Dec 27, 2012I have a new computer (Asus K53E) with Win 7 x64 - My camera is a Canon SD 750, and I'd like to use Photo Scape to work with my pics, not the Canon browser or the Windows Photo Gallery. So I've set my photos to import via Windows in Auto Play, and to auto delete afterward. The problem I'm seeing is that once the photos are imported into my computer and deleted from the camera, the little Windows pop up box that notifies me of the deleting process stays on the screen - it will not disappear until I either use Task Manager to stop it, or I reboot the computer. I really would like to continue using the simple and effective Windows process to import my camera's pics, and to continue using Photo Scape as my photo browser/editor.

Nov 18, 2011I have a problem getting Media Center to display my Photos showing the individual photos contents of each folder.I am running Windows 7 HP 64 bit with all updates. My MEDIA (movies, music & photos) are on a separate hdd (M). Each of the media formats has it's own folder on the M drive, Movies, Music & Photos. I have no problem with the movies or the music. However, when I choose "pictures" in Windows Media Center only the individual photos folders are shown....no photos are shown in these folders. I see the individual folders but no contents. I have set up "Libraries" on the C: drive; Music, Video & Photos. When I click on photos in the "Libraries" all the photos folders are show each with it's own photos. I have "Shared" these libraries as well as each folder on the Media drive M. The format of the individual photos is jpg. I have run SFC/Scannow.

May 16, 2012I've been using my parents computer for the last few months and decided to make my own user/log-in the other day. After doing so, I cut/pasted my photos folder into my new user directory (or whatever, I'm not very techie..). I have thousands of photos, my BF is a photographer, and I can view most of them. However, in one particular folder 90% of them aren't viewable! Says I don't have permission... When I log back into parents windows, I can see the photos in my directory (as they are no longer located in theirs) but there are little gold padlocks on the ones I cannot see on my log-in. I've tried changing permissions, ownership, you name it.. I've looked for help on line and tried everything. The only thing that seems to work is if I right click on each individual photo and change things that way.

I mounted a Vista x64 ISO-image/source, extracted the folder with the canon printer drivers and installed the Colorpass Z40e driver under Windows 7 x64. In my case I used this driver für a Canon Colorpass Z400e (Canon CLC 1100).
Extraxct :
- use 7zip
- under options check "wim"
- open the install.wim an verify your vista version (important if there is a 64bit and 32 bit version on the same DVD, in my case there was only a 64bit on the systembuilder DVD)
- choose the right folder and extract the canon printer driver folder with 7zip

Canon LiDe 80 And Canon PIXMA IP4000 Problem
Nov 8, 2009Upgraded desktop to 64-bit and discovered that my Canon LiDe80 and Canon PIXMA iP4000 drivers are incompatible. So after some research and not sure how accurate, I read that the professional version would allow more of the 32-bit drivers to work.
Is that correct?
No Video Import To WMV
Jan 6, 2010I just connected my DV camera to Win 7 and discovered that the only format that Win 7's Import Video utility will import to is AVI. There does not appear to be any format option other than AVI (which are HUGE). What happened to WMV? It was there in Vista?

Sep 17, 2009I absolute dont like the way Win 7 behaves, when connecting a camera.
In XP, I could choose which pictures to import, and give them names, and XP would number them for me, for instance import into C:Pictures2009, and the pictures would be named 2009 001.jpg and so on.
Now I dont understand how to do it, and if I have imported some pictures, I'm not allowed to do it again. WHAT???
Why should Windows 7 decide if I can import my pictures again, what if I delete a picture by mistake?
Is there a way to make it work like in "the good old days"?

Nov 10, 2009I found 4 duplicates of every picture / video in explorer that was imported from my camera's sd card.
I deleted them all from my pc. The I re-ran the rebuild index option. It appears to finish. Emptied recycle bin prior. Rebooted pc.
Inserted SD card and still getting "no new pictures or videos to import" message.

Oct 25, 2009I backed up all files to an external hard drive. Had Windows 7 installed, and have tried a number of ways to import or open the data file/ pst back into Outlook 2003. I was getting a lot of 'it can't find the file' to now 'that I don't have the permissions to open it'.

Apr 26, 2009I tried the other night to import some holiday movies and soundclips into Windows 7. The device I used to capture the data was a samsung omnia running windows 6.1, and the sound clips were recorded as MP3 and .wav files.
The Video is a wmp (wave) file.
When I double click, the WMP booted up for the video and then nothing.
I restarted, and tried again. this time, the blue progress circle spun but nothing else happened.
At some point there was a codec error message.
I still find it difficult to think that at least they would have tried to make their own systems work with each other, even at beta! (hotmail is rubbish on WM, yu'd hav thought that there'd be a mobile version). Can anyone shed some light on this?

Aug 29, 2011I have a couple of different (make) cameras and on my old computer with XP I imported them to the computer using the software that came with each camera. Since getting the new computer with Windows 7 I haven't bothered to load the various software and chose to use the Windows importer. However, I just realized that when I do it this way the Windows importer default setting is to (rename) renumber them starting at 1 with each new import and put them into a new folder by date. Having realized this, I changed the import settings to keep the original camera file number. I then removed those imported pictures to the recycle bin.
Next I attempted to import the pictures once again from my camera using the new setting. However, the computer won't allow it, saying there are no pictures detected in the device. The default setting is to only import new pictures. How/where to override the 'only import new pictures' setting in the computer so I can import my pictures a second time? There are a lot and retrieving them from the recycle bin and renaming them all is going to be a lot of time-consuming work that I don't want to tackle unless it is the only option.
Import Pictures Wizard
Aug 31, 2009I'm having trouble with the importing pictures wizard which I tend to use for simplicity and ease of use.
In XP, I used to be able to select which pictures I wanted to import from my camera card but now I cannot find how to do so and so I need to download all of them together meaning that I may need to run the wizard several times if I have different subjects on the one card and then go back to delete the photos wrongly named.
Second issue is that it will not close without forcing a closure from Taks Manager.
Is it me or is it a prolem with 7?
I'm currently running build 7100.
Import XP Sound Scheme
Nov 24, 2009For many years now I've had a custom sound scheme where every event caused a different carefully chosen .wav from "2001: A Space Odyssey" to play. For example, Critical Stop would cause Hal to say "Just a moment", a new IM would have Hal say "there is a message for you" , when the system is shutting down Hal will say " I know that you and Frank have been planning to disconnect me and that's something I just can't allow to happen" , etc. (BTW, anyone who wants the set of .wav files please let me know).
Now, I could, of course, tediously compare all the settings from XP and duplicate them in Windows 7. But, that would not be elegant. I'm trying to figure out if the registry settings for sound schemes in XP are compatible with Windows 7, and if so, where are they in Windows 7?
