Sound System Not Working In Only Windows 7?
Oct 25, 2012I am using Windows 7 professional OS... and i got some problem with my sound system..
But when I rebooted my system with Backtrack OS.. I could listen the startup sound. and nothing other than that. As it is a live OS I am using,i didn't install any media players.. so couldn't check other sounds in Backtrack...
but in windows i couldn't even hear the startup.. I 've tried reinstalling the sound drivers. But it was of no use..
No Sound Or System Sounds Working?
Jan 8, 2013Just recently I have not been able to get sound on my computer (All In One Desktop). Neither sound nor system sounds. I believe it started when I started plugging in my earphones into the jack. I can hear sounds (movies, video) and I can also hear the system sounds. When I unplug the earphones from the jack, there is no sound. I have tried all the website links on how to fix it, I've looked to make sure nothing is muted. I just find it odd that my sounds work fine through earphones

I have tried them on my laptop and they work fine.Does anybody know what might be causing this? I am half tempted to get a new sound card but I am reluctant as it says my existing one is working (it just seems to have forgotten to tell the speakers!)
If anybody knows a fix for this I really would be eternally grateful

Stuttering Sound + Sound Mixer "System Settings" Flashing In And Out?
Sep 6, 2012This is a weird issue I'm having. I did a restart and when I came back BF3 wasnt playing any sounds, which is weird because it was just working. I went to make sure it wasnt muted in the mixer, and I see the weirdest thing.
The application "System Sound" is disapearing in and out very quickly, not only in the mixer but In devices as well
What can I do to fix it? Maybe reinstall Windows 7 sound drivers?
System Repair / System Restore Not Working
May 8, 2011The other day I was trying to figure out what coral paintshop pro meant by security key, so I googled it. Something popped up and asked me if I wanted to download, and I wanted to say no, but my laptop's mouse is too sensitive at times, so I accidentally clicked yes. My computer automatically shut down right after that. Every time I turn it on now, it goes straight into System Repair and it doesn't work, it says it cannot repair. I've tried System Restore, but since that doesn't get rid of the documents that have been downloaded, it isn't helping either. My computer won't even let me enter any form of Safe Mode, it just goes straight back to System Repair.

I had to install the latest AC97 drivers that just came out to get rid of the exclamation point in Device manager. When I click on the speaker icon or go to properties it shows sound is going through but nothing comes out the speakers. I have a second HD with XP and the sound works fine so I know my hardware is OK. Any suggestions to get my sound working?

Sound To HDTV Not Working?
Aug 3, 2012I recently fixed and reinstalled my OS. Well once I did, my sound decided to simply stop working. I have updated all my drivers, Set as default device, checked sound manager, and even used headphones. Nothing. I have both a PC-Monitor cable and a HDMI. Neither one works. Even though I hear no sound, Realtek HDA still shows audio going on.

Sound Suddenly Stopped Working
Nov 21, 2011I've had WMC up and running for about a year now, no problems. Tonight we decided to watch a movie that I have as an *.mkv file - we do this all the time, at least once a week if not more. I shut down WMC and played the movie in VLC Media player. When I went to start WMC again, the sound was gone. The sound works in the rest of the system. I can hear computer sounds, and VLC and other media players work fine. It's just WMC that has no sound.I checked all my devices and drivers, no errors. Though to be honest, if that was the problem I'd expect all sounds to be gone.I removed WMC from the system by using the "Remove Windows Features" in Control Panel, and then re-installed it. No difference.I did notice however that removing and re-installing WMC, I didn't have to re-setup all my channels, etc. The settings "stuck". (Oh, by the way, I did re-run the sound setup in WMC, no difference).I'm wondering if maybe my WMC settings are corrupted somehow? Is there some sort of config file perhaps? I have no backup plan here, this is my only way to watch TV. I guess I could wipe the drive and start from scratch, but I'd prefer not to.
