View 4 Replies View RelatedFirst, I tried to get Outlook 2010 to see my .dbx folders from Outlook Express, it wouldn't.I then migrated my OE mail to WLM. I then tried to both export my mail to Outlook 2010 and Import from Outlook 2010. When importing, Outlook only saw the welcome mail message but didnt see anything else.I should add that I copied my old (2007 Outlook.pst) file into Outlook 2010's store directory. I am not sure if this is why I am unable to import my mail.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs it just me or are you not able to import accounts into Live Mail. I have just done a fresh install for Win 7 RTM (was on RC) and I exported my mail accounts beforehand using Live Mail using the export option from the menu. However, upon reinstalling there is no import options for accounts only Messages?? Why have an export option without having an import option... Is there a way around this.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been downloading pictures to Facebook, Walgreens, and Shutterfly for 3 years with no problems. All of a sudden I can not upload any pictures! I had no difficulties downloading them from my memory card to my computer and I can view them just fine. When I go to upload them it will let me select the pictures I want and start the process, but then just keep "loading" or "thinking" for hours if I would let it. It will not upload even one photo.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a problem getting Media Center to display my Photos showing the individual photos contents of each folder.I am running Windows 7 HP 64 bit with all updates. My MEDIA (movies, music & photos) are on a separate hdd (M). Each of the media formats has it's own folder on the M drive, Movies, Music & Photos. I have no problem with the movies or the music. However, when I choose "pictures" in Windows Media Center only the individual photos folders are shown....no photos are shown in these folders. I see the individual folders but no contents. I have set up "Libraries" on the C: drive; Music, Video & Photos. When I click on photos in the "Libraries" all the photos folders are show each with it's own photos. I have "Shared" these libraries as well as each folder on the Media drive M. The format of the individual photos is jpg. I have run SFC/Scannow.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been using my parents computer for the last few months and decided to make my own user/log-in the other day. After doing so, I cut/pasted my photos folder into my new user directory (or whatever, I'm not very techie..). I have thousands of photos, my BF is a photographer, and I can view most of them. However, in one particular folder 90% of them aren't viewable! Says I don't have permission... When I log back into parents windows, I can see the photos in my directory (as they are no longer located in theirs) but there are little gold padlocks on the ones I cannot see on my log-in. I've tried changing permissions, ownership, you name it.. I've looked for help on line and tried everything. The only thing that seems to work is if I right click on each individual photo and change things that way.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just connected my DV camera to Win 7 and discovered that the only format that Win 7's Import Video utility will import to is AVI. There does not appear to be any format option other than AVI (which are HUGE). What happened to WMV? It was there in Vista?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI absolute dont like the way Win 7 behaves, when connecting a camera.
In XP, I could choose which pictures to import, and give them names, and XP would number them for me, for instance import into C:Pictures2009, and the pictures would be named 2009 001.jpg and so on.
Now I dont understand how to do it, and if I have imported some pictures, I'm not allowed to do it again. WHAT???
Why should Windows 7 decide if I can import my pictures again, what if I delete a picture by mistake?
Is there a way to make it work like in "the good old days"?
I found 4 duplicates of every picture / video in explorer that was imported from my camera's sd card.
I deleted them all from my pc. The I re-ran the rebuild index option. It appears to finish. Emptied recycle bin prior. Rebooted pc.

I have no passord on my pc - took it off to see if that would work. Didn't help. I moved it under my user name to see if that would help. It hasn't. Please...any suggestions as my downloads etc for Security software, other downloads, are stored in my email folders.
I have just installed Win 7 and have tried to import my backed up Outlook Express files to Windows Live Mail. It appears towork ok but even though I have seen the folders copied in the import tool, i cannot see all the folders in WLM.
Any ideas folks?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI tried the other night to import some holiday movies and soundclips into Windows 7. The device I used to capture the data was a samsung omnia running windows 6.1, and the sound clips were recorded as MP3 and .wav files.
The Video is a wmp (wave) file.
When I double click, the WMP booted up for the video and then nothing.
I restarted, and tried again. this time, the blue progress circle spun but nothing else happened.
At some point there was a codec error message.
I still find it difficult to think that at least they would have tried to make their own systems work with each other, even at beta! (hotmail is rubbish on WM, yu'd hav thought that there'd be a mobile version). Can anyone shed some light on this?
I got Office 2007 Ultimate/W7U reinstalled on my new build and all of the Office programs and data transferred fine except with Outlook data Contacts/Calandar/Email & Settings, etc. I had to manually export the OneNote data to the new install but don't see anything like that for Outlook. How do import this data into Outlook?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a couple of different (make) cameras and on my old computer with XP I imported them to the computer using the software that came with each camera. Since getting the new computer with Windows 7 I haven't bothered to load the various software and chose to use the Windows importer. However, I just realized that when I do it this way the Windows importer default setting is to (rename) renumber them starting at 1 with each new import and put them into a new folder by date. Having realized this, I changed the import settings to keep the original camera file number. I then removed those imported pictures to the recycle bin.
Next I attempted to import the pictures once again from my camera using the new setting. However, the computer won't allow it, saying there are no pictures detected in the device. The default setting is to only import new pictures. How/where to override the 'only import new pictures' setting in the computer so I can import my pictures a second time? There are a lot and retrieving them from the recycle bin and renaming them all is going to be a lot of time-consuming work that I don't want to tackle unless it is the only option.
I'm having trouble with the importing pictures wizard which I tend to use for simplicity and ease of use.
In XP, I used to be able to select which pictures I wanted to import from my camera card but now I cannot find how to do so and so I need to download all of them together meaning that I may need to run the wizard several times if I have different subjects on the one card and then go back to delete the photos wrongly named.
Second issue is that it will not close without forcing a closure from Taks Manager.
Is it me or is it a prolem with 7?
I'm currently running build 7100.
For many years now I've had a custom sound scheme where every event caused a different carefully chosen .wav from "2001: A Space Odyssey" to play. For example, Critical Stop would cause Hal to say "Just a moment", a new IM would have Hal say "there is a message for you" , when the system is shutting down Hal will say " I know that you and Frank have been planning to disconnect me and that's something I just can't allow to happen" , etc. (BTW, anyone who wants the set of .wav files please let me know).
Now, I could, of course, tediously compare all the settings from XP and duplicate them in Windows 7. But, that would not be elegant. I'm trying to figure out if the registry settings for sound schemes in XP are compatible with Windows 7, and if so, where are they in Windows 7?

Now I have to figure if I like it or not.
