Keyboard Shortcut To Hide/unhide Navigation Pane In Explorer?
Jul 9, 2011
Anybody know a native keyboard shortcut that will hide/unhide the Navigation Pane in Explorer? Something like how Alt + P works to hide/unhide the Preview Pane?I have a netbook and sometimes I need more horizontal space so its nice to hide the navigation pane temporarily.
I am having some problem, i get often when i want to save or open a file my explorer navigation plane does not appear at the window. Usually i scroll themwith button shortcuts.like this (explorer fine, but for open/save navigation pane vanishes)
What my plan is, is to remove Desktop from the Navigation Pane maybe using a Registry Hack but I think if it did, it would remove the others too since they expand from Desktop. I never use Desktop from Navigation Pane and just find it to be a nuisance to always have it collapsed and just remove it instead. I have already removed Favourites and if I can get Desktop to be removed I will remove the Homegroup and Network from that too using Brink's already made Tutorials.
I'm trying to fix a small annoyance of mine with Windows Explorer. I would like the "Computer" to be permanently expanded. Here are some images that will clarify what I am trying to accomplish. The 1st image is what my navigation pane currently looks like, the 2nd is what I would like for it to look like
1st Image 2nd Image
I would also like to remove certain items in the Navigation pane that I don't use such as "Network" and/or "Control Panel" if possible. I have tried a program that was suggested in another post which was suggested by the user mickey megabyte and can be found . However sadly, this program did not remove any of these unwanted items.
Blank navigation pane in Explorer when opened through an application such as Chrome or Word. I can use Explorer just fine normally, unless I try to open up a file. Then I get this: . Changing the theme doesn't seem to work.
how the left window reacts when I select a folder.
If I have a long list of folders in the left window and I click on the small arrow to the left of a folder, it is supposed to show the list of sub-folders that are in the selected folder.
It does but here is my problem. Lets say the folder that I select is in the middle of the left window. When I click on the small arrow, Windows Explorer shifts the folder list down so that the selected folder is near the bottom of the window. Generally I can only see one of the sub-folders. And then I have to use the slider to move the selected folder up so I can see more than one sub-folder.
I wish it would leave the folder where it was and show as many sub-folders as possible underneath the selected folder.
I blieve it may be linked to the new video card that I installed. After I changed the stock video graphics card that came with this HP desktop station (Win 7 64-bit), this started happening. I changed the video card to yet another one - the problem still there..
Not sure if this is due to my hardware or some setting in Windows 7. I have Win 7 Pro x64 on a Sony Vaio ZPCZ11. Using the MS Natural Wireless Laser Mouse 7000. In the file view of Windows File Explorer, if I click in the space and wheel scroll, everything works fine and the scrolling is smooth. But when I click in the Navigation Pane (Folder List) and try the same thing, it wants to scroll an entire page at a time. I cannot get the smooth mouse scrolling to work in this Pane!
want to be able to have a completely clear desktop, void of icons and start toolbar with a hot key. However, I would like to be able have access to the start toolbar and able to have desktop icons available to me. This is where the hot key would come into play: the ability to hide/unhide both sets (icons and toolbar) simultaneously
While wrestling with a problem on my desktop computer with XP Pro OS I'm having to use a laptop with Windows 7 that Im not at all familiar with. Can someone please tell me how to move the Navigation Pane from the left to the right in MS Office 2007 Outlook Express?
frequently my navigation pane at the bottom of my desktop disappears. it usually happens when i leave the laptop running. i can't seem to go to system restore since it only lets me go back to the previous day. this has been going on for over a week and i do not know how to resolve the issue. i have searched the internet to find solutions but have not been able to do so. to resolve the problem i have to bring up the task manger and end explorer. then i have to run explorer again for the navigation bar/pane to appear.
When I click on an item inthe navigation pane and want to scroll down to a certain folder in the main window, the mouse wheel stays on the nav pane. Have to go and click in the main window to scroll.
If you click the navigation pane, then the wheel should in my opinion default over to scroll on the main pane. It's a little bothersome to have to keep clikckingto scroll after i just cliked to open that item in the navitgation pane already.
confused yet? maybe the pic will better describe it. I know it's not a big deal, but......
Like in the pic i clicked on music folder in the left nav pane, i would want it to scroll over on right without having to click mouse again. Maybe it's a matter of preference, but that's mine.
I was wondering if it was possible to make the folders nested in the Favorites of the Navigation Pane. AFAIK nested folders work in both Libraries and Computer of the Navigation Pane, however when moved to Favorites they are just a simple link.
in MS Word , Navigation pane has been Freez. and not able to enable it with Option " View > Navigation Pane. when i am trying to find word by "Ctrl +F ", not opening Navigation pane bar.

Sometimes when I open (click or double click) a folder on the navigation pane (folder browser on the left pane of windows explorer), somehow the folder will automatically scrolled down to the bottom. Not always, but sometimes. Is there anyway to stop it from scrolling down unintentionally?
