The HP site of course does not have an option for Windows 7, and the only audio driver they have is not for my machine. I picked Vista just for kicks!

I had Linux, and then Open Solaris on that same machine until last week and the sound worked...
I recently installed windows 7 with my dc7100sff
But as it seems I can't find any soundmax drivers for it
Windows 7 automatically detected it and installed some drivers, But of course this did not work
I've tried most soundmax audio solutions for windows 7 but it still does not work
Is there any solution or do I have to wait?
I got the beta awhile ago, build 7000 and once i got it, my sound wasn't working? I looked all over google and tried everything but nothing works. If anybody knows how to fix this tell me. My driver is a SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio v5.12.1.7010.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've installed Windows 7 and it really looks neat and fast, but I have one problem and it's getting my soundcard working.
I've downloaded the vista drivers from HP from HP Compaq dc7100 Small Form Factor PC*-* Download drivers and software - HP Business Support Center.
Ive run it in compatibility mode on operating system Windows Vista and installed them. Now theres an exclamation mark in Device manager.
Ive uninstalled the drivers so it would be clean:

When the installer says: Installation complete I look in the device manager and see this:

I have not been asked for money but to the wording above win/2004/08 a "fix" has been suggested by what looks like a Microsoft copy site. I have downloaded the "fix" but am concerned if I use it I may have greater problems.
"I lost my laptop with the " Security Shield " virus caught from roaming the web. This places 'Windows look-alike' shields over the top of every 'Desktop' icon, and clicking on it anywhere directs you to a website asking for money to remove it. This virus continually changes its name, and that is why the anti-virus programs cannot find it, and neither can anyone else for that matter. I have a HP laptop and a custom built desktop both running Windows 7. I have both devices networked together and both share files through the Windows 7 Home Group or through my NAS. There are many times when I am on my laptop and want to switch over to my desktop or vice versa. My desktop has multiple displays which got me thinking about extended desktops. Is there any possible way to set up a connection between both computers so that a program or software that is installed on both computers could be dragged from the laptop screen over to my desktop screen?

The desktop icons can't be used I can't click or select any icon, also right click of the mouse doesn't work. I can right click on the taskbar or in windows explorer but not on the desktop. I have WMC running on 3 Windows 7 x64 machines. I use Remote Desktop on my main PC in order to see my scheduled programs on all three machines on one screen. This has worked quite well for me for a long time......until this morning when WMC crashed in one of my remote windows. I visited the remote machine. When I opened WMC it had lost all my programing. It remembered my Series settings, though, which helped some. As of now, it's working on the host machine, ......however, I cannot open that WMC in the remote desktop. I un-click the show desktop icons in view and they hide but they return when I reboot.

I have enabled remote connection on the server and can log on with all of the user accounts. But I can not file share when I have remotely connected to the desktop using remote desktop connection. I have enabled printer and clipboard and then went in to more and selected the drive i wanted to share. I then logged on to remote desktop and the drive is not listed in computer management or in my computer. Is it an issue in the windows server os that I need to do?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble using a locally networked printer when I use Remote Desktop to connect to a Vista machine. Under the local resources tab for RD, I have checked printers. The only thing I can figure is that my printer is networked locally, not connected directly to my machine. Every time I try to print during my remote desktop session, I can't access my locally networked printer.
I installed the printer drivers on the remote computer and when I try to locate the printer, I get the following error: "Windows cannot connect to the printer. Server print spooler service is not running..." but the spooler service IS runing.
I also tried to plug in my printer to a local USB port this morning. Still would not work. I keep getting the same spooling error. The drivers are not corrupt, as others have indicated may be the cause. They work fine on my system locally with 7.
I also found a post elsewhere that discussed setting 'share permissions' and 'network permissions' to resolve the spooler error. Still no go.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I've spent a few hours on this one and am at a loss at this point.
I am using a Gateway Desktop with Windows 7 Ultimate edition. Now my desktop icons are not working. When i restart it works at the start and lateron it does not.
