For some reason when I export videos, they end up having this little gold lock in the lower left. Anyone know what it means, or how to remove, or maybe causing it?
It plays for me, but I can't use it for editing like I need too.....it ends up playing scrambled
I have an MS windows 7 64 bit system. I used CCleaner to clean the registry but did not backup the changes. I have lost my media and video thumbnail view for my movie files with an avi extension. I use both winamp and a VLC media player to play my movies and tv programs.Could the registry cleaning have changed something and is there a way to get the thumbnails back?
I have windows 7 Ultimate x64, i used to be able to see thumbnail previews on all my video files.I can no longer see thumbnail for my .mod and .mp4 files but can see .avi andThis started after i uninstalled Nero 10I Have tryed Start -> Computer -> Right Click -> Properties -> Advanced system settings in left panel -> Click the first button named "Settings" in right panel, and check Show thumbnails instead of icons with no joyalso tryedsetting Widows media player as default andDefault file type associations - restore for mpeg
Must be one of the most often asked question, but I haven't found correct reply yet - how to disable Windows 7 64 bit File manager to display video thumbnail preview on right panel?
regsrv32 /u shmedia.dll doesn't work - file not found.Preferred is to disable all video extensions with the same option, as there are rare formats which I'm not aware, but the slow PC down or may hang PC for several minutes.
Any way how or if you can lock or protect individual files or even whole folders with a password or other means? intended for a home pc which everyone uses but i do not want the others at home have access to certain files or folders?
I have some files that I would like to hide from anyone that may use my computer. I already know how to hide folders/files in the 'folder and search options.' However, when I hide my files/folders and then search for one of the file names in the Start Menu search bar, the file will show up despite it be hidden and the 'Do not show hidden files' option is checked. I also attempted to put a password on the folder (one folder has all the files I want hidden) using this site for a guideline: How to create a Password Protected Folder in Windows 7hen I lock the folder, I can still search for the files in the Start Menu search bar and they will open without the password. Is there a better site or program to effectively lock my folder/files? And what can I do to prevent the Start Up search from looking for my hidden files.
Why do video files in windows 7 always appear at least twice in the video folder? Deleting the surplus ones means that all (with the same name) vanish. I'd be grateful for the explanation that enables me to have just one of each.
I didn't used to have this problem before. For some unknown reason, all my video files have a separate PNG file next to it with a picture of the thumbnail. I don't remember changing any viewing options that may have triggered this.
Have a Dericam web cam, working fine, but when I set it to record a window appears to allow me to choose where the file is to be saved, ie My Documents, but when I return to Documents using Windows Exlorer or Media Player the files cannot be seen. They do, however, appear in the window when 'Record' is selected. I've checked 'Show Hidden Files' in Folder Options to no avail... any suggestions welcome! (I have a jpeg of the 'Window' but can't remember how to insert it...)
If I attach a device with video files and play the files on the computer, there is no sound. Sound for other music and video files on the computer does work. I thought initially, maybe Skypes sound settings were taking over, and needed to be changed, and I modified some of skypes audio settings but it had no effect. I did not find the sound controls in Windows 7, that I am used to adjusting in Windows XP
i have a new system running windows 7 home premium and when i play short video's like Internet(4 min) or any like video, it stops several times to buffer. my old vista system didn't do this very much. is there a setting to adjust for this?
so im recording with fraps for my Internet, and windows started limiting file sizes to 3.98 gb in my gameplay folder. so at 720p, the games get split into about 6 or 7 pieces
Running Windows 7 Pro X64. Some *.avi files show thumbnails but others show an icon. Folder view options the same for all sub-folders in the main video folder. "Always show icons, never thumbnails" is unchecked. Switching that setting causes a change in some folders but not in others. Not a train smash.
Recently I've changed my OS from XP to Windows 7 64 bit home premiume. with the last OS I used to convert my Flash files (swf) with the software - Amor Swf to Avi or with Adobe flash cs3 by exporting to Avi/mpeg or other codec files. After Ive upgreated to windows 7 this simple converting opperation is failing. I thought the peoblem were with lack of codecs so i've downloaded K-lite Pack - but it didn't help. I've tried another convert software and still no luck.
My burner is PLDS DVD+-RW DH-16ABS ATA Device (16x). I'm running Window 7 64 bit with Intel i5, 4 GB Ram on a Dell Inspiron 620s desktop. Earlier I had no issues at all burning DVD-Rs. But all of a sudden when I try to burn videos I get "unspecified recorder error". I used the same brand media as earlier (Sony) and tried many different disks but to no avail. Tried Nero 8 & Imgburn, but both don't work. I can burn the same files to CD-R & DVD-RW. I can also burn data files to DVD-R but not videos & ISO. Tried restarting the computer & updating the driver. Just one time, the disk wouldn't eject & had to use a pin to manually eject. What could possibly have gone wrong? The burner's lowest speed is 6x,
i have a Studio XPS 435T/9000 with a plds dvd +-rwdh-16aas burner. the drive dosen't register on my hardware, and will not respond when a c.d. is placed into it. (Auto play does not work).i've downloaded several drivers for 64 bit from dell, but it conflicts when extracted. (Says i have a 64 bit system and will not work.)
i've notices windows 7 add all sort of new meta data for it's video files.which is cool, but for some reason i cant edit those details. they seems to be locked. How can i Edit video details??
My computer is acting strangely and cannot seem to play video files without them freezing up. I can play up to about 10 mins of video before the audio starts getting scratchy and the video freezes and jumps or my computer will just shut down.
How do I transfer files from my old video-card destroyed Sony to my new laptop using Windows 7 also? I have the belkin easy transfer usb cable but that won't work since I need to activate it on the old pc. What other options do I have?
In the beginning, I had no problems with Win 7 build 7000. I could play whatever video file I wanted and it would work perfectly. Since checking out the various builds after 7000, right up to the latest RC build 7100, I have nothing but problems when playing video files. No matter which player I use, be it WMP, KMPlayer, VLC or Media Player Classic, I get a BSOD after trying to open a video file, including DVD.
(Actually, that is not strictly true as I can open *.mpg files for some strange reason.) I have tried changing my video card for an older ASUS ATI card but got the same result - BSOD. So, my question to you folks is: Can anyone give me a clue as to what might be wrong?
I have a bunch of videos on my computer, and I want to add some basic information for them, such as title, album information, and date. I can easily add the title and album information, but when it comes to the date (which I just want to be the year which the media was made in) it hardly ever works. Some files I can simply just right click on it, go to properties, click the detail tab and enter the year where it says media. [code] Does anyone know a way to fix this so that I can put a year for all my videos? I want this so that I can just sort all my videos by the year in which it was created.
i have some troubles to play all kind of media files now. the problem comes out a few days ago and i have no idea what may be the reason. i am very sure i didn't install anything to my computer and there is no notifications to tell me anything that is damaged etc. and i just reinstall the entire computer once today but the problem is ongoing!!!!!!!!!!i am running my computer on windows 7 Pro X86. And the problems is that doesn't matter what media player i use and no matter what type of files i try to play they start to play for about one second then automatically stopped. but if i switch the media player to background then they can play the file till it finish. so far i have tried windows media player VLC KMplayer Real player and quick time player. the file i have tried are mp3 mp4 flv mkv wma wmv avi 3gp and ape.
a funny thing i notice is that when i move my mouse to the minimized windows on taskbar, the preview only flash out for a short time then disappear even i don't move my mouse, not sure if this has anything to do with my problem though.
I would like to edit the cover art of video files (especially WMV files). How can I do that? Are there any good editors that can edit the "icon image" of a video file?
I recently purchased a new computer, and need some help finding the right video editing software. My previous computer couldn't support .3gp files (the format cell phones shoot video in), so I bought AVS Video Editor. Worked fine. Now the new computer (Win7 Home Premium) has a version of Windows Movie Maker on it that seems to play nice with .3gp files. BUT the new version of Windows Movie Maker is WAY too simple, or I just can't figure out where everything is. So I need to purchase new software. AVS might be fine again, but if there's any other input, I'm game.
Here's what I need:
1. Ability to work with .3gp files is a must.
2. Ability to display the preview on top and timeline/storyboard on bottom with separate lines for extra audio, subtitles, etc. is preferred.
3. If I could rotate videos 90 degrees, that would be nice. Sometimes cell phone videos don't get recorded at the right angle.
the files that require any sort of video won't work on my windows 7 pc. i'm trying to play some pc games and they simply don't load. video files on my computer only play audio. if i stream any video from websites such as Internet, the flash player becomes unresponsive. i've updated my video card driver.
some specs: windows 7 -64 bit intel i7 930 radeon hd 5800 series
Most video file types are showing this icon when set to open in Media Player Classic:What's strange is that it only shows that icon in details and list view.
