View 1 Replies View RelatedChanging the Windows 7 wallpaper / background image is one of the easiest and most fun customizations you can do on your Windows PC. You can use any picture from anywhere on the web or from your own personal collection. In this video tutorial, we'll show you step by step how to change the Windows 7 background to any image you like.
View 0 Replies View Relatedbut today I am stumped. In Windows XP, there was an option to change the logon screen background color:HKEY_USERS.DEFAULTControl PanelColorsYou could change the string "Background" to any 3-digit RGB color code you wanted.(i.e., 0 0 0 = black, etc.)This color would show up on CTRL+ALT+DEL plus it would show up when you logged in remotely using Remote Desktop.Changing the logon screen background wallpaper is great when you're physically at the machine (and I've already done this), but you don't see it when you're connecting via Remote Desktop. Instead you're stuck with the OEM blue background color. The same key I mentioned above does in fact exist in Windows 7, but it doesn't appear to have any effect.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently sent my laptop in for minor repairs. Since having it back, my desktop background is staying black. I can "change" it in my settings, but the slideshow is not displayed (all icons, etc. are still visible). The selected background will flash on the screen briefly if I am closing a window or minimizing to the desktop. I've looked through settings to try to deactivate this black screen, but I haven't found anything useful.

Ever since a computer crash, my computer starts up with pink lines horizontally when microsoft windows loads and is only displaying 16 colours. When trying to change the display settings, all the video card information is not being displayed. I suspect is a video card hardware malfunction but I could be wrong. When The computer starts, I get a message saying "Windows has not loaded properly perviously" and gives me the option to run the Windows Startup Repair. After running the Windows Startup Repair, it fails to fix the problem and I get the message below:

Every time i try to put a picture as the wallpaper an error message comes up saying "this photo cannot be set as wallpaper" and when i try to change the theme the window color at the bottom is the only thing that changes.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI decided to change wallpaper (desktop), but the new one didn't look nearly as good once it was on the computer. So I decided to go back to the previous wallpaper, except it has now disappeared. I've looked everywhere, and have followed various suggestions found on internet (namely on Windows 7 Forums), but to no avail. The previous wallpaper was NOT a pre-installed Microsoft wallpaper, but an image I had directly installed some months ago.I would do a search on my laptop, but cannot remember the title of the photo.Florio

I had my wallpaper set as one that changes every 3 minutes or so. I set it up Wednesday, but yesterday when I put my 2nd monitor on to watch a movie, the wallpaper disappeared and went blank. I thought it did this just because it wouldn't work with 2 monitors enabled, but when I turned the 2nd monitor off in Nvidia control panel, the wallpaper flashed back on for a second and now it stays black. I restarted but it still stays black. Even if I try changing wallpaper in Personalize it doesn't change.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been running Windows7x64 RTM for about 3 months now. For a couple of days now, whenever i reboot my system it reverts to an old wallpaper i set some time ago. I tried changing the theme & aero border color to see whether it sticks after a reboot & it does!
I checked the group policy settings for any change & didn't find any. I use up2date AV & I'm fairly certain that my system hasn't been compromised. I'm a fairly sophisticated user & find this very annoying.
I have windows 7 home premium running on my compaq (HP) presario laptop. When i select a photo for the wallpaper it stretches it out even if the photo is a potrait one, which means it cuts off heads of people and so on. I have tried going into control panel> appearance and personalisation> personalisation> desktop background> and tried to change the picture position to fit or centre or anything other then stretch but it wont change anything, the wallpaper stays the same. Anyone have any ideas? i have a feeling it may be a problem with windows or something. My dad is running windows 7 home premium on his home pc and i can change the wallpaper settings on it no problem.

View 9 Replies View Relatedi use a triple-head configuration with my center monitor specified as primary display. i have made some 3x Wide screen wallpapers, and i set them as the desktop backgrounds. it works fine with one caveat:
the images left most border starts on the center display --the image is triple wide, but the right-most third wraps around the the left display.
any ideas on how to properly center the image? i need the center display to be the primary as certain applications throw a fit when they are run on a non-primary channel.
