I set the location to my D drive (non-system drive). Clicked "Apply" and "OK". A My Music folder already existed on this drive. Got the prompts for "Do you want to move the files in this folder to the new location? (clicked Yes)" That worked for the My Music folder. Then I tried My Pictures folder... same right click, Properties, Location. Set the path to my P drive where I had an already existing My Pictures folder.
Got the same prompts for "Do you want to move the files in this folder to the new location? (clicked Yes)" Then I got a warning message that said "Unable to copy folder where one already exists (or some verbage similar to that)". So I tried it again. Nothing. Closed out of all folders and then reopened to try again. When I right clicked on My Pictures in my User Profile and selected properties, there was just a single row of tabs with no Location tab. There was no way to change the path of the folder. ??? Puzzling. So I am looking for a way to repair the User Profile folder and reenable the Location tab on the folder properties. Just did a clean install last night

Nov 23, 2009I have a new Windows 7 Pro 64, and Windows detects a Samsung 4828FN 3in1 printer and a Canon LIDE 80 scanner in "Devices & Printers" but appears to be unable to find drivers. I downloaded & installed Win 7 drivers from both mfg sites, but neither appears in their appropriate windows when called up. The scanner on the printer works and saves to files, so I know the USB connections are working. Canon Toolbox Settings cannot detect.
Of course the HP 1000 printer has no Win 7 drivers to download, so that one does not work either,
Also, when I try and select new printers from a "Print" drop-down menu, I get a message "The Active Directory Domain Sevices is Currently Unavailable"
Anyone have suggestions?

Aug 22, 2011I regularly activate Windows Mail on Win-7 for myself and my customers who are used to Outlook Express 6 and like it. I know how to migrate the address book from OE6 to Windows Mail but I can't seem to find the actual EMail folders in Win-7, Windows Mail. In OE6 they are *.dbx files and are easy to find, copy and migrate to the new PC. Now I have a friend who is running Vista with Windows Mail but he hates Vista and wants me to install Windows 7 for him. I have no problem activating Windows Mail in Win-7, but he'll want his old email folders and I don't know how and where to find them?
