HDMI Problems Via Sony LCD

Oct 4, 2009

I have just built myself a new HTPC using windows 7 and based on a ASUS M4A78-VM mobo. I installed windows using a normal monitor via VGA and everything was fine however when I moved the HTPC to my TV a Sony KDL-40V4000 and tried to connect via HDMI the BIOS screen came up, then Windows starting screen, then nothing the TV lost the signal.

Am I missing some simple settings somewhere?

Driver Sony SXRD KDS - No HDMI Or Sound

Nov 22, 2009

I am having a problem with a new Win 7 build and have tried everything I could think of without success; hoping someone has a solution.

Background: I installed the OS with the HDD set to Native IDE, the system automatically loaded a driver that worked with my 50" TV and sound played just fine through the TV speakers. After the fact, I realized I had failed to configure the SATA HDD for RAID AHCI and so changed the HDD setting in the BIOS and reinstalled Windows as a new system build.

It failed due to the lack of a driver, and Windows being ever so "helpful", tried to fix the issue which it could not. After investigation, realized that the correct driver had to be manually loaded from a disc, so I wiped the harddrive clean, cleared the CMOS and started over again.

Problem: The HDD and OS loaded just fine, but Win7 selected a "generic PnP monitor" driver, does not realize the HDMI connection and there is now no sound. Manually changing the setting to a 1920X1080 monitor does not make a difference nor does deleting the existing driver, selecting other model Sony drivers, or reloading the OS.

I have spent hours trying to find a driver for the Sony SXRD (any model) with no luck. I have also tried everything I could think of to return the system to it's initial state hoping that Win 7 might reload and recognize the HMDI connection / provide sound.

Welcome any suggestions you may have. What is so bizarre is that there was an appropriate driver when Win booted for the first time but it is nowhere to be found in the application. (The list of choices does not include anything similar and Realtek HDMI Audio shows that it is "not plugged in".)

Look forward to any suggestions / assistance.

System specs:
Monitor- Sony SXRD KDS-50A3000

Win 7 Professional
DDR3 1333 2X2 10666CL8D G Skill Memory

No HDMI Output When Lid Closed - Sony Vaio Z2 With Intel HD 3000

I have setup extended monitors, and when I close laptop lid video on TV stop playing and shows me desktop from laptop. Tried "do nothing" when lid closed but that didn't do the trick.

Sony Vaio Laptop Audio Output HDMI Not Working In Samsung Monitor T23A750

Dec 24, 2011

I've recently purchased a Samsung T23A750 monitor and to my disappointment when I try to watch a movie the built in speakers are not functioning. I have a Sony Vaio Z216GX connected via HDMI to the monitor (HDMI-DVI) port. I can definitely see the video, but no audio is playing from the speakers. The built in speakers are not at fault- I did a self-diagnosis of the monitor and the speakers seem to work fine. I also set the monitor as the default for the audio and even when Win 7 says its functioning properly, the speakers still don't work. Conversely, setting the default to my PC speakers work fine. I'm sure its not the HDMI cable- I used the same one to hook my pc to my tv with everything working fine.

Dell XPS M1330 No HDMI Sound

May 13, 2009

I also have no sound coming from my Hdmi out after upgrading to RC 7.

I have a Dell XPS 1330 notebook. Audio is Nvidia HD Audio and IDT HD audio codec, both have latest drivers.

When i open Sound mixer and set HDMI to default device and default com device i see sound coming from source and registring on the volume bar graphs.

It seems to stop right at the cable. My computer (unlike a couple of other posts i saw) does recognize the cable and seems to be doing everything right.. just no sound through my .

Anyone have any ideas? i really don't want to go back to vista.

Realtek HDMI Output ATI HDMI Audio - Not Plugged In

Oct 28, 2012

I'm trying to hook up my TV with my computer, and for the most part it's working. The video goes through and I get how to control it and everything. The only thing not working is the sound.

I'm using an HDMI to HDMI cable, and like I said the video is fine. Also, when the cable is plugged into my boyfriend's laptop, the sound comes out of the TV.

So this must mean the problem is with my computer specifically. Although, this computer is only a month old, so I wouldn't think anything is out of date.

I tested the cable with the blue ray player and it works fine. I called Dell (still under warranty) an they were useless.I've checked the settings on the PC and I have it set to "extended" so I can see the monitor on both....no luck. Is it a setting on the TV that I am missing?

No Connectivity To A Public Network?

May 4, 2012

I am having a problem connecting to the internet in a public library where all other laptop users are connecting successfully. The curious part of the connectivity issue (to me, anyway) is that according to my computer I AM connected to the network. I have provided some screen caps of the issue (links below), and tried to run the Intel ProSet Wireless Tools diagnostic to troubleshoot the problem of connectivity. The test run by my computer indicated that my Ping Test failed Response: Default Gateway, DHCP server No Response.

Loss Of Network Connectivity

Jun 11, 2009

This has been an issue since I upgraded to 7201. It isn't constant, and seems to be worse when I'm downloading large files, especially multiple files from one source (like an album in iTunes). It is fixed by release/renew (or just letting Diagnostics do that).

If I'm not using a lot of data (regular web browsing, working on a database online, etc), it seems perfectly fine. It is holding so far downloading one track at a time on iTunes, but if I do 2, it drops the connection.

I'm using the Home network config, router is working normally, and I can't recall this happening before 7201. I've reset the router, upgraded firmware, and it only happens on this PC. I've set WINS, tried all settings for TCP/IP 4 and 6, and using the other ethernet port on my motherboard.

More of an annoyance, really, but I can't figure it out and it is bugging the hell out of me.

EDIT: I can still get 1 mb/s on a single download, but trying 2, I get 600/400 for about 10-15 seconds until it disconnects.

Computer Currently Has Limited Connectivity?

Mar 5, 2012

I have a COMPAQ Presario CQ62-215DX Notebook. This laptop ran very well until the day its internet suddenly failed. When I try to connect to my WiFi connection, it says "The computer currently has limited connectivity to X". I tried troubleshooting, and it said there was a problem with my network adapter. I went to Control Panel > Hardware & Sound> Device Manager. From there, I disabled and enabled all of my adapters, but my internet was still non-functional. The problem isn't my router, because my husband and kids are connected perfectly. Is there a way to solve this issue, or do I have to get an expert to EDIT: I saw on a thread that I should try uninstalling and re-installing an updated network adapter, but how am I supposed to do that without internet?

Wireless Connectivity Will NOT Turn On

Jun 14, 2012

I just recently ran in to an extremely frustrating problem with my laptop. I have an asus laptop, it's one of the gaming models. Just recently, it has shown that wireless connectivity is turned off whenever i boot up my computer. The thing is, though, that the manual switch to enable wireless connectivity is switched on. Whenever i attempt to switch it off, then back on, the graphic that pops up on your screen showing that wireless connectivity is disabled pops up even when i switch it on. It does the same exact thing when i use fn + f2, only the graphic saying that it's disabled pops up every time i press it, and wireless connectivity stays disabled no matter what. I have absolutely no idea what to do, this literally just happened out of no where when i booted up my computer yesterday.

Limited Connectivity After Malware Attack?

May 5, 2011

I know there are few Limited connectivity threads but ive checked them, non of them have the answer im looking for so ill just tell you the story.I accidentily downloaded a malware/adware program called Antimalware Doctor, i tried going into safe mode and using multiple programs to delete it (Malware bytes, Spybot - Search and Destroy & AVG command line scanner) they apprently deleted it , i loaded my comp back to normal mode and there it was back in there corner >

i managed to get rid of the program by bringing up task manager and removing the process called "sorttm700" (thats what the antimalware doctor program was called in the toolbar when i hovered over it) then going to my computer and searching for sorttm700, i deleted all the folders with sorttm700 in them and rebooted and no more annoying ads to buy fake software however i still have limited connectivity (it became limited while the malware was on my computer and before i took any action to resolve it)i am trying to use the same network as the computer i am using now ot send this message, i never get connection problems with my laptop using this connection i have tried reseting my router and modem as well as uninstalling the driver and reinstalling and now there is a red cross with no options to connect to an access point, my wifi on my laptop is on before you ask?

2 Networks Intermittant Loss Of Connectivity

Jun 28, 2011

just came over from XP Pro...had to get a 64-Bit machine; & went w/ an ASUS running Win7 Home...which I upgraded to Pro.I began to lose my internet connectivity, intermittently & noticed that, when it happened, the Network icon in the task bar showed TWO networks...(???).one labeled 'Network - No Internet Access'& the other labeled: 'Unidentified Network - No Internet Access'.Sometimes the problem would go away if i rebooted, but eventually it became a permanent dilemna.Verizon checked my modem...said it was fine, but sent me a new one anyway. Same problem continued. Took the PC back to Best But & swapped it for a new one...& it's been fine 'till this evening. It denied me access once.I rebooted; & got it back. Obviously, something is amis w/ Win 7 Pro in the way the network connection is set up.can't be two modems or two computers.I noticed it seems to happen right around the time that the OS goes looking for windows updates not in the same category.

Auto-Install SP1 & 2 And Now No Internet Connectivity

Jul 15, 2011

My grandfather called me yesterday and said the other day - his Dell Desktop automatically downloaded Sp1 and Sp2 and once it restarted - he could no longer connect to the internet. *Note - he is connected via a cable to the router* The computer shows he's connected to the router but it cannot connect to the internet.

He tried to use a "restore point" prior to the update, but they were all gone. There are 2 other computers connected to the internet and neither have any issues - one is connected via a cable and the other wireless.

I checked the settings on the router and modem and don't see any "stand-out" type issues. I'm not sure what else to do or check?

Connectivity Lost After Windows Update?

Jan 22, 2013

I recently did a fresh install on my gf's computer as it was suddenly unable to establish an online connection. The error showed in the connection status as the small yellow warning icon at the top left of the connection status icon, not the big red X that appears when the machine isn't connected at all.

Here are the specs:

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Rev.1
CPU: Intel i7 950
RAM: 12GB Corsair Dominator GT 2000mhz
The system is also not overclocked.

After trying many things (reinstalling network drivers, flushing DNS, trying a different ethernet cable, restoring all network settings to default) I gave up and did a fresh installation.

After installation, I installed all the usual official drivers, then performed a Windows update, but only the important updates. The connection was back! I then decided to install some optional stability updates, and after reboot, the network problem was back.

I did a system restore to before I installed the optional updates, but the problem persists. I have no idea which optional update is causing this, or which one to remove first to avoid creating more errors.

Limited Or No Connectivity & Not A Valid IP Address?

Jan 26, 2011

I bought the Acer Aspire Netbook.I cannot access the internet from my home network for some reason. It recognizes the network and it says i'm connected to it, but wont let me access the internet. When I browse the network connection it says "Limited Connectivity" and depending on the way I diagnose the problem, it either says that im missing a wireless adapter or most commonly, that my IP address is not valid.

My computer was also running the internet very, very slow when I've connected at the school. I had a friend play around with it, and he actually downgraded some of the settings (or something), and it runs a lot better. But it still doesnt solve my home connection.I've browsed many forums and tried a couple things, but im mostly scared to try the in-depth solutions (mostly because im not THAT computer savvy, and since I just bought the computer im scared to remove certain things just in case). These are the specs:

- 1GB Memory

- 250 GB Hardrive

- Windows 7 Starter

- Model #: AO522-BZ499

- AMD c-50 Processor

I'm normally very good with computers, however im mostly a mac user and havent had a pc of my own in a long time.

Power Outages, Then No Samba Connectivity?

Losing Connectivity When Computer Sleeps?

Oct 12, 2011

I recently installed Windows 7 (32-bit). I love everything about it except one major thing that seems to be a common problem, from the research I've done.Whenever the computer sleeps or goes in to standby mode, about 80% of the time when I come out of it, it loses the network connection. I will get one of two messages: "Local area connection doesn't have a valid IP address" or "Local area conncetion doesn't have a valid IP configuration." (It's usually the first message).I've Googled this several times and I've tried the fixes. I've tried searching for Bonjour (according to my Services list, it's disabled). I've tried setting the IPv6 off in the TCP/IP settings. I've tried changing the Wireless Adapter Setting's Power Save Mode to Maximum Performance. None of this has prevented this issue from happening.

Limited Connectivity On Restart/NIC Reset?

Any time I restart windows 7 or reboot my NIC, my connection comes back with Limited Connectivity. I can solve this(the only "solution" ive found) by rebooting my router once everything is on and get my connection, but its becoming quite the nuisance. The router shouldnt be the problem, as there are other computers/boots connected that dont have this issue.Event log (Microsoft-Windows-DHCP Client Events/Admin) : Your computer was not assigned an address from the network (by the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address 0x001A4D4F62E8. The following error occurred: 0x79. Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server.note that is NOT the error from DHCPv6(just DHCP under log name, not DHCPv6). The message is identical from what I can see, but thats not the source. And yes Ive already tryed disabling IPv6 without any success.

Limited Connectivity / Does Not Have A Valid IP Configuration?

Jun 13, 2012

However, recently my dad needed to reboot our modem several times because he was encountering problems with his laptop. This got the wireless working for a little while, but the need came to restart the modem again, so he did. Unfortunately, this put the wireless on the modem out of action. Originally, my laptop wouldn't even recognize the network's existence, but after a 3-hour-long tech support call to AT&T, our internet service provider, I finally got my laptop to recognize the network. Although the tech support lady through doing numerous things to both the laptop and modem, my laptop still will not connect fully to the network. By "will not connect fully" I mean that it gives me an error message, saying "connection unsuccessful", and on the list of networks, listed next to my network it says "Limited Access".

I've attempted to troubleshoot the problem multiple times, and so far the only thing that comes up is the message "Windows cannot connect to [name of my network]", and something saying I don't have a valid IP configuration. I have full access to the modem's configuration as well, and I've checked the firmware and other things to see if there is a problem with the modem. After numerous tests and diagnostics, nothing seems to come up that says there is anything wrong with the modem, but the limited access problem still occurs for my Dad's, my Sister's, and my laptop
