I have a M17-R1 from Alienward, quad core, 8 megs of ram. Ipt jumped 5 times while typing this short message. Also have not been able to load touchpvad drivers from Alienware as well.
View 1 RepliesI'm having an issue when typing text. It occurs when typing emails in Google and when typing in Word documents. It happens whether I'm connected to the Internet or not. As I type, the position of the cursor jumps positions, either to a previous point in the text (which results in text being inserted at this earlier point in the doc) or it jumps out of the text window compeltely (i.e. while typing an email or on Facebook). Does this sound like a familiar virus problem? what can I do?

it is very frustrating as i need to put the cursor back in it's original place again, due to the fact that it jumps to previously typed text. sometimes it goes back a few words, sometimes it jumps up a few lines. whenever it jumps back, it jumps in between words or randomly in words like you can see on the second image.
it happens alot (the more i type, the faster it occurs again). i am 100% sure that it's not caused by me touching the touchpad while typing, as i've been looking for 10 minutes now while typing and i can't spot myself touching the pad with my hand, finger or anything else. i tried covering the touchpad with random objects such as a sheet of paper or a creditcard but the problem still occurs.
it happens in any program (firefox, internet explorer, microsoft office, notepad,...), even when i'm watching a Internet-video browsing the comments it's scrolling the page up (never scrolls down).

Using Microsoft Office 2003 Professional, I get intermittent errors while typing. Mostly with the? key and the ' key. Occasionally it will show a peculiar character and the only way I can avoid it is to find another ? I typed in the document prior to the error and cut and paste it in.I also updated to Office Professional Edition 2010 with the same results.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to start up Windows normally, I type in my password for the user account and then it just freezes, it doesn't load. So I think, okay, I'll just try to start up it in Safe Mode, no problem. But when I try to start it in Safe Mode the computer freezes at classpnp.sys and doesn't continue. I'm at a loss about what to do.
My computer is a Gateway Desktop, running Windows 7 Home Premium (64bit), intel premium processor, 1 TB hard drive, 6 GB DDR3 memory. I tried using the "Last Known Good Config" option, to no avail. I got the "Replacing invalid security ID" message. I let that go for about an hour when I stopped it, as it was going nowhere. If it makes any difference, I have also installed another operating system (Ubuntu).
My Microsoft Word trial recently ran out so I started using OpenOffice, which I actually like. The only problem is is that I don't have a margin on OO. Whenever I used MW my printed pages would be indented nicely. I have been getting in trouble with teachers since I am supposed to have 2.5-3 pages and OO gives me 2 pages. After a lot of effort and loading, unloading drivers, I finally got it to print UPS labels (when I call it the UPS printer using their driver) and labels from Endicia (when I call it the Zebra 2844 and use their driver)However, whenever I print a label on this printer regardless of what I call it, out of Word (office 2003 version) it always says the same thing, that it will print outside the margins and do I want to go ahead. I say yes and it prints fine, except it always then prints a second blank page. This doesn't happen if I print to you laser printer but we need the sticky labels to attach to the boxes.This worked perfectly with the exact same set up in Windows XP (same printer, same version of Word), so it has to be something related to Windows 7. I load firefox, same issue. I load Crome, it worked for 1 day then same issue. It used to login in fine last week. It logs in fine on my 2 other PCs and my Kindlefire.I have checked for viruses with Avast and A-Malware Bytes in safe mode - nothing. These 2 pick up 98% of stuff. Personally I dont think its a virusn IE9 - Deleted browsing history, cookies, temp internet files, everything under the Geneeral/Browsing History section. I have a problem when I'm scrolling in a document (or similar, like this textbox I'm writing in now) - I can't scroll further down than where the curser is in the text. When I try, the screen just jumps back to the curser. If I scroll sideways, I control the position of the curser instead of the position of the screen. It's really annoying.I use the mousepad on the computer, and I haven't tried an external mouse.I've got a feeling that it might have something to do with scroll lock, but Asus didn't include a scroll lock button on the Zenbook (who uses that button anyways?)

View 8 Replies View RelatedA while ago my computer was acting weird. It would not let me go into this folder in the appdata thingy. So, I decided to restart. It took for ever to shut down, and booted back up and was working fine. That night, I went to turn off my computer but it was on the shutting down screen for about 2 hours, and sese its in my room, I could not sleep without it. So, it being 1 in the morning and me really wanting to go to bed I turned off the power strip.Today, I went to turn it on, and it went to the login screen. I logged on, and it went to a black screen with the curser. I waited there for a little bit but it still wouldn't work. The weird thing is that the screen saver came up. I have tried safe mode, and everything.

Control/alt/delete-task manager has Skype program running and some times another program. If I end all tasks, computer begins operating normally. I bought an external HDD, and put all of my games and programs which I didn't want to get lost into the HDD. Then, I reinstalled Vista, so I had no data on my PC, but only on my external HDD.
After that, I installed Windows 7. Everything went well, until I had to boot my PC. It said it was loading windows (7), and than the screen turned black, and I haven't seen nothing exept of the mouse curser.
What could the problem be and how could I fix it?
I think the internet drivers are lost too. How can I reinstall them to have my web working?
I was using my computer yesterday, plugged in a usb and began to notice some strange things. Firstly, my computer began to lag really badly, so much that it took over 2 minutes just to open a word document. So then i decided to restart the computer. It did its normal thing but after the windows loading animation, instead of showing the log in screen, i see a black screen and cursor. I tried to find a solution; system restore, safe mode, taking out the usb , none of them seemed to work.
p.s ctrl+alt+delete does't work on the black screen p.p.s In safe mode, when it's loading drivers, it stops after having loaded "avgidseh", I don't think its this drivers problem but maybe the one after.
i have an intel i5 2400 cpu, combined with 4gb ddr3 memory. mobo is dh67bl - revision 3. no gpu installed.power supply is via corsair vx450.problem i been facing:
1) bsod saying that a clock interrupt wasnt recd. [url]
2) bsod saying: page fault in non paging area. couldnt grab a screenshot for this.
3) display randomly goes off for a split second and reappears.. but the color of the panes go blue (i havent chosen blue. my setting is for clear pane.)[url] this error solves itself after random number of hours/mins
4) display vanishes for a split second and reappears, and a small balloon at the bottom right corner prompts that the display driver had stopped working.
5) system plain hangs/stops responding. randomly happens.. but more so while on Internet, or after hrs of it idling, i come back to the comp and try to scroll the content onscreen.sometime it revives from the stuck state as if nothing happened, sometimes i have to give it a cold boot.
6) while reading forums with blue bands.. the blue bands kinda form blurry bars which stretch till the end of the screen. i tried to grab a screenshot but the screenshots were clean. the bands moved as i dragged the image about.
7) also, my comp's display went off one day and within a second came back with a blue-ish hue. it restored itself but again has gone back to blue-ish.
other relevant information:
windows 7 x64
no other os resides/installed on system
full retail version
os was installed in july.
When user inputs credentials and hits enter it goes to windows log in screen but when it should go to desktop the user just gets a black screen with movable courser. This has happened to about 4-5 different pc's so far. My current fix is to backup their files on the network, delete their local user account and have them log in as if it was the first time again which creates a new profile and they can then log in with no problems. I saw a thread on this here already but it was about 2 years old and didnt give me any information on what is causing the problem.

I get to the login screen, enter my password, it then says welcome and fades out like usual. But insted of it going to my desktop it just goes blank for five to ten seconds with only the curser in the center of the screen spinning round as if it was loading somthing.I have had this problem for a few months now and have lived with it. I know it is just my user account because I tried making a new account and it works perfectly.
