Aug 17, 2011so im recording with fraps for my Internet, and windows started limiting file sizes to 3.98 gb in my gameplay folder. so at 720p, the games get split into about 6 or 7 pieces

"Limited Or No Connectivity" When Using Video Chat?
Sep 17, 2012I've noticed when using skype, or other webchat utilities like omegle - chatroulette, that the conversation can only last anywhere from a matter of seconds to 20 or 30 minutes before the connection quality drops and i get "limited or no connectivity" for my internet connection. I must reboot to get internet connectivity back, sometimes a couple times. Usually the first attempt will last at least 5 minutes, then subsequent attempts - after restarts - seem to get shorter and shorter sometimes only last a few seconds even. A few times i have been able to time skype calls because at exactly 3 minutes the internet would drop me.I have tried going to options - connections - unchecking pnp, or unchecking ALL boxes ive even heard in some posts. Tried that with not much effect. I have made sure that my firewall has exceptions for skype.
I have tried forwarding the port on my router that skype claims to use for connections in the options. I am using a linksys wrt54g wireless router but my connection is hardlines to the router. I am using an archaic form of DSL that is very slow on a phone line that has degraded but I am still able to play high-bandwidth using multiplayer games for long periods of time with no interruption. I recently took my computer to another persons house with a new router and much higher bandwidth connection and had the same problem. I have also noticed this problem when downloading torrents but reducing the number of peer connections seemed to greatly improve the problem - not completely eliminate it. I suspect it may have something to do with my hardware? I also remember clearing all temp files and resetting internet options helped for a little while but the problem came back quickly. Sometimes I have been able to have longer skype calls that last a good amount of time and it doesnt drop me but that is rare, i dont know why that is. I am almost beginning to think I have some sort of a virus that is interferring with the internet at times possibly from some remote source because the actions it takes seem to be "intelligent" at times but maybe I am just paranoid.
A couple odd things to mention that may mean somethingAfter restarting my pc a couple times to regain internet connection and retry my skype call, sometimes instead of my internet connection disconnecting i actually get a BSOD and my computer automatically reboots itself. Not often maybe 1 out of 10 restarts. It says something aboutIRQL_DRIVER_NOT_EQUAL_LESS something but its fast. this hasnt happened with chatroulette or omegle JUST skype.Also i noticed at my residence i cannot remove the router and hardline connect right to the modem it gives me "limited or no connectivity" at the house with the faster internet i went to, i could not use their router i had to hardline to the modem - the router would give me "limited or no connectivity"
Why Do Video Files In Windows 7 Always Appear At Least Twice In The Video Folder?
Oct 30, 2011Why do video files in windows 7 always appear at least twice in the video folder? Deleting the surplus ones means that all (with the same name) vanish. I'd be grateful for the explanation that enables me to have just one of each.

They do, however, appear in the window when 'Record' is selected. I've checked 'Show Hidden Files' in Folder Options to no avail... any suggestions welcome! Since checking out the various builds after 7000, right up to the latest RC build 7100, I have nothing but problems when playing video files. I can easily add the title and album information, but when it comes to the date (which I just want to be the year which the media was made in) it hardly ever works. Some files I can simply just right click on it, go to properties, click the detail tab and enter the year where it says media. a funny thing i notice is that when i move my mouse to the minimized windows on taskbar, the preview only flash out for a short time then disappear even i don't move my mouse, not sure if this has anything to do with my problem though.

Jun 1, 2011I recently purchased a new computer, and need some help finding the right video editing software. My previous computer couldn't support .3gp files (the format cell phones shoot video in), so I bought AVS Video Editor. Worked fine. Now the new computer (Win7 Home Premium) has a version of Windows Movie Maker on it that seems to play nice with .3gp files. BUT the new version of Windows Movie Maker is WAY too simple, or I just can't figure out where everything is. So I need to purchase new software. AVS might be fine again, but if there's any other input, I'm game.
Here's what I need:
1. Ability to work with .3gp files is a must.
2. Ability to display the preview on top and timeline/storyboard on bottom with separate lines for extra audio, subtitles, etc. is preferred.
3. If I could rotate videos 90 degrees, that would be nice. Sometimes cell phone videos don't get recorded at the right angle.

Feb 23, 2012When using the WMC I have noticed crackling sounds when playing m2ts video files containing AVC and AC-3. I have noticed crackling sounds primarily on start up of the video file and sporadically during playback. At first I thought it might be a hw issue but now I'm not so sure. BTW the video playback appears to be okay...just a problem with the audio.
On the windows sw side I am fully up to date i.e. with Windows 7 HP x64.
On the hardware side I have updated by video and audio drivers to the latest...in fact all the drivers are upto date. The Machine is an Acer Aspire X1470 desktop model with 4 GB of ram. AMD Radeon HD 6410D Graphics (display adapter). AMD A4-3400 APU.
I have tried connecting the audio thru the on-board sound system. I've also tried using an external USB based sound I/F. Which one I use makes no difference...The crackling still comes thru.
Part of the reason I'm led to believe this is not strickly a hw issue is because I've tried playing these same files with XBMC and they play cleanly. So it would seem there is some kind of interaction issue hw and sw when using WMC on this computer. BTW I've tried using WMP (my preferred choice) but the audio and video degradation is markedly worse than WMC. I've included the Media info data for one of the files I've played below:

Can't View .MOV Video Files Or Hear .MP4s
Feb 26, 2011I downloaded K Lite Codec after reading that that's what I need to make Windows Media Player play .MOV files.
It didn't work. I still got a "Codec Needed" error.
So I searched online again, and found Quicktime Alternative 322, and although installing that "successfully" the software still won't play the files.
I have had a lot of trouble with Windows 7 putting drivers/ codecs in strange places, and having to go online and find laborious instructions of how to locate them and transfer them to the correct location.
I am seriously wishing I had asked for an XP machine to be built. I have had to buy a new printer despite my old two working perfectly on my XP PC. Then it took two days to get my mobile phone's software working on Windows 7, and now to cap it all, I cannot watch any of the videos from my main Olympus camera, nor hear videos from my mobile phone.

But for some reason files like .Mp4 would show thumbnails/an image of the video while my MKV files just show an Icon. I have installed K-Lite codec pack 5.2.0 (64Bit) to enable my WMP to watch several files. Also I have try installing the Divx preview thing (Forgot what's it called) and it does make the Mkv show the thumbnail but it lags incredibly when I play it. Have now noticed a warning in the manual:- "Movies recorded on SDXC cards cannot be imported to or played back on computers not supporting the exFAT file system by connecting the camcorder with the USB cable. Check in advance that the computer is supporting the exFAT system. It further says that if connected to equipment not supporting exFAT and the format screen appears do not perform the the format as all data recorded will be lost."I have read that Windows 7 does support exFAT, but my PC hard drive is formatted NTFS and I gather this is the only option.
