Screen Shots When Putting Curser Over Taskbar Not Work
Nov 23, 2009
For some reason... When ever I put my curser of an icon on the task bar, windows 7 doesn't show the screen shot of the window in use... Instead it just names the titles of my window!!
The method used by most to upload screen shots and pictures is saving it in .jpeg/jpg/jpe format and by using the Snipping Tool and the Attachments (paperclip) at the top of the Reply Box.
If you do not know about the Snipping Tool, please read this Tutorial on it.
How to use the Snipping Tool in Vista - Vista Forums
To start, use the Snipping Tool or whatever screenshot program you prefer and save it as a .jpeg/jpg/jpe.
When you are ready to include a screen shot in your thread/post, click on the paperclip in the reply box, where it will go to the Manage Attachments page.
From there, click on the browse button to open up the File Upload window.
Insert you image and click on The Upload button to the right.
You can also upload the file from a url.
Now, close the Attachment window at the top right.
So i came home and turned on my computer, when it didn't wanted to go further than to the Login Screen, when i got my Black Screen and i could only see my Curser. What to do? Format it?
A while ago my computer was acting weird. It would not let me go into this folder in the appdata thingy. So, I decided to restart. It took for ever to shut down, and booted back up and was working fine. That night, I went to turn off my computer but it was on the shutting down screen for about 2 hours, and sese its in my room, I could not sleep without it. So, it being 1 in the morning and me really wanting to go to bed I turned off the power strip.Today, I went to turn it on, and it went to the login screen. I logged on, and it went to a black screen with the curser. I waited there for a little bit but it still wouldn't work. The weird thing is that the screen saver came up. I have tried safe mode, and everything.
Black screen with curser in center. Without clicking the mouse, dragging the mouse draws a blue box. Acts like the left click button is stuck. Control/alt/delete-task manager has Skype program running and some times another program. If I end all tasks, computer begins operating normally. Tried system restore to an ealier date would not complete. That was probably from not disableing virus protection.
I wanted to upgrade from Vista to 7, but I didn't want all of my programs to save. I bought an external HDD, and put all of my games and programs which I didn't want to get lost into the HDD. Then, I reinstalled Vista, so I had no data on my PC, but only on my external HDD.
After that, I installed Windows 7. Everything went well, until I had to boot my PC. It said it was loading windows (7), and than the screen turned black, and I haven't seen nothing exept of the mouse curser.
What could the problem be and how could I fix it?
I think the internet drivers are lost too. How can I reinstall them to have my web working?
I was using my computer yesterday, plugged in a usb and began to notice some strange things. Firstly, my computer began to lag really badly, so much that it took over 2 minutes just to open a word document. So then i decided to restart the computer. It did its normal thing but after the windows loading animation, instead of showing the log in screen, i see a black screen and cursor. I tried to find a solution; system restore, safe mode, taking out the usb , none of them seemed to work.
p.s ctrl+alt+delete does't work on the black screen p.p.s In safe mode, when it's loading drivers, it stops after having loaded "avgidseh", I don't think its this drivers problem but maybe the one after.
When user inputs credentials and hits enter it goes to windows log in screen but when it should go to desktop the user just gets a black screen with movable courser. This has happened to about 4-5 different pc's so far. My current fix is to backup their files on the network, delete their local user account and have them log in as if it was the first time again which creates a new profile and they can then log in with no problems. I saw a thread on this here already but it was about 2 years old and didnt give me any information on what is causing the problem.
I have run into a little bit of an annoying problem while logging onto my computer. I get to the login screen, enter my password, it then says welcome and fades out like usual. But insted of it going to my desktop it just goes blank for five to ten seconds with only the curser in the center of the screen spinning round as if it was loading somthing.I have had this problem for a few months now and have lived with it. I know it is just my user account because I tried making a new account and it works perfectly.
My laptop has an inbuilt web cam. It is working well with Skype but I do not see it in order to use it to take snap shots. Can someone explain how I can use the camera to take snap shots
I've read that the shortcut to access items in your task bar is windowkey + (1-9) depending on the placement of the app from the start button. I've tried it, but no luck. When I press the combination, nothing happens. Does this work for anybody else? Am I doing something wrong? I love the idea of this working, but it does me no good until I get some kinda success with it.
Error: All task bar icons (not them to the right) and all icons in the program listhave turned white, and pressing them leads to nowhere, instead a window asks what programI want to open. This makes navigation quite difficult, because I have to open each program in theprogram file folders. Error occurred this way:Media player vlc ran flawlessly for quite a while, I think it was v.1.11.11.Then suddenly vlc captured all icons that is all icons became vlc icons, and allicons being pressed would open vlc.At that time I was able to uninstall vlc, and all icons were back to normal. Then I used vlc portable for some time, and icons were OK.For some reason I tried to install a vlc nightly build, and again all icons became vlc icons. And this time I couldn't find a way to uninstall the vlc properly. So I found vlc rogram folders here and there and deleted them. That removed vlc, but all icons now turned white, and didn't work.
I`ve got a weird problem that keeps happening. Without any errors or warningall of my Desktop Icons become frozen. I cannot activate any of them. If Ihave any windows open in the Taskbar or programmes running in the System trayI can left/right click on any of them and they all workfine(Programmes/Window Explorer/IE7 etc). I can access the Start menu andis the solution if it happens in Windows Vista but this
I just bought a new laptop (An ASUS Zenbook). I have a problem when I'm scrolling in a document (or similar, like this textbox I'm writing in now) - I can't scroll further down than where the curser is in the text. When I try, the screen just jumps back to the curser. If I scroll sideways, I control the position of the curser instead of the position of the screen. It's really annoying.I use the mousepad on the computer, and I haven't tried an external mouse.I've got a feeling that it might have something to do with scroll lock, but Asus didn't include a scroll lock button on the Zenbook (who uses that button anyways?)
I have my task bar placed at the top of the screen and auto-hide is OFF. This is what it normally looks like and should always look likeAs you can see indicated by the red line, there is a space between my web browser and the task bar. However if I restart my computer or if I open up a full screen game this is what happens:As you can see the space disappears. I prefer the look with the space but the only way to get it back is move the taskbar back to the bottom, then move it back to the topThe space comes back if I do that. However I should also mention that if I keep the taskbar on the bottom and turn off autohide, the space will be there as well but when I restart the computer the same problem occurs down there as well.
I had a rotating taskbar on top of my screen when i got windows 7 on my new laptop- it was like the apple one but has now dissapeared- how do i get this back?
I'm having an issue when typing text. It occurs when typing emails in Google and when typing in Word documents. It happens whether I'm connected to the Internet or not. As I type, the position of the cursor jumps positions, either to a previous point in the text (which results in text being inserted at this earlier point in the doc) or it jumps out of the text window compeltely (i.e. while typing an email or on Facebook). Does this sound like a familiar virus problem? what can I do?
I installed Windows 7 on my computer that was originally XP. Ever since then, I have 2 problems. First, my curser does whatever it wants, it jumps all over occasionally and highlights stuff so quickly while I am typing that when I press another key it is all lost. The second issue is that my mouse pad can no longer scroll.
I have a M17-R1 from Alienward, quad core, 8 megs of ram. Ipt jumped 5 times while typing this short message. Also have not been able to load touchpvad drivers from Alienware as well.
Got new ASUS N53JQ laptop, running Windows7, and can't get the taskbar to lock. I put the cursor "under" screen at bottom, right click to show taskbar, then click on "Lock the taskbar". A tick appears against it, but when I then click on the main screen, the taskbar disappears again.
I keep my taskbar at the top of the screen. I just like it there for ease of use. I'm not trying to make windows look or act like a mac (they annoy me with a lot of their button positions and whatnot)... I just like it up there on the top of my screen.
However, a lot of applications start out up at the very top of the screen. In XP, they started out in the middle of the screen, but in 7... well they are all the way at the top. And my taskbar is covering the menus and title bar, thus not allowing me to grab and move them.
Any of these which are resizable by grabbing a side or bottom edge, I just click there and windows will pop it down to just below the task bar. But several aren't, and I can't move the window in any way, shape, or form. If I know the menu layout, I can use alt keys to duplicate most functions... but some don't have alt key equivalents, or I just don't know them.
Is there any way, short of moving my task bar, or making it auto hide (which I do NOT want to do), to prevent this from happening, or even just reliably fix it each time it does happen?
Every icon on my taskbar only open off screen. I can see they are open by the thumbnail picture, but I can't make it my active window. I have tried the alt-tab, move method but still can't get them to appear. Is the problem caused because my computer thinks there are two monitors, when I actually have only one? How do I stop this from happening?
Recently with items pinned to my Quickbar, when a window is open and moved off screen the quick-launch shortcut is removed (so that when you hover over the quickbar icon, nothing displays). Normally you can always see the "shortcut" display of any window of that type open.In my opinion this is a great feature which allows me to remove clutter on the taskbar while still keeping the window open. This "feature" isn't working right now (i.e. no matter where the window is, minimized or off screen the "shortcut" display on the quickbar always displays it), and I was wondering if Windows was bugged, or if this is a toggle-able feature.
