My Asus Laptop needs to press F1 during booth every Time, there is no message to press F1, during booth the screens stops on Asus screen, Black and White, then to continue booth i always need to press F1, I already set Bios to default but the problem still occur!
View 4 RepliesAs a long Time Warner Cable customer, I've gotten used to how their DVR boxes work (and am very glad to be off of them now). One very common thing I would do is start watching a show, and mid way through it decide I want to record it and watch it later. The nice thing was that the recording would contain everything I had watched up to that point plus the remainder of the show. Well... whenever I do the same thing in media center, I notice that the recording starts at the point of where I pressed the record button as opposed to from the start of when I started watching. Is this a limitation of Media Center or is something not set up correctly on my end?

View 2 Replies View RelatedAbout a month after I started using it, the Say the Time clock program I bought stopped launching the management menu when I right click the date/time field in the task tray (notification area).
Therefore, I can't use or edit the program. Neither the touchpad nor the cordless mouse works.
Other than this problem, my computer works great. Every single item that's meant to be right clicked works for me.
Is there a way I can generate a log to show the software manufacturer (Provenio) that it's their problem and not mine? I am a novice user but I can follow instructions. However, I don't want to put my computer at risk if I make an entry error.
I've been using computers for 18 years and I've never had this problem until I bought this software and used it for about a month.
I just wanted a conclusive way of putting the ball back in the manufacturer's court.
I spilt some water on my laptop a few days ago but fortunately it's completely dried out and working perfectly.... apart from this minor (but important) issue.
Problem: the system time does not stay correct. Even after manually updating the BIOS time and also even after manually syncing it with the various servers available under the time options.
Fix: set the internet time sync interval to every minute rather than its default setting? How do I do this?
P.S. This couldn't be a CMOS battery issue surely because even when the system is on and plugged in the system time still deviates from correct. (I assume the CMOS battery is only used when the system is powered off.) If I need it replaced, how does that sit with my Dell hardware warranty?
So I bought a new desktop computer about 2 weeks ago and ever since I got it, it's been freezing (locking) up on me at random times. I currently use Windows 7 64-bit. I put in a new graphics card and new memory sticks just the other day and I got the same freezing problem. It's very random. I can be surfing the web and the next thing you know, the whole thing freezes up. I can't move the mouse. Can't do CTRL ALT DEL. Can't do anything. Seems as if the whole computer locks up. The only way to restart the computer is by manually holding in the power button for a few seconds. So since I replaced graphics card and installed new memory, I was thinking it may be something else causing this.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I built a new system, and created a bootable USB with Win7 on it, I've tested it on my previous comp to make sure it is bootable.I plug it into my USB slot (tried both USB 2 and 3 slots) and set the bios (F15) to boot from what it reads as a Generic Storage Device 0204.I reboot and then see "Press any key to boot from USB..." <-- 3 dots which immediately (<1sec) changes to 4 dots. And then the system hangs. Num and CAPS are both lit up, and cannot be turned off. Nothing else does anything.While I'm in the BIOS, the keyboard functions just fine. It's a USB keyboard plugged into a USB 2.0 slot (but also didnt work when plugged into a USB 3)

Expanding files was stuck at 0% for a few minutes. So, I unplugged a single USB device and install proceeded. All readers take note of this SF learned 'fix'.
That is when I noticed that my DVD drive was spinning. I had neglected to remove the DVD after copying it to the thumb. I ejected the drive and the install interrupted.
Even though I specifically selected to boot from the thumb (via F8), I was indeed installing from the DVD. I did not recv the standard 'Press Any Key To Boot From CD/DVD'.
I am not willing to perform any tests on this at this time. A new clean install is likely in my near future as I continue to test VMs and other apps. But, I am curious. I will assume that I did not deviate from the process described above. I was neither tired nor stoned. I specifically selected to boot from the thumb.
Did Windows install see the DVD and make a jump from the thumb to the ODD?
when i press F1.2.3.4. the functions like brightness/dull/mute,etc occur. whereas if i want to use shortcuts for F1,2,3 (like spell check in excel for shift +F7), i need to use fn key+F1/2/3. can i inter replace this function?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI try to install Windows 7 on my system, but when i insert the dvd with the .ISO of windows 7 64-bit into my drive, i select boot from my DVD drive on start up, and the screen goes black, but nothing happens, and it starts my Windows XP.
Oh, and ive also re-burned the .ISO at the lowest speed, multiple times. No luck.
Got my computer back from having its PSU fixed, and this is happening.When I press the power button, it powers on for a second, then off, then back on again automatically and actually stays on this time. It does this every time.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis morning, Windows installed 5 updates, which I had postponed from yesterday. It told me to reboot but when it did, it got stuck at the Press ESC point. There was no disk activity. I turned off and rebooted again several times with the Windows Repair disk in the DVD drive. I was able to run the startup test but it said it couldn't repair it. The log said the the fault was caused by a critical update. I went into System Restore, but I am unsure of the options. It showed a screen with all my partitions already ticked, including the Windows boot partition which was greyed out. Am I supposed to leave all the partitions ticked, or if I don't, will I then lose those partitions?
I currently have the Wondershare LiveBoot 2012 DVD running but I'm not sure what option I need to use. Recover MBR, Recover Boot Sector, or Recover Boot files, or all of them?
I have a raid (stripe) hard drive and it was working fine and i turned on my pc and it states floppy disk fail and when i press f1 it states boot up failure.I have tried all the recovery options and system recovery takes forever and does nothing and it does not even have my drive listed in the option box in system recovery so i dont know what to do i don't wanna loose my data.

I went on control panel and the keyboard was still set to "English (United States) - US" and the language was still set to English.
