tell me a program or software i can buy to speed up my pc,it crashes constantly,or hardly will load completely, but i need something that will work on several pcs.an what is cpu an how can i fix it?
today Internet and other sites claim to require a new adobe flash plugin be downloaded, but even after going through the directions and running it and being told i am running flash whatever version and even restarting for good measure i come back and get the same flag that i need to instal this same plugin.
I just got a brand new Touchsmart 300z running Windows 7 x64 Home Premium. I set up Windows Media Center, and added Mediabrowser for better TV show support.
Mediabrowser sometimes behaves normally, other times it gives me an INVALID APPLICATION unable to launch Mediabrowser error. I usually don't get the error when I first launch Mediabrowser. I usually get it (only sometimes) when entering one of the media collections, trying to play a video (again, only *sometimes*), trying to save settings, etc. The crazy thing is, sometimes it works.
It does seem to consistently give me the error for some video files. For others it might give me the error *sometimes*. Sometimes I can play the file without problem, other times I get the error.
All files play correctly in native Media Center, in the Touchsmart software (which also doesn't support TV series collections very well), and WMP.
Thinking this might be a video-related problem, I also installed Heatwave, GameEx, and mcShoutcast. Heatwave also gives me this error -- SOMETIMES. mcShoutcast and GameEx seem to always give the error. For kicks I also tried TunerFreeMCE - always gives the error.
I have tried various things like manually deleting caches, changing permissions for the ProgramData folder for the plugin to allow everything from the user profile that I log in with to run Media Center... Nothing has worked.
Yet I can use the native Media Center capability for videos, music, Internet TV, etc.
Basically, the upshot is that NO PLUGINS WORK CORRECTLY. I suspect that it is at least partially due to x64, based on the fact that when others have had the same errors that could not be resolved using the normal fixes, they were x64 also. Seems like the 7RC had less trouble from what I have been reading...
I'm very frustrated, and am thinking of returning the s****y Touchsmart and building a Windows 7 32bit or Vista 32-bit box... Maybe using XBMC or something and skipping the tuner all together, though the husband would really like to watch live sports OTA.
The yellow bar with the "update" message pops up on some sites, but not all sites. I hesitate to do updates on things I don't understand, so I'd like to get rid of that annoying popup.
I am trying to customize my version of Firefox Portable. I am wondering how I can keep it so it doesn't ask or even recognize local plugins that are installed on the host OS? Such as flash, shockwave, etc.
I recently locked down a PC's with LGP. It is heavily restricted for public use.One strange problem that has cropped up is the Flash player in Firefox.I didn't install the plug-in before I locked down the user account. Afterwards I realized I hadnt installed it so I logged on to the Admin account and installed the plug. The player now works fine when logged in as Admin or as a User with full privileges but wont play in my locked down user account, where I still get a message saying the plug-in is not installed.
the screen will get very dim at the windows icon where it pulses against a black background..could this indicate I need a bigger power supply? (I read that somewhere recently, hehe)When I use my iphone, xbox, or any torrent program, my computer slows down and my mouse stutters for lack of a better term. It waits a few seconds before jumping to where ever it was that I moved my mouse. This is stopping me from using the computer when I watch netflix or anything else where data is being transfered. I'm not sure what Hijack This found, but here's the log it provides and if there's anything else I need to post, just let me know where to go and I'll post it here ASAP.
I have a little problem with my mouse for about a month now. I've tried looking around the internet but found no solution. During normal usage the mouse cursor would randomly slow down to a crawl then a split second later the cursor would twitch back in to "position" to where it was suppose to be. (I've noticed this is more likely to happen if the processor is busy ie: click on a link, loading page etc) I've tried everything I could think of, changing mouses, re-installing the drivers, resetting and even reformatting. But the issue always seems to come back. I am currently using my logitech G500, however this issue is present with the razer deathadder that I borrowed from a friend.
I just bought a ASUS n53sv, with a USB 3.0 port.. All my transfers thru this port, slows down ..
On my other USB (2.0) ports, the transfer is on a steady .. 10-20mb/pr. sec. Howeer on my USB 3.0 - transfers start with a upload on appr. 110-130mb/pr. sec, and within maximum .. 20-30sec it has reached 5mb/pr. sec ..
whenever i insert a dvd in my dvd drive or bd drive ( i have 2 drives) firstly it works very slow..if i open the disc it's gonna be loading some time me to see the files..and it slows down the computer..it's the same thing with both drives and all discs..and the drives are not old
I was transferring some video files to my nas via wireless no problem there usual slow transfer, i went to move the cursor and it stuck then eventually it moved, I tried a few other things and they took forever to open etc. The thing is according to my system monitor nothing was being used, appx 800MB out of 6GB of ram and 1/2% of cpu.
I've been lately having some problems with my Alienware m15x gaming laptop. It used to work like a dream and all the games worked very well too. But now I've been expreriencing low fps (5-20) while it used to be 60-80, and the overall performance has been low too. This starts after about 1 hour of playing. I'm pretty sure it started after using wrong power adapter for 2 weeks. Now I'm using the correct one. I can't remember if I had the problem with the wrong adapter but I think it started after switching back to the normal. I've run virus scans (malwarebytes whole computer scan and flash scan, and whole computer scan with Avast) and they haven't found anything.
So I my pc recently crashed and when I reinstalled my windows things have been running slow. I have plenty of space and am running on 6gig memory but it still moves slow (especially when I am transfering files). My specs are as follows:Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU 530 @ 2.93GHz 2.93GHzInstalled memory (RAM): 6.00 GB (5.87 GB usable)System type: 64-bit Operating SystemPen and Touch: No Pen or Touch Input is available for this Display
Every time a play a CD my computer slows down. If I change tabs in my browser the song freezes (as well as my PC) and then it comes back. My CD drive, a TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S223C SCSI CdRom Device is almost new. I have Windows 7 with an AMD Sempron 2800+ and 3 GB of RAM.

The past few months, something strange is going on with my external USB 2.0 1TB hard drive which I use for weekly backup. Various activities cause the drive to wake up, which slows Windows 7 (Ultimate 64-bit) down for a few seconds until the drive is fully spun up. Actions include emptying the recycle bin, downloading files in Firefox, and occasionally clicking links in Chrome. I've even turned off recycle bin for that drive, but no difference. There are no references to that drive in the Windows environmental variables or browser configuration. With system/hidden files visible, I see no files on the drive which indicate a temp cache or virtual memory file. C: is the only drive being used for virtual memory. I've got 8GB of system memory and 1GB of video memory, plus plenty of hard drive space. I've been supporting/using Windows for many years, but this has me baffled.
Before the Update, my computer was super fast. Every application I opened showed up almost instantly. After the update, the same applications that used to show up instantly take a lot longer to show...1) How do I disable Automatic Updates for Hardware/Drivers?2) I think I uninstalled the updates I downloaded yesterday... But my computer still isn't at its normal speed.
im at work and an employees machine is running windows 7 enterprise.. he says that almost everyday around this time (2-3pm est)that his computer completely slows down.when we opened task manager, windowindexer.exe keeps showing up. we went into services and stopped it and disabled it but it doesnt stop the problem and he is forced to hard boot to restart to make the problem go away. i am thinking it could be a malware issue so im downloading malware bytes .
I bought the laptop used about a month ago and everything seemed fine. A few days later I noticed that the fan was running a lot, so I read a tutorial online and used a can of compressed air to clean out/off any dust and such. Right away the fan/computer was much quieter. My situation now is that whenever I watch a video (Netflix, HULU or even something stored on my HD), within a minute or two the video freezes/locks up or sound and video are lagging quite a bit. I have no indications of malware/virus and it seems everything else is mostly fine with the computer. I did the Windows troubleshooting and it recommended lowering resolution and turning off Windows Transparency. I haven't done either because I wanted to ask for help before I start changing settings. I installed Core Temp. 1.0 about an hour ago and both Core's are running between 72-76 deg C with a Tj.Max of 85*C.

I have reduced start up programs to minimum and offloaded all big files to external hard disk to free of space, but when I use the internet, the pc just seems to slow down until it completely stops.on many occasions it automatically shuts down due to over heating, I have a fan pad (under the laptop) to keep the heat down but still makes no difference, I have also updated the BIOS settings and set the internal fan to work all the time.Is this a virus ? or just a crap laptop ?I have installed bit defender and also regularly run clean up! to remove temp files.
This problem just started one day with no warning. I found that the computer starts up perfectly fine, loads Windows 7, and logs me in. but, after that, everything is suddenly incredibly slow, with the start menu taking minutes to open and certain programs even taking tens of minutes to open. It will occasionally freeze and become non-responsive. So I booted into safe mode, where at first it seemed to be doing relatively fine, but after opening a couple programs/files, it slowed down dramatically again.
I've run quick scans from Avast, MBAM, and SAS with no result. At first I thought it was hard drive failure, but that doesn't explain why at first the computer loads up fine. I then thought maybe it's memory failing, so I used the memory diagnostic tool, using 2 passes. It went through the first pass without problem, but I never saw it complete the second pass because when I came back, the computer had restarted with an error message and leaving a minidump file.
The computer is a Toshiba Satellite P755-S5269. I've had it for over a year without problem.
This seems to happen to me a lot, from what seems to be games. Researching some more, It could be resolution changes (seeing as it also happens when I plug another monitor in) however, I can't find a fix (other than at that link, but I don't want to install software I haven't heard of, much less an antivirus as it may come in conflict with MSE)
When I do a large file transfer or multiple file transfers my computer gets extremely slow during the process. Slow meaning that to open the web browser it struggles and while typing search terms in google there is lag. That's just one example, other's being opening programs.Last night I reformatted my computer because I thought maybe it had something to do with it. But no luck because after the clean install was complete I transferred about 600gb back on the computer and during this process tried to view the properties xpadder (Right click-> Properties) and the entire system froze. A hard reset and I started the process all over again, tried watching tv using windows media center and it worked but flipping through channels was extremely slow and it is not usually.
Single mouse clicks become double, triple, or even quadruple clicks. I have tried going into Control Panel > Mouse > Double Click Speed and repeatedly changed the slider from fastest to slowest and vice versa without satisfaction. When trying to simply move a window by dragging it to a new location the window will suddenly jump up to take up the entire screen, even when I don't want it to.
I did a clean boot(disabling startup items) a while ago and after reverting back to normal boot, my computer became pretty slow in doing certain things. I don't know if this has anything to do with my clean boot or if it was just coincidence that it happened then.

Some background info: I originally had my computer overclocked but after a Bios upgrade I couldn't get the same results so It is currently stock speed. Computer is only a year old. Running temps are around 40-45C. Harddrive temps are normal (40-48C). I have completed a full check disk and monitor the harddrive with CrystalDisk Info (SMART Utility) and it seems 100%.
