I recently upgraded to IE9 and I am absolutely appaled at the interface. The changes in it remind me of why I usually hate upgrading my software in the first place. To get to the point: Is there any way to restore some or all of the interface of IE7/8? Items of note that I'd like to alter include:Restoring the Favorites menu to the left side of the page.Having the convienent small Google search bar on the right side, as opposed to the full on Google toolbar which requires its own row.Ensuring tabs are on the bottom of any and all toolbars, instead of forced to be right under the address bar.My biggest problem is that the only way to get a convienent search bar is to have it BELOW the tabs. I tried unlocking the toolbars and trying to move them (as has been possible in the past), but it was impossible to move them. They simply refused to change location.
So yesterday in the early AM's I was browsing my internet and all the sudden, bam.i lost my internet. No reason at all, it just happened. This is only my computer, everything else works fine (If internet is out, our TV's don't work)When I go to my little internet icon in the taskbar, it says Unidentified Network and I have no internet access what so ever. When I run CMD and use ipconfig /release I get this:"An error occurred while releasing interface Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1 : The system cannot find the file specified."I also got this error before:"An error occurred while releasing interface Local Area Connection : An address has not yet been associated with the network endpoint." Tech support kept telling me to use ipconfig /flushdns but whenever I entered it into CMD it gave me an error saying something along the lines of "command unrecognized" I cannot give you guys the full text of what CMD says since it's on a different computer.I am using a direct ethernet cord, not wireless.
* ipconfig /release and /renew and /flushdns * Turn off firewall * Update and Reinstall Driver * Restarting my modem/router * Restarting my computer * Unplugging my ethernet cord and replugging it (also leaving it unplugged over-night) * Manually assigning the 12 code I'm assuming IP
I have been using accronis 2011 for a long while, cloning the c drive to a d drive every Saturday. For the first time I had cause to restore the clone on d to c driveI believed that acroniss clone made an exact copy of a drive to another. Since I did this I can't get into windows explore, my computer or any of the right hand sde of the start screen, programs are no problem.. When I try to get in I get the meassage " No such interace supported"
I plugged in my HDMI cable to my laptop. I get only video, without sound. I discovered that i have to select the S/PDIF settings. BUT, i only see the "speaker" settings. I have selected and deselected the "show disabled devices", to no avail. What am i doing wrong? I am trying to get the sound to play through my HDMI cable. I have googled this problem and found solutions with all of them being that i have to select the S/PDIF...and i don't even have it listed as an option and no way of knowing how i can get it to show up.
I just turned on my sony vaio laptop that runs windows 7 home premium and when I try to run any type of application, it shows an error saying "No such interface supported" I've tried everything in the forum and nothings working. I can't get into regedit.exe to fix the registry and the error pops up when i try to do a recovery, and also I don't have a back up. The weird thing is that it can run programs through other ways. I was able to open itunes by manually clicking a song, and I had to manually turn on my wireless hardware to get internet connection.
I uninstalled a couple of toolbars for Firefox the other day using the Uninstaller in Advanced System Care 5. I think it was the Power Clean utility which has caused the problem. Now I cant access any of my folders or shortcuts on my desktop or in the Start Menu (Control Panel, My Computer, Documents etc.) the msg 'no such interface supported' pops up. The USB connections are not working either. All non windows programs are working fine such as Mozilla, Bit Torrent, Picasa and Wifi. Do I need to reinstall Windows 7to fix the problem and will reinstalling Windows wipe all my data of my hard drives? I returned the computer to the previous restore point but it had no effect

My samsung 830 120GB SSD arrived today. I plugged it into my thinkpad as an external drive using the provided adaptor, and used Norton Ghost to copy the entire drive onto the SSD. I then installed my SSD into the laptop and booted.Firstly, I get the "Preparing your desktop" screen which hangs for about 3 mins. Then I have nothing but a blue screen with the build number in the corner and a message saying Windows is not genuine. I started explorer.exe from task manager and got a start menu, but when I try to open control panel, my computer etc I get the error message "No such interface supported".
After my computer was infected with virus but i got it removed with my anti virus. However after that incident some of my files won't open such as internet explorer, fire fox and some other files. when I try to click on these files it either gave me the message " no such interface supported" or nothing happen at all.
I thought I would give windows 7 a go about a week ago on my Home system and loved it so much I've decided to install on my "carpc" that's fitted in my Toyota Hilux
The install seemed to go well just like it did on my Home system, with even the touch screen being found, only problem I could not get it to Calibrate very precise.
One thing I noticed right away was Windows 7 seems to have a built in Touch Screen interface that only shows the options to when it knows a Touch screen is present, for example you can scroll about in word docs, or internet explorer just by placing your finger anywhere on the screen rather than the little bar on the right you normally have to use which can be hard on a 7" touch screen.
There is a better on screen keyboard that pops out when needed if using the touch screen, also the cursor changes to a small dot rather than a mouse cursor, but changes back as soon as you move the mouse. I'm sure there are other features I not had chance to find yet.
My only problem now is due to me not being able to calibrate the screen as good as normal I decided to install the Software/drivers from the screen manufacture, I used the Vista version which worked well, and now the screen is calibrated perfectly.
The problem is now windows 7 has taken away all the touch screen options in the control panel, plus all the above features I said no longer happen
Any idea how I can get them back while still maintaining my manufactures driver/software?
Few weeks ago I bought an external audio interface Focusrite Saffire PRO 24 DSP. It's a firewire hardware and while using it I ocasionally get BSOD. Tried using it with both enabled and disabled onboard realtek chip but that does not solve the problem. I installed the newest software/drivers provided by Focusrite but the problem still exists.OS: Windows 7 Professional x64 CPU: Phenom II X4 945Motherboard: ASUS M4A89GTD-PRO/USB3 Memory: 2x2GB GoodRAM 1333MHz Graphics: GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 560 Ti Sound Card: Focusrite Saffire PRO 24 DSP Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster BX2240 Resolution: 1920x1080Hard Drives: Western Digital:WD3200YSWD20EARSWD6400AACS PSU: Chieftec GPS-650A Case: Fractal Design Define R3 Mouse: Logitech G700
My netbook was shipped with a Russian (or Ukrainian) interface language in Windows 7. I would much like to switch it to English. I was looking for MUI files (I think), but could find for just about any language but English. On a forum I found a link to this tool [1] which was supposed to achieve just this, but failed. Where should I look for language files that would allow me to have the Win 7 interface in English?
I want to watch videos on NFL.com but i have poor quality, i tried downloading Akamai NetSession Interface as told by NFL.com but when i click where im told i get a message telling me to click on the download box but there is no download box. Does anyone know of a link where i can download it? being i cant seem to find one anywhere on Akamai's website
The tower of my computer has a Media Control Center at the top, it's kind of like a mini touchscreen, i think it's called Media Navigation Interface. heres a link to the PC This thing has been bothering me for the past couple of years i've owned this PC, when accidently pressed with my knee it sometimes goes nuts and repeatedly goes back to previous pages on firefox, 80% of the buttons don't work so i never use i
I have an ASUS laptop which used to have a recovery partition. I used a function to make recovery DVDs and proceeded to format the partition.Well now Windows won't boot. I attempted to use my recovery DVDs but after taking 10-15 minutes to boot it loads to a screen with a graphic (wallpaper) and stays there. It doesn't tell me to load the next disk, it doesn't give me any kind of menu, does not accept any kind of input (including ctrl-alt-del).
I have just picked up my custom build computer with windows 7 home premium x64. I installed a driver for my recording interface (lexicon Omega) so it can work with my music production software which is Reaper. Once i open reaper and create a new track, as soon as i go to arm the record button, a BSOD comes up. after i restart my computer, everytime i open Reaper my PC crashes with the same BSOD. I did a system restore and tried reinstalling the driver but the same problem persisted.
More info:
The BSOD message says: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
PC Specs: AMD FX 6100 8GB Ram ATI HD6850 Gigabyte 990FX
I uninstall MSXML 4.0 SP3 Parser and clean half of it registry and now every time I click personalization the error message come up. those stuffs with cmd is not working since I believe my registry is not broken but deleted. I can't restore it.this message so far only occur when I click 'Screen Resolution' and 'Personalization' from desktop. but then, some click-able thing became unresponsive, such as the dialog box from IDM, when I clicked 'open in folder' it would usually open, but now it's not. and when I tried to create a new user, I can't. I click the button but it just not working.
I've recently installed a Kingston SSD and did a clean install of Windows 7 Professional 32 bit. It runs well most of the time, but once or twice a day, usually when browsing the internet using Chrome or Firefox, the mouse pointer will go to the "busy" circle, and the program will stop responding. When it does this, I can't click on any other programs on the taskbar or use ALT-TAB to switch to another program.he mouse moves, but I can't interact with anything. If I'm playing music with Spotify in the background, or video chatting on Skype, they still run in the background, the skype video for the recipient doesn't even freeze. So it seems that all the programs are running, but my user interface stops working properly.
I am wondering if it is possible to turn off the MDI on the Windoes 7 task bar? When I have an application like Photoshop open and loads of documents open they all appear in the TOC. If you want to jump between apps quickly via alt-tab you can't because you have to tab through all the documents. Anyone know where the setting is to turn it off? Ideally I'd like to have some button on the desktop perhaps that will turn it on and off depending on the user and there preference.
I have my netbook connected to router. But sometimes i need to connect it by ethernet port to copy some big files quickly. In this case i had to turn my wi-fi connection off by hand. Can i tune my windows 7 so this swithing from wi-fi to ethernet port goes automatically. And switch back to wi-fi after disconnect cable?
I've found threads that were similiar, but the suggested solutions are not working for me. What screenshots and information do youdetermine why I can't get 7 to even see that there's a named network it's connected to?
I have been giving Voiceovers a go and have been told that I need both my Alesis Miser as well as an Digital Audio Interface. My Mixer has a built in preamp and plugs directly into my computer by the use of an USB cord. My Alesis Mixer also has two XLR ports for my Studio Condensor Mic. But I am told the outcome is not as clear as it would be if I now ran out and purchased an Digital Audio Interface and/or a better sound card. The Sound card I am using is merely the ON-BOARD sound card that came with the machine.
Have the UEFI Option in the boot menu of the ASUS K42F notebook. Regrettably, boot to USB is not an apparent option. Have emailed Asus support and the reply demonstrated no knowledge of the feature. There is an option that allows the entry of "command line" entries. The setup utilities are from American Megatrends (AMI).
Very slow operations like Start button, start an application, switch between windows. Sometimes stalls completely. Sometimes freezes so I have to go with power button. When inside an application - not so bad. I am having this PC second hand for about a year, getting worse gradually. AVG antivirus and tuneup say all is fine.
It happens to most games I play that makes my fan really loud. When that happens my laptop seems to heat up a bit and i get either Black or White screen. Then i have to force shut down my computer with the power button. I can't seem to get the system health report to work, I get "Error: An error occured while attempting to generate the report. The interface is unknown"
I will be the first to admit that when it comes to drivers etc, I'm not an authority or really a person with a great deal of knowledge etc.
I have a Lexmark x342n All in One printer (print/copy/fax) and have not used it for quite some time as I just use the university printers. However with university being on holidays I was hoping to use the scanner however, now that I have Windows 7 (I used to use Windows XP) everything but the Scanner Interface has a driver for it when I plugged it in.
I have tried on the Lexmark site and used the drivers there however these all create a new printer in my control panel -> printers area that does not print at all, yet the printer that appears in the same area when Windows 7 automatically installed drivers upon plugin will print but not scan. When I try and find a driver for the Scanner Interface it just says that "device driver did not install properly"
I have a problem with my control panel, when I go to it and like click on windows update or uninstall a program or restore files from back up or any of these programs, they don't pop up. So I am wondering what to do? And I also have a problem where I can't right click on the desktop and click screen resolution or personalize. It just pops up with "Explorere.EXE: No such interface supported" I am running Windows 7 64 bit on a HP Pavilion.
Can you really speed up Windows by simplifying the Windows7 / Vista Interface? If so what would you need to do make the entire windows have a bland, Windows95 look ?
