i operate a 2 year old notebook using windows 7. lately the sound is broken up, (cuts in & out), sometimes garbled and slow, and at times it's ok. i have tried Internet, my own music, any sound system, seems to be bad. almost feels like the old fashioned electrical short circuit problem

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm having the most insane issue with sounds in Windows 7. All of a sudden out of the blue it seemed like my headphones started dropping half the channels. I can hear mostly high pitched sounds but bass and especially voices are very quiet, laggy and distorted.
What's killing me is I can't find out why. I've tried different headphones, but every pair does the same thing. I've used different audio jacks (reconfigured in registry) no difference. I thought the onboard Realtek card might have had it so I bought a new Creative sound card. Exactly the same thing.
I've installed and reinstalled new drivers, codecs and anything else I can think of. I even booted into my Vista partition and the sound there is screwed too now. Have I just killed some part of the motherboard somehow?
I am running windows 7 dell inspiron 570 64 bit 6gb ran amd athelon x3 emu 0404 pci sound card.my sound on playback after recording music from my synth comes out choppy. I have disabled every service i don't need disabled the realtex and amd high def audio check the speaker setting adjusted recording levels and still i get choppy sound. I just got this computer two weeks ago.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a peculiar problem that seems to be related to Remote Desktop Connection in Windows 7.
I connect to my Windows 7 Enterprise x64 RTM box using a Remote Desktop Connection.
When I return to the console session (I log on to the computer when I' in front of it again), the sound crackles and stutters and the mouse is jerky and non-responsive when I browse the Internet in Internet Explorer (or Firfox).
If I log off, or reboot, the problem goes away.
This problem occurs in any music player (in Windows Media Player, or Winamp), and it seems unrelated to the sound card, because I tried two different USB sound cards and heard the same problem. The problem occurs with any mouse also.
Here's what I've tried:
Installed the latest Realtek drivers a scan from PCPitstop indicates the drivers are up-to-date no change in the problem.
Tried disabling the NVIDIA Hi-def components in Device Manager no change in the problem.
Tried using 2 different external sound cards the problem is the same with any sound card or device.
Installed the Codec lite pack no change in the problem.
As per http://www.intel.com/technology/serialata/ahci.htm, I tried setting the Msahci value from 3 to 0 no change in the problem.
Disabled speaker effects (enhancements) no change in the problem.
Reset the BIOS to the factory default settings no change in the problem.
Tried using different apps to play music the problem occurs in all programs.
Ran Hijack this to make sure nothing questionable is running.
use Shell Ex View (http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html) and disable all the "Groove" extensions.
I have asked these forums for help many times already however my sound is not working and is causing flash multimedia to become choppy along with not playing any sound, such as the start up jingle will not play.
View 9 Replies View Relatedi clean boot my system and installed latest adobe flash player on ie 9, ffox 4. i've tried all media sites like Internet etc. the flash player won't deliver full sound. it starts correctly, no video issues but after few seconds the sounds goes way lot, gets choppy..i've had no success in finding a solution to this. i've tried uninstalling flash player, installing archived versions...but no luck.

win 7 pro 64 bit,
amd phenom ii x4 955,
4gb ram and ati radeon hd 5770 gcard etc.

Running Windows 7 Ultimate. I wanted to connect my laptop to an external monitor so I pressed "Windows key + X", then clicked "connect display", then "extend."
On most computers, doing this will allow you to output the display to another monitor.
When I did it on my laptop, the screen started flickering and became garbled. It's too garbled to see, and I can't find the mouse and undo what I've done. I tried restarting but it's still like this.
I recently attempted an install of Windows 7 onto a friends PC. The specs are listed below. Here is a link to a screenshot of the problem www.ronnarozny.com.
This occurs after a Windows 7 install. The system boots to the Windows 7 setup, where personal options are selected. After this, a reboot will begin the POST, and prior to completion, this screen appears. I do not believe the POST has finished, and I do not think it is handing boot duties to the OS.
What I have attempted so far is:
Memtest - checked out ok.
Replaced CORSAIR mem with other sticks.
Reformat from command prompt on boot disk.
Removal of all hardware, including video card.
I am completely stumped on this issue, and any help would be appreciated.
i've tried recording to roxio, the sound recorder, and audacity. i've input Internet, a zoom portable recorder and my galaxy. it happens every single time. the recording starts very clear and between 2:00 an 2:37 the output audio starts to sound garbled. i've tried everything. can someone help me? i cannot even record my southern rock band reheasal on any program.
View 8 Replies View RelatedTwitter not displaying correctly, fonts are all garbled like sticks. I have tried in firefox, IE9 and Chrome. It is unreadable in all browsers and I cannot find a fix anywhere. For Character Encoding I have all browsers set to Unicode (UTF-8) as do not recall ever changing them to anything else or seeing this problem before. All other sites show correctly. > shutdown /r /f /t 1 . And upon the reboot, all I get is a black screen, no cursor, with ~4 rows of rainbow, garbled pixels at the very top of the monitor (certain pixels occasionally change colours). This occurs before the windows splash screen. I have left the computer as is, hoping it will eventually boot on its own with no luck. This was just a routine check. Some more information, I dual-boot with Ubuntu. I can mount and access the windows partition from Ubuntu, and I even ran ntfsfix in Ubuntu (which has some analogous functionality to chkdsk), but it didn't notice any problems.
Is there something I can adjust to correct this? I have a brand new acer net book that I purchased yesterday and had this problem the minute I used it. I would like to make all aware that I am a kitchen and bath replacement specialist and an excellent tile setter since 1978 in the Phila. area
View 9 Replies View Relatedrecently i have been getting choppy audio in win 7 when browsing. watching Internet or twitch in fullscreen makes both the video and audio choppy and distorted. i have also had problems just by loading webpages or simply scrolling through long pages, this occurs with Internet and twitch as well as music that isn't being streamed. this happens in both firefox 18 and chrome but i doubt that is the problem. i have tried both flashplayer 15 and 10.3 without any changes, again not a suspect because the problem is audio outside of browsers as well. i don't think it is my headphones because it is happening on all of my headsets, but i will note that my old headphones broke and i am currently using replacements.

And sometimes when streaming on the internet, the same thing happens but right away. It is not the speakers because the sound will start then stop, over and over. It is not the internet because this happens in media player which does not require the internet to run. I've updated and troubleshooted and nothing seems to help. The problem goes away if I reboot the computer but comes back again the next day or even sooner. View 11 Replies View RelatedAll was well with my computer and one fine day video playback became very laggy and choppy. Also the computer in general slowed down considerably. My first thought was that there had been a virus attack and hence I ran a thorough scan. Nothing showed up. So formatted the whole system and installed Windows 8. Nothing changed. Videos continue to be laggy and overall system performance is slow. I read somewhere this could be because of high DCP latency caused by faulty drivers. I used the original Windows 7 backup DVD given to me by my laptop manufacturer to restore to factory default. No change - laggy video with slow system performance. I used the DCP latency checker to figure out what was causing the high values I was getting and pinned it down to the WiFi driver. The latency is down but choppy video playback and super slow OS continue to bother me. I've run out of options and my patience it's wearing thin.

I use 2 260 gtx and under windows 7 games play much better than in vista BUT they would only run properly when sli was disabled. SLI mode in windows 7 for me was totally broken. The computer would freeze and not recover. The only way was to reset the computer. I hope it is only a driver issue since they do not make graphics drivers for 7 yet but geeze that really sucks. Is anyone else using sli in 7? I used 64 bit.
View 18 Replies View RelatedI was playing total war shogun 2 on windows 7. Diagonal lines started shooting out of the characters, square block patterns start flashing all over the place. The graphics got progressevley worse and worse so i took in. They tested the graphics card and it was fine so they restarted the computer and then windows crashed. They reinstalled windows 7 and i started putting everything back together.
I just put total war back on my computer and started playing and its started again. I restarted my computer and all that came back was a blinking undersscore. Luckily i shutdown and it started normally but the graphics are still messed up.
I installed a retail version of W 7 on a Fujitsu which broke 6 months ago and cannot be restarted. Now I cannot activate the installation on my replacement computer and the support is less than useful, always referring back to an automated system. I transferred the HD from the old computer to the new but cannot see a way to uninstall the windows 7 from that disc. Trying help by telephone was impossible because of excruciating bad connection.

I can access Favorites, Address book files from Outlook express, photos. I copied all the important things also to a seperate folder on a My book USB drive. Can I install the My book to her new computer running 7 ultimate 32 bit and just drag and drop or copy to the favorites file while in the explorer pane? She was running IE7. Also how can I put all of her address book from Outlook Express into Outlook 2010?

Since I forgot that, and I had no idea how to log in, I used Revo Uninstaller Pro to uninstall MySQL and delete all the leftover files and registry values that it left behind.
