Windows 7 will not get passed the HP Welcome screen at start-up if my HP OfficeJet L7680 All-in-One is USB-connected. Uninstalling and re-installing the printer driver does not solve the problem. Un-connecting printer and reconnecting it unfreezes the computer. Printer prints but OS freezes up again if scanning. This same printer worked without issues with Windows XP.

All updates and drivers are current. The only seems to be is with the virtual wi-fi adapter. I can't find a trusted site to download one. The device manager says everything is working properly.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if anyone else has my problem. When I click on the start menu and then all programs, the list freezes while trying to load, but in actuality one of my dual cores goes to 100%, then the second one maxes out after a few seconds.
To get rid of it, I have to click somewhere on the desktop and try to open something else until it can somehow let the start menu minimize. I tried to search this problem in the forums, but I didn't come across anything. I also hope that this thread could be posted in this topic.

i have windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. recently my desktop started behaving wierdly. it used to freeze after 10 min else 5 min after login. ctrl alt del wouldnt work.i have to restart it again. n the same problem after 10 min.. tried all scans malware, spyware, updated all drivers, and to the end formatted the system. ( just the OS partition ) rest all the partitions unmounted. even thought the problem exist. i searched the net.... all options tried... only memtest86 for ram is pending. THE SYSTEM WORKS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT IN SAFE MODE NO HANG UPS. i have stopped all the services except from microsoft in the sartup. still it hangs.

having moved once and having add and removed computers from my home network, along with other changes, I now have a cluttered Printer Selection Window, by which I mean the window that pops up when I want to print a document. I have five versions of a Brother printer and four versions of an HP printer, and only one of each is actually good. How do I clean up that window by getting rid of those obsolete references that no longer work? It's ridiculous that they don't simply disappear when I select one of them as the default.

My problem is: Whenever I try to print something (word, pdf, or any other file); printer spooler stops working and when I check the Devices and Printers all the printer drivers seem to be disappeared. I checked the Print Spooler" in the Services tool; and set the "Recovery after subsequent failures" option to Restart the Serviceā. Therefore all the printer drives coma back after 1 minute. However the spooler stops immediately again when the uncompleted printing job starts; hence I can not print anything more than a page. Earlier in this forum, someone posted that Microsoft issued a hotfix for this problem ( hotfix 2388142) which can be downloaded from article: [URL]. I downloaded this hotfix and tried to install, however it gives an error message of: The update is not applicable to your computer and quits installation. I did uninstall and reinstall all the printer drives, but this did not help either.

I realized some of these are not Windows 7 related but most are. While the computer "works", I do experience frequent reboots and freezes. Perhaps some of these driver loading failures are part of the cause of my issues.
When i got home today didn't my computer work, my girlfriend has been the last one using it. When I started that program I noticed that there were 3 MX850 printers listed, the original and a (Copy 1) and (Copy 2).So I went to devices and printers and saw there was a MX850 and a MX850 (Copy 2). No (Copy 1). So I removed the (Copy 2) printer and fax.I went back to CD Label print and saw that it still said MX850 and MX850 (Copy 1). Went back to devices and printers and sure enough, MX850 was gone and MX850 (Copy 1) was present. So I pressed F5. It changed to MX850. Press F5 again, it changed back to MX850 (Copy 1).It changes non-stop. It alternates betweem the two settings every time I press F5.I've tried uninstall re-install. I've also contacted Canon support who are dumbfounded. I also had to manually remove the registry entries and start menu entries because the canon uninstaller doesn't so it.I cannot use CD Label print. Each time I try to print a label it insists on asking where to save the file, rather than printing it.

View 8 Replies View Relatedi've had this pc for a year almost now and it just started to freeze at random moments for like 10 seconds, but after that it return to normal. it can really be annoying while watching Internet or something the sound gets really irritating. the picture stays the same, and after few seconds it just quickly rewinds in few pictures.

if anybody can help i would be grateful.... and yea i think (but im not 100% sure) the longer the pc is up and running the more often it will happen... and it happens while im watching Internet most of the time (or any streams). it doesn't happen while i'm playing any video games or anything like that (maybe it does but it is rare).... and it can happen while im on desktop just copying some files any that.
