I run plain-vanilla Windows-7 on a new Dell desktop, at home. I use Outlook for mail and it worked normally for a month. But recently when I click on a link in an email, program displays, "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator." This seems to be a genuine Windows msg, not a virus.

Please contact your system administrator. It was working just a few days ago, and I haven't changed any settings and don't know what to do. I have Windows 7 64bit.

Wll, new to the forum but hopefully someone can help. I have Windows 7 Home Premium.In repairing the flashplayer problem, I must have disabled whatever system administrator privilege there is which allows one to click on links within word documents, websites, email etc. to go to other web pages. It now comes up with a message box which states "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effecton this computer. View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using Windows 7 - Home Premium 64bit. There is only one user on this machine which is Administrator and this computer is not connected with any networks. I am trying to move all of User's folders to D: drive. I have successfully moved, My Pictures, My Documents, My Videos, Contacts and other folders but when I try to move "Desktop" folder, it gives me an error message at the end of the operation (after coping all the data to the new location) that "Folder Redirection Failed", "Operation was cancelled by the user". I have tried to change the location several times for this Desktop folder but every time I do it, I get this error message.
Now situation is... Data from my Desktop is present in its default location but also copied to D:UsersMyNameDesktop folder. Means, exactly the same data is placed on two different locations but default Desktop location is still at C: drive. Why I am unable to change my Desktop location? I am trying to change the location by right clicking on Desktop folder in User's folder, then Properties and then Location tab. It's exactly the same way by which I moved all of my other User's folders successfully.
whatever i try to do on my outlook that has to do with .PST file management results in a crash where outlook quitsif i go to control panel > mail settings > data files 2 of the files that are in use (& work) do not show up, one of them the default mail delivery .PST. in these two, trying to access the advanced properties gives an error:The operation failed. Once I logged on, the computer operated so slow that it lagged when typing. I went to control panel and found out that none of the Microsoft, Intel programs were listed. I then realized updates weren't turned on, so I tried turning it on, but it gave me an error. This was the same error I got with many of the services not willing to turn on. I have been messing around with Ubuntu and other OS's and after I installed Ubuntu on a 5gb partition, I realized that is way too small, so I went into Windows, opened up Disk Management (diskmgmt.msc) and just deleted the volume. Well now I have a green partition and when I try to delete the partition, I get the error "There is not enough space available on the disk(s) to complete this operation" I am doing this all on my internal hard dive in my laptop.

i have just installed ms outlook 2007 on my laptop. I am using windows 7. I am not able to send/receive mails in it. Whenever i try to click on send/recieve tab, everytime it gives me an error messege with code (0x80042108). Not able to use my outlook. I have configured my yahoo mail id in it.

The printer works fine from my Windows 7 Pro desktop, and also from other laptops with Windows 7 Ultimate.
I've tried installing Microsoft's hotfix (982728), installing locally on LPT2 and running 'net use LPT2 \Computernamesharedprintername /persistent:yes', updating the driver. None of these worked.
I have two computers I want to connect to a network printer. The printer is a Konica Minolta. When I try to connect it to these computers I get:windows cannot connect to the printer operation failed with error 0x00000002 Both computers are windows 7 and previously were connected to the printer. I had to reinstall the OS on both machines thus the reason Im reconnecting the printer to them. The computers are attached to our domain. Other computers in the office are able to connect to and use this printer.

My emachine recently crashed in the blue screen and I tried to complete a system restore. I was able to get through the advanced boot menu and use the repair your computer option to restore windows. During the windows setup process I got another blue screen and the computer restarting. It then started the process over and once it got to the step that says windows is preparing setup, it gives an error msg saying something along the lines of windows was interupted and needs to restart to complete installation, and it has an option to press ok. This cycle continues and I can not open in safe mode because it says "windows can not complete the installation in safemode. Also the option to repair your computer in the advanced menu options is no longer available. So after wrestling with windows starting up I decided to create a back up and restore disc on my acer for my windows 7 computer. I tried putting it on a disc but it would not boot. So I tried creating a installation disc of windows 7 and tried booting from the cdrom drive. Once I did that I got a error msg saying "device driver not found: MSCD001 No valid cdrom device drivers selected. It then gives me the A:>. Im not sure if I created the disc wrong since I cant unzip the entire file I downloaded with needing an encryption password.

Explorer.exe will fail on me, and I have tried the src thing using run but it will open and immediately close on me. I didn't have a recovery disk so I just recently bought one. I "think" I made the recovery disk correctly. When I put the cd in, I got an error that the file winload.exe with the error code 0xc0000001 saying the file may be missing or may be corrupt.

I am running Windows 7 64 bit, with Office 2007. I have installed a Xerox Phaser 6360 DN printer via the network at work. The printer is connected, as I can open the properties and see that the yellow toner is low. Newest/compatible driver from Xerox website is installed; yet whenever I send a document (or test page) to the printer, in the status window after a few minutes the status changes from "Printing" to "Error - Printing".

View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed Service Pack 1 for Windows 7. After it rebooted, on the Windows 7 loading screen it shows "Applying update operation XXXX of XXXX". After a certain number it says "Error applying operation XXXX of XXXX", and then the system proceeds to hang on that screen, meaning that I am unable to access Windows. I try mashing F8 for my life when resetting the computer, but I never get a list of boot options, so I cannot get into Safe Mode or even try the computer's Last Known Good Configuration. The edition of this version of Windows 7 is 64 bit Ultimate. The laptop I am using is also 64 bit Ultimate.
Another thing I want to point out is that both of these computers have been taking an incredibly long time (near 12 hours at this point) trying to download and install Service Pack 1. There is no spyware or anything running in the background. I am fearing that I might get the same error on this machine but I have taken the liberty of creating a System Restore point in the event it happens. I have two other Windows 7 machines in the house (32 bit Professional and 64 bit Home Premium), and both of them installed Service Pack 1 without any kind of problem, and both of those computers installed them rather quickly.
