The update is called:
nvidia - Graphics adapter WDDM1.1, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.2, Other hardware - NVIDIA GeForce GT 425M.
After installing it, whenever my laptop tries to use the Nvidia card, I get a blue screen and the system restarts. I looked in installed updates to uninstall it, and it is not there. I did a system restore to four days before I installed it, and I still get the same effect. Lastly, I installed some older nvidia drivers that used to work using the clean install option, and I still have this problem.
I have problem with my game. I installed game and run from desktop icon but just open this and stop.I try to Run as Administrator but nothing.

I don't want to reminded to install it everytime I get an important update notification for the next five years or so that I plan to have this computer.

I had to send computer to be repaired under warranty and the hard disk was replaced. after this repair, I was trying start a game software and this would not run because it said that D3DX9_45.dll was mising in my computer. I have tried the DirectX upgrade and it starts loading ok, but at the end of the installation an error comes up saying that Direct could not be installed. I have also found that the windows update is not working because the service is not running. I have looked in the service data and the Windows update is running.
View 2 Replies View Relatedthe other night i left my computer on and it said it was going to auto update at 3am, i came back downstairs to see it had updated and tried to use my mouse/keyboard (wireless Microsoft ones) and nothing was happening.. it said the windows update had installed correctly in the bottom right hand side, i guess the only thing it can be is a driver issue as it works on my windows XP partition i am using now and also works on a recovery disk/startup to get into bios.. the problem i have is i have tried a USB to Ps/2 connection with no luck (with my wireless mouse/keyboard and a wired one of both), ive gone into system recovery and apparently i don't have any system restore points (im 99% sure i did/do) ive booted into safe mode the story is the same there.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently changed my settings for Windows Update, to let it check for updates, but now it always asks for a restart. I tried almost every solution, i don't know what to do, i need SP1 for SQL Server 2012 to work, but it's not installing. I even downloaded the update from microsoft's website, but the installer fails. I tried almost every method i found :
- setting it to never update, then setting it back to automatic
- deleting the registry keys from the Update-er
- deleting the files in SoftwareDistribution
- trying FixIt (normal and aggressive mode)
- trying the FixIt method manually
- renaming the edb.log file in the SoftwareDistribution folder via safe-mode.
I can't give you an error number, since it doesn't show one.
I had the same 3 updates continually installing everytime I logged on. They were sucessful in update history but kept comming back. I ran the system rediness tool, but it didn't help. I ran the microsoft fix it soultions for windows update normal then aggressive. Now I get this error while checking for updates. I tried to run sfc /scannow and then sfc /verifyonly but get the following error: windows resource protection could not perform the required operation. I also tried to install the latest service pack got the following error: error_sxs_componet_store_corrupt(0x80073712). When I look at programs->installed updates nothing listed, also when I look at programs->turn on/off windows features nothing listed.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been having problems with my computer's sleep and hibernation. Whenever I use them, my computer shuts down instead, and when i go to wake it up I get a screen saying Windows shut down improperly. I did a little searching around and found out it seemed to be a common problem after installing SP1 for Windows 7, and that there was a fix. But when i went to download the fix, it told me I already had it downloaded. Yet I still have this problem. Other places said to try turning off the hybrid sleep option - except mine was already off.

He has an Dell laptop computer that runs on Windows 7.He has a basic, Microsoft brand, three button wireless USB mouse.Earlier this morning Windows Update manager gave him a pop-up that said he had updates to install. He installed the updates and restarted the computer. When he restarted, his mouse wouldn't work the keyboard works fine. He tried unplugging and reconnecting the mouse and to resynching the mouse, restarting his computer with the mouse unplugged as well as plugged in, and switching the USB port of the connector, but was unsuccessful in getting it to work and asked for my help.Seeing that the mouse appeared to be working (and it's worked flawlessly until this morning), I repeated the steps he had taken and then removed and reinstalled the drivers in the case a driver had become corrupted when updating Windows 7. Upon reinstalling the drivers and restarting the mouse worked again for about five minutes. Five minutes later, it stopped working.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchased motherboard with the manufacturer number of MB.G0409.005 (MB.G0409.005 GATEWAY MOTHERBOARD DESKTOP BOARD SOCKET AM2) on 2/3/12. I had put it into my system and then proceeded to install upgrades from the Gateway website. I saw there was a BIOS update (file: 924G1P11.ROM) available so I tried to update my BIOS. Well, after updating my BIOS with the .ROM file that I had gotten from their website [URL], but after that, the on board ATI graphics adapter is no longer working. I tried to contact Gateway with no luck and them telling me that they don't recommend updating the BIOS. I also tried to contact the place where I purchased the motherboard from and they said that they didn't have the original .ROM. The motherboard is also not listed on the Foxconn website either. I am running Windows 7 x64 Build 7601 and I have also tried using a Ubuntu 12.04 LTS live USB and that did not work as well. As far as I can tell, the BIOS will not even recognize it. I am now currently using a NVIDIA GeForce GT 220 graphics card that is plugged into the 16x PCI-E slot. I have found modified .ROM files that someone had done for this motherboard, but I don't want to risk it. And every forum and post I've come across has dead links to ones that someone has made a copy of the .ROM file and uploaded from their motherboard.
My system is a Gateway DX4300-15e with 6 gb's of DDR2 RAM (originally 8 gb's of RAM, but a 2 gb stick blew out from a power surge, hence why I had to get a new motherboard) with a AMD Phenom II x4 970 Black Edition Deneb 3.5GHz Socket AM3 processor.
i only ever use firefox, and would always keep it and other programs such as flash and java up to date. one day, some websites just quit working, like facebook, Internet, netflix, and various game sites. this problem continued for a few weeks, and i didn't do anything to try and problem solve it. then everything seemed to magically fix itself, so i figured that an automatic update had done the trick. however, a few months ago those problems started again and since then i have read many threads on how to fix them, uninstalled and reinstalled ff, java and flash countless times, including past versions of all of them. i even tried using ie and chrome, but i had the same problems with those browsers. as of right now, i cannot view flash based game sites (such as omgpop).i used to not be able to play games on facebook, but as of yesterday those suddenly work again. i cannot watch streaming videos on netflix, but Internet works fine.i cannot view content on many web pages (for example google images does not work at all, nor does googlemaps or mapquest). some pages only load partially even though it says they are 'done'. i often see 'javascript:void(0)' on websites.currently i am running the current versions of java and flash and ff 3.6. i have checked pop up blockers and script enabling and just about everything else.i am at a total loss of what to do. (even as i am typing this, i cannot click on any of the text editing tools or smilies and this is showing up as one big paragraph) i've tried pretty much everything i can think of, as to manual installation and so forth.nothing works, nor changes anything.
so far it's only facebook (of websites) not working, and then of course flash and java.i would like to avoid comments such as: "just don't use facebook then *hurhhurh*" as the problem runs somewhat deeper than just not being able to use facebook. this computer is just about 4 months old as well, and i'm breaking my skull trying to figure out what the heck is causing this. on a side note i am up to date on both anti-spyware and anti-virus, and i've run several scans in both secure and normal mode.all comes up empty.
last night after applying a windows update none of my usb ports work. I have four onboard total. After installing the hotfix last night, two of them worked. After a reboot this morning im back to square one. Now last night before i got it briefly working, whatever i plugged in would charge but not be recognized by windows. Now i get nothing. no charge, no recognition.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've discovered three problems with this laptop and think they all might be related? Windows Update not working with error 0x80070057 - I have searched the internet for help on this and tried suggestions like; starting/stopping wuauserv service, deleting WinUpd cache. System Restore not working; unable to create restore points or restore (the last point is from November), this gives error 0x81000101 Shadow Copy Timeout. Again searched and tried fixing all suggestions like making sure the SysRestore services are running. Device Manager is completely blank; also tried suggested repairs like setting correct permissions on Enum folder in registry. On top of the problem specific fix attempts I've also done the following general fixes: sfc /scannow - found problems but unable to fix repaired registry from RegBack reset all Services to default ran combofix and malwarebytes chkdsk /r removed McAfee have checked Windows & Sytem32 folder for correct user permissions I'm sure I've done a few other things but can't recall everything I've tried.Have also tried Windows Repair but stays at "Checking Compatibilty" for hours.Generally Windows seems to be fine except for these three issues; system is quick and general useage is without issues.

How do I get the Information Bar to show up on my IE 8 screen (I understand that it should be right under the Address Window)? I think that, when Microsoft installed IE 8 for me a short time ago during an automatic update procedure, even though I had not asked for that to be done, that is when the Information Bar disappeared. I'm just guessing at that, but I think that is when that happened
