None of them rate more than half the speed of this little slider flash drive. I consistently get 30W and 20R on all programs I try to test it with. Other Tests show much higher result too but let's just stick with the R/W for now.BTW, I also tried the Patriot XT Xtreme series but according to the manufacturer's it is not compatible with either Acronis products or Adobe, after hours and hours with tech support and 3 different drive we figured this out. The programs only work right if the drive is unplugged.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOn my HP G50-112NR Notebook, 32bit, I inserted a 16G Verbatim USB flash drive to learn about ReadyBoost. I clicked on "Dedicate this device to ReadyBoost," thinking that I could change my mind later and "undo" it. I can't!! The USB had a few files on it & Properties shows they are still there. Device Manager says the USB is working properly. But when I try to "Open" the drive, the resulting window says it's empty. I have tried clicking "Do not use. . ." but nothing happens. I want to Undo the ReadyBoost "dedication" & restore the USB to normal use. How do I do that? (Unless I receive some good advice, I'm going to Format the USB).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Windows 7 64 bit and 8 gb ram (the most that the MB will accept. I had a spare 16gb ready boost compatiable USB drive and used it for Ready Boost. Seems a little bit quicker. My question is this: ReabyBoost is addressing 4 GB of the 16gb. I think this is all it is supposed to do. Can I used the remain 12 gb for storage or as a working area for products without compromising Ready boost?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Optiplex G520 and I, unfortunately, am running Windows 7 on it. Since installing Windows 7 I have had problems with my video card. Certain websites will not recognize my video card or say it's outdated. However, I had no problems whatsoever while I was running Windows XP. Is there a driver I can install to fix it, or does anyone know of a good graphics card I can buy that will be compatible with both my computer and Windows 7?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a dell computer second-hand from my friend, who had XP installed on it. It came with a subwoofer and a set of 4 regular speakers. On it, he had installed a form of creative volume control in addition to windows volume. The way it worked was he had the windows volume set to 100% at all times, and the creative volume control around 3% for regular browsing, 10-25% for gaming and 50% or higher for rocking out with music. I recently acquired windows 7 home premium x64 and upgraded my operating system. My soundblaster card has all the necessary drivers and the audio is all hooked up properly, and the only thing missing is this form of volume control. After looking around for the old software and trying a few different freeware and shareware programs, nothing has pulled through for me;

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a "refurbished" Dell Optiplex GX 620. When I turned it on everything worked fine until it rebooted after an automatic Microsoft update was installed. Now I have no sounds. According to the Device Manager "Your sound card is not working properly because a compatible driver is not available for this version of Windows." (I'm running Win7). My sound card is a SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio. I have tried several SoundMAX drivers (found online) that said they were compatible but they don't work either.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed a Radeon ATI XFX HD 4650 PCI, 2DDR, 1gig, video card into my vista desktop 3 months ago, and it worked perfectly. I only needed it to run 2 mintors a dvi and a vga. Yesterday I attempted to install Windows 7 and both screens went black.The device manager was unable to locate any video cards at all (the original had been removed).
I called Dell, and they told me that the card was not recognized, and therefore not compatible with "7". Then I called Radeon, and they said it was definitely compatible. The bottom line is I had to do a system restore to get back to Vista where all worked well again. i really need "7".

I am getting ready to install Win 7 on to a brand new Vertex 2 SSD to put in to my Samsung NC10 netbook. One thing that I have been reading about is setting BIOS to enable AHCI mode, but the downside is that my BIOS does not have a way for me to set that. I know the unit is capable of it because in older BIOS firmwares you could access hidden settings to change it.Anyway, is there another way for me to enable AHCI after installing Win 7? Also, does anyone else have any other suggestions about settings or do's/don'ts for installing Win 7 on a SSD?

I heard from some people they had the same problem under Windows Vista and solved it by switching to newer drivers, but alas, it seems I have the newest beta driver for Windows 7.
Is there any other way towards activating the boost or do I just have to wait until Creative releases a Windows 7 beta driver with microphone boost included?I also checked if the problem comes from my headset, but it's working fine under Windows XP with microphone boost enabled. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a question & hope it's not a duplicate... I plan to install Windows 7 64 bit when I get my copy in Oct. I will do a clean install on a virgin hard drive (WD Scorpio) and have seen a number of posts advising to get drivers to hand before starting the install.
My question is ... can a tool such as Drivermax be used now (ie on my current (Win XP Pro 32 bit) set up) to download the drivers I will require when I am on my Win 7 64 bit platform? ie can I tell (eg) Drivermax to not find Win XP 32 bit drivers but to find Win 7 64 bit drivers, even though Drivermax will no doubt detect that the request is coming from a Win XP 32 bit system, if you see what I mean... - does the program default to the OS it detects, or can you override that?
