View 1 Replies View Related I used to have a keyboard shortcut to my screensaver but now It's not working.
I have tried and tried to make another one but have had no success.
I have done the google search for the answer but no help there.
I have a shortcut to one screensaver on my desktop and made a keyboard shortcut to it.
I have tried finding the screensaver folder in explorer but no luck there.
I have tried a multitude of searches on net and explorer,I have tried many keyboard shortcuts to the files I find to .scr but no luck.
Now I am asking here.
How to make a keyboard shortcut to the scrensaver .
I have a microsoft keyboard with multimedia keys. I have assigned one of the multimedia keys to the Instant Viewer feature from Intellitype Pro. I like this feature and think it would be more useful to put it on the mouse button but I have searched and cannot find any .exe for the Instant Viewer to create a program shortcut. I was thinking I could get around this by creating a shortcut to the multimedia key instead and then assigning that shortcut to the mouse. This is not the same as pressing Alt + Tab or Ctrl + Alt + Tab. The Intellitype Instant viewer covers the whole screen when activated while Alt + Tab just gives you a thin horizontal strip in the middle.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI would love it, if I could assign a button to my keyboard that would take the currently highlighted window, and move to it screen 1, 2 or 3 in it's exact current size and position..
Anyone know if that is possible? I know you can move them 1 screen at a time, but I'd like to be able to just hit a single key or shortcut.
I like to use keyboard shortcuts to start programs running. I assigned Ctrl+Alt+F to open Firefox (pinned to the Start Menu), but it would not work. I can use Ctrl+Shift+F and the shortcut works. Normally, I would assume that Ctrl+Alt+F conflicts with one already in use, but pressing that key combination, nothing happens. Is there a way to determine what keyboard shortcuts are assigned and which are available?
View 2 Replies View RelatedFirst af all, hi all, i'm new to the forum. I found it out couse i'm using windows 7 right now (well, i haven't any particular file on my desktop so nothing to loose) and i'm searching a few things to improve my (till now really good) experience with this os.
Now the little problem: i'm searching for a keyboard shortcut to switch through windows with aero peek (x-ray vision) just like i do with flip3d, is that possible?
The only thing i found near to what i'm searching is the shortcut to switch through active elements that is like moving the mouse over icons of pinned-apps, that is not the same.
Aero peek has many useful features but, compared to my standard work, it takes me too long to move mouse on an icon, wait for preview to show, than move again mouse on previews of different windows of the same app.
I'm trying to find out if there is a keyboard shortcut to move focus to the Address toolbar when it is added to the taskbar. (Again, this is the address bar in the taskbar, not the address bar in an explorer or browser window for which ALT+D is the shortcut.) I've searched Microsoft's list of Keyboard shortcuts, but did not find any information. And my Google searches have not found anything.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI encounter a problem recently. My keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+[left/right] arrow key doesn't work in any of my editors like: Microsoft word 2007; Microsoft wordpad; Open office writer and Abiword - I use this key combination for move between words in my word processors. Because of this problem is general in all of my editors I think this is not a software specific issue and belongs to my Win 7.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI sometimes have a problem where I try to bookmark a specific page in Firefox, but it won't add it to my bookmark list. It's extremely URL-specific, for example, one particular video on Vimeo won't add in Firefox, but other videos on the same site, with the same URL style, will. No problem adding the "problem" bookmarks as favorites in IE8.
Why is Firefox so finicky about refusing to add some sites to the bookmark list and is there a workaround?
This is on Win7x64. It's an older Firefox version (3.5.19), but not ancient.
I notice when I would like to save a web page in two different bookmarks it deletes one and therefore I can not save in two different folder locations. Is it possible to change this so I can save a web page in two different bookmark folders ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWith all the keyboard shortcuts available in Win 7, isn't there one to put the computer to sleep?
The system came with a discontinued mouse/keyboard business set. The keyboard had a "sleep" key. Alas, this keyboard was not liquid-proof and a cup of tea ended its brief career as my favorite keyboard. The new MS keyboards seem to have every key EXCEPT the "sleep" key.
How to Create a Windows 7 Screen Resolution Shortcut ?
View 0 Replies View RelatedI am running IE 8 , latest as of 10 Sept 11, Windows 7 Ultimate on an Intel Quad Core (9300), 8 GB RAM, 1.5 TB Drive. When I hit "Add to Favorite" on IE to book mark a link, it takes 20-40 seconds until I am prompted to save the link some 30-40 seconds later. Needless to say, this is very annoying. I tried the following troubleshooting to isolate the problem:
1- Installed IE 9 - Same Issue
2. I removed all my existing favorite links/folders from the "Favorites folder" under C/ Users) - thninking that the number of existing links/folders may be the cause - Same Issue
3. I uninstalled IE 9 and defaulted to IE 8 - Same Issue
4. I uninstalled IE 8 - i.e. no IE browser left in my OS since IE 7 can not run on Win 7- then reinstalled IE 9 - Same Issue
5. I tried firefox, it works like a charm.
I restored to earlier versions of windows backups but it did not help. I suspect that this issue has been there for a while - may be some file or registry entry is corrupted.
I was wondering if anyone knew how to make a shortcut to windows security screen. Not to the lock screen but the CTRL+ALT+DEL screen that has the five options (lock this computer, switch user, log off, change a password, and start task manager

I have recently upgraded to windows 7 pro on a nice new 1TB hard drive. I have removed the previously installed win xp drive, and that is now in an external caddy. I have been in the process of moving the files from the xp drive to the Windows 7 drive. I forgot to backup my IE8 bookmarks before the switch over, and have tried to find the actual bookmark links via windows explorer but can't find them. I have tried looking in dos and setting users favourites...but the bookmarks are not in there.
