Once upon a time, I could connect computer and laptop on my Motorola SB5101e modem, since it has ethernet and USB.
Suddenly, something changed, and no long I can connect both.
Now, if I try to connect laptop (and regularly using internet on computer previously), on laptop will be "No or limited connectivity (laptop is XP).
I asked Cable operator why is this, and they said that it has to be like that, bla bla...
Somethimes, I lose connection on my computer, and "no or limited..." shows, exclamation mark also.
Well, it's not written "no or limited..", because computer is on my native language.
I saw that some user on this forum, whose nick is "zay", said that this can be easily bypassed if Cable is used as ISP.
I know that there's problem with ip configuration (or protocol).
Somethimes, if this problem can't be solved just by turning computer and modem off, I have to call cable operator to say him to "restart (or reset) "something"".
What do they "restart" (or reset)?
After that, everything works fine.
So, I would like to know what do they do in that kind of situation (what they do reset), and is there any possibility for me to solve that without calling them?
Yesterday I updated to v. 2.2 Of Sun Virtualbox and have lost my connection to the Internet on Windows 7. The 'VirtualBox Host - Only Network Status' reports "limited or no connectivity". This is because "the Network did not assign a Network Address to the Computer". I have not been able to solve this problem, the icon in the sys. tray has a yellow marker against it.
I have normal connectivity on Windows XP.
I cannot wind back using System Restore as there are no restore points. I do have a drive image of my C; drive dated just prior to the update, would this work?. Is there an easier way?.
A few days ago I booted up my HP Pavilion dv4-2049wm laptop. Windows update needed to reboot, due to my postponing it for a few days, so I let it reboot and I started getting blue screens. After a few restarts (getting the BSOD every time), I booted into the last known good configuration. It booted up fine, but now I can no longer connect to my network (wired and wireless). It sees my wireless connection, but states "Limited Access."
Things I have tried: - Uninstalled/Updated network drivers from HP's site, specific to my laptop model. - Uninstalled all windows updates that were installed before BSOD - Flushed, registered, renewed dns via command prompt - Reset Winsock via command prompt - Tried a "clean" boot - Ran Windows Check Disk - Ran Windows Memory Tester (Unsure of exact name)
On the day of the crash I attempted to do a restore, but the earliest restore I could do was at the time of the windows update (same time as BSOD). One thing I did notice is that the "Teredo Tunneling Pseudo_Interface" listed under network adapters is no longer there. Not sure what that might have to do with anything. I ran this tool (Who Crashed/Crashdump) and here is my log:

On your computer a total of 26 crash dumps have been found. Only 21 could be analyzed. Only 15 are included in this report. 2 third party drivers have been identified to be causing system crashes on your computer. It is strongly suggested that you check for updates for these drivers on their company websites. Click on the links below to search with Google for updates for these drivers:
If no updates for these drivers are available, try searching with Google on the names of these drivers in combination the errors that have been reported for these drivers and include the brand and model name of your computer as well in the query.
My new Samsung laptop has just stopped allowing me access to the internet. Its not a problem with the router as I have a wired connection to a desktop that is fine. My laptop has been working ok but now I just get 'Limited Access' from the status bar. All the other checks have been made with ISP the Intel(R) Centrino(R) wireless N130 is supposed to be working according to the network properties dialogue box. Also have wired the ethernet from desktop to laptop and still the same response so narrowing it down to the possible driver software.
I work at a company in the UK which is attempting to start rolling out Windows 7 to all computers (early adopters and all that, it's just a lot easier than the current mishmash of OSes we have!). One of the 4 users migrated so far is having an odd issue with her wired network (her network controller is a "Broadcom Netlink Gigabit Ethernet"). She's the only person not from the IT dept or the MD of the company to be moved across, so we set her up as a non-administrator to avoid problematic software etc etc.
Suddenly, 3 days ago, whenever she switched on her computer, the connection would claim "Limited or No Connectivity" (even though she appeared to be connected to the Domain), and there was no Internet access. Having played around with numerous things (driver updates, both from Broadcom and HP - the laptop manufacturer, being the main one), I found the only way to get it working again was to disable and re-enable the network controller. The problem with this is that it required a UAC authorization (even though I'd set UAC to never notify), and that requires a domain administrator password (which is a pain in the wotsit).
Anyway, I figured, reluctantly, that if I set her account up as a local administrator, that at least it shouldn't require a password to reset the device. Rebooted the PC, and suddenly the wired network started working from boot without the need to reset the controller.
My question is - has anyone else had any issues with non-administrators being forced to reset their network controllers to get internet connectivity, and is there a known fix?
I cannot access my internet and don't know why. When i try to access the internet it says I have 'limited access' although I have a full internet connection. Does anyone know how to fix this please? I have a Windows 7 operating system
My laptop suddenly stopped being able to connect to the network in my house and for that obviously it doesn't have any internet. It doesn't work either by connecting a cable or trying to use the wireless, here are the detaills for each case: When I connect the cable, the laptop detects it, but doesn't detect any network, it doesn't seem to even be trying. I checked on the network adapters, and it clearly says "enabled" when connected and when disconnected it changes to "No network cable plugged in". When I try to connect to my network, it always ends up saying "Limited access", when I tried troubleshooting, it said that there may be an error with the network drivers, I tried the fix there, and then it says that there must be an error with the network adapters.
Here's what I have tried so far: -Reinstalling the devices and drivers, when I check them in device manager, it says that both the wireless and network driver are working properly. -I tried resetting the router. -Tried resetting the bios of the computer to it's factory ones. - Tried resetting IPv4 and IPV6, along with the IP/TCP using the command prompt, still no go.
When I try to ipconfig /release or ipconfig /renew, I get an error saying the next thing: "An error ocurred while releasing interface Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1: they System cannot find the file specified. The operation failed as no adapter is in the state permissible for this operation."
Here is my info when using ipconfig /all: Host name... : Jorge -NB Primary Dns Suffix : Empty Node Type : Hybrid IP Routing Enabled: No Wins Proxy Enabled: No

I have this problem with my new Asus laptop which was fine yesterday, but cannot connect to any wireless network now. When I click the Network connections button on my task bar it shows me my internet connection with the words Limited Access next to it. I've been on google for a good 2 hours and can't really find the answer. I may know what's wrong, however. Yesterday I pressed the shutdown button on my laptop and then it starts those automatic updates that happen when you shut down. It said something like "Updating 1 of 1 updates". It took a while so I put thelaptops screen down, and when I checked on it again 5 minutes later... Blue screen. I held the power button down on my laptop and shrugged it off.. but now I can't connect to any wireless network.Assuming the network driver is the thing that was updating last night, I searched up what to do, Rollback the dri
m using toshiba satellite L640 when i try 2 connect 2 internet it keeps on acquiring network address and shows limited connectivity in windows 7 home premium..
I have been using my home internet in my new place for a couple of weeks fine, yesterday morning when I tried it it had the limited access yellow triangle and wouldnt connect.I reset the router and connected to the wifi on my iphone which worked fine, I checked the DNS numbers were the same as on my iphone which they were and I had not changed any settings. I spent the entire day yesterday online looking for solutions, Ive reset the adapter, disabled it etc, set the ip and dns to automatic and back again etc etc. When my wifi tries to connect to my home internet it takes a LONG time to identify and then identifies it either as an unidentified network and/or public. Even when I change it to home it changes it back to public or just doesnt let me change it to home and says try again later.
Ps- I just tried disabling then re-enabling the protocol 6 on the wifi which isnt working and it just said in order to configure TCP/IP, you must install and enable a network adapter card. But then it just let me configure it and is still connected but with limited access and public network.
I have a brand new acer aspire notebook and I'm trying to connect to my airport extreme card built into my iMac desktop. The laptop sees the signal just fine, but it will not connect to the Internet and I get "limited access". What can I do to connect?
Last night I was on the internet at home absolutely fine and my laptop automatically downloaded an update, since then I have been unable to connect to my wi-fi. I deleted the updates and was still unable to connect, so I tried to used a system recovery restore point and every one I use starts but fails to complete. So, I did a factory reset after around 8 hours of trying to sort it out today and I STILL have the same problem. I can plug in the cable to connect and my housemate is having absolutely no issues connecting and neither is my phone so now I am at a total loss what I should do to resolve this. Prior to the factory reset I was able to connect to the wi-fi but it was stating no network access/limited access and now it simply won't connect to my internet at all. It finds my full strength signal but will not connect. My drivers for the Broadcom 4313 802.11b/g/n card are the most up to date and the laptop (HP G62) says it is working fine.
I have a Linksys Wireles-G USB Network Adapter (Model #: WUSB54GC) that wont fully connect to my home Wi-Fi network. "Limited Access" is as far as I can get. The Windows Troubleshooter just says there might be a problem with the driver, even though I downloaded the latest version driver and installed correctly.
When I started using my computer this morning everything was fine, and then "no network access" kept appearing, along with "limited connection/connectivity". I would troubleshoot the problem, but then at the end of the troubleshoot it would freeze, and my screen went black, so I had to turn my computer off and then on again. This problem has persisted throughout the day, I've googled it but nothing really the same as this has turned up .
I wanted to delete a folder in my documents but it was giving me an error which I cannot remember exactly now, but after doing some research, most sites had suggested that I run a Chkdsk. My computer successfully completed the Chkdsk, but now my computer is in some sort of coma where it loads up fine, but after logging in, there is no text whatsoever on the screen. On top of this the start bar does not work and any explorer based functions are extremely large, pixelated and absent text.I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate x32 on a 2009 Toshiba Satellite In the last year of high school and don't have most of my files backed up anywhere?
My son's account was limited, but after I installed Steam for him, he had to use "Run as" and then get me to enter my Admin account details so that he could run it. This was getting tedious so I changed his account to an Admin type. Is there a way to put his account back to Limited (Family Safety will then work again) and still run Steam without using "Run as" and me entering details every time?
I have three profiles on my Windows 7 PC; myself (Administrator), my Wife, and the Kids; both of which are Limited.Every once in a while one of them needs to ask me to install a program or sometimes I log in to their account to clean up their desktop of shortcuts they dont need.My question is when I just log in normally I can't just right click on the icons and delete since it says I need admin privvies. Well I am an admin. Why isn't there a dialog box or some way to work within the "Limited" User Account but with elevated admin privledges? Same goes for installing programs. As of now I have to log into MY account and temporarily change their user statuses to Administrator, log into their accounts, take care of buisness, log out and back into my account, then remove the Admin rights.

My daughter has a laptop connected to our wireless broadband from Virgin and was working fine for last 6 months then overnight it changed to limited access and will not let her on internet. When we try to diagnose problem it says problem with network adapter driver. We cannot update driver as no acces to internet. Shee needs this working for going back to university next week so can anyone help us.
I just recently purchased my Asus X53SV-MH71 laptop. For the first week I was able to connect to internet/wifi at my school perfectly fine. But now it keeps coming up as "Limited Connectivity." I've read some solutions over the web but none have seem to solved my problem. At this moment I am currently connected through an ethernet cable. If anyone can help me that would be great. I will provide the "ipconfig /all" cmd below.
I have a COMPAQ Presario CQ62-215DX Notebook. This laptop ran very well until the day its internet suddenly failed. When I try to connect to my WiFi connection, it says "The computer currently has limited connectivity to X". I tried troubleshooting, and it said there was a problem with my network adapter. I went to Control Panel > Hardware & Sound> Device Manager. From there, I disabled and enabled all of my adapters, but my internet was still non-functional. The problem isn't my router, because my husband and kids are connected perfectly. Is there a way to solve this issue, or do I have to get an expert to EDIT: I saw on a thread that I should try uninstalling and re-installing an updated network adapter, but how am I supposed to do that without internet?
im having trouble with my wifi. The day before it works fine but then the next day i turned on my Vaio laptop and it says Limited Access to my home wifi. I tried connecting to other wifi but same thing. I tried resetting the router, disabling and enabling the wireless connection but all didnt work. I tried connecting it with the cable directly still cannot connect. Finally i did a system restore to the day before where its working fine, it worked. The next day it says Limited Access again! So im guessing 'something' made my wifi error after that 1 day and i dont know what to do
As the title suggests, I want to create a user in win7 limited to its desktop (and desktop shortcuts) only. Should not be able to access my computer or any other drives or browse the internet
I recently just got a laptop for college.Today I tried to connect to the internet and it's connected but its says Limited access. I have been looking online to fix this problem and they say to go online. But when I open a browser I can't connect. I was wondering how I fix this? I have a cable that connects to my router. But it's still saying limited access to any internet connection that I can use (ex. wireless, cable).
I have recently installed Windows 7 on our two wfi networked pcs. The older of the two consists of a Asus A8N-VM CMS mobo with 3Gb Ram and Athlon 64 3000+ CPU. The second pc has an Asus M5A78L-M LX mobo ithe 4GB Ram and Athlon II X2 Dual core 250 3.00GHz cpu. Both were previously running XP and had no bandwidth or streaming issues. Since loading W7, the older pc is having problems with low bandwidth when playing live tv fromthe BBC for instance, but if XP is started there is no problem at all.
The newer pc streams perfectly and I could watch tv on it all day without it freezing.I have also found that IE9 makes it worse and have gone back toIE8.
Have windows 7 os and have a problem connecting to certain websites e.g. google, hotmail etc but otherwise can surf the net. Tried diagnosing problem and the message came up "your dns server might be unavailable." I have tried troubleshooting from online advice - resetting the router, restarting everything, tried resetting the dns cache and changing the ip address but that just lead to an ip conflict.
I have had a little bit of trouble with my internet connection lately. sometimes i just get limited connection or it will just stop working. what i mean by that is it'll be working fine and then i get a little yellow exclamation mark over my wireless and it says limited access and i can't connect to the internet. i try disabling it and then re-enabling it, troubleshooting, and turning my router on and off again. i think it generally works fine when i restart my computer, but i don't want to have to be restarting all the time and having an unreliable connection. i've got a thomson tg585 v8 wireless router and under my device manager it says i have Atheros AR9285 Wireless network adapter and intel 82579V Gigabit Network connection.
I know there are few Limited connectivity threads but ive checked them, non of them have the answer im looking for so ill just tell you the story.I accidentily downloaded a malware/adware program called Antimalware Doctor, i tried going into safe mode and using multiple programs to delete it (Malware bytes, Spybot - Search and Destroy & AVG command line scanner) they apprently deleted it , i loaded my comp back to normal mode and there it was back in there corner >
i managed to get rid of the program by bringing up task manager and removing the process called "sorttm700" (thats what the antimalware doctor program was called in the toolbar when i hovered over it) then going to my computer and searching for sorttm700, i deleted all the folders with sorttm700 in them and rebooted and no more annoying ads to buy fake software however i still have limited connectivity (it became limited while the malware was on my computer and before i took any action to resolve it)i am trying to use the same network as the computer i am using now ot send this message, i never get connection problems with my laptop using this connection i have tried reseting my router and modem as well as uninstalling the driver and reinstalling and now there is a red cross with no options to connect to an access point, my wifi on my laptop is on before you ask?
