For some reason, video files [all types] will refuse to play and it will revert to audio only. When I close firefox and run CCleaner though, the video will work again for a short amount of time before reverting back to audio only.

how can I play a video in jet audio (or any other media program) on one monitor while I play a fullscreen game on the other. I can get it to work with streams off of website like own3d.tv and twitch.tv, and I can even run the streams in full screen. However when I try to run a movie through jet audio or even just play music through zune player, they freeze up. The audio will still come through, but either the picture is frozen in place or the zune player seems to get frozen.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought an Nvidia 570gtx and I am able to have both audio and sound to play on my TV as a second monitor. However to do this I have to go into windows 7 screen resolution screen and duplicate the displays though ones 1900x1200 and the Tv is 1920x1080 causing the PC screen to look funky but I can live with it to launch the games.I than have to go into the sound properties and set the default for the system to the HDMI cable and I can play my games on the TV like I want. (about 30 feet away)When done I have to come back and undue each setting to get control back to my PC.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate x86 on my Dad's HP Compaq Presario. PC has a 2.2 Gig AMD processor (processor is a 64bit but had glitches when I tried the Windows 7 64bit OS) w/2GB DDR2 Mem. All drivers are the originals from when the PC had Win XP Home on it, except for what ever Windows 7 swapped out on install. WMP12 will only play the supplied demo video and that appears as a duo image in a split screen with playback in black and white. Plays ALL audio fine, even CD's. Will Not play any Video DVD's. Installed Power DVD 11 and same problem. Windows 7 say's something about not enough memory installed and close running programs to free up memory. All programs are closed except WMP12. Have increased page file size to 1024low/8192high and every thing seems to work fine except WMP12 & PowerDVD video

View 7 Replies View Relatedi have some troubles to play all kind of media files now. the problem comes out a few days ago and i have no idea what may be the reason. i am very sure i didn't install anything to my computer and there is no notifications to tell me anything that is damaged etc. and i just reinstall the entire computer once today but the problem is ongoing!!!!!!!!!!i am running my computer on windows 7 Pro X86. And the problems is that doesn't matter what media player i use and no matter what type of files i try to play they start to play for about one second then automatically stopped. but if i switch the media player to background then they can play the file till it finish. so far i have tried windows media player VLC KMplayer Real player and quick time player. the file i have tried are mp3 mp4 flv mkv wma wmv avi 3gp and ape.
a funny thing i notice is that when i move my mouse to the minimized windows on taskbar, the preview only flash out for a short time then disappear even i don't move my mouse, not sure if this has anything to do with my problem though.
resently, when i was trying to get Itunes to work(never mind about itunes, not the problem) i dud deeper into the problem and i gone through some regedit stuff at the RUN wich i was told to do if Itunes was gonna work and then my audio stopped working, my media files to but i can still play games (without audio). dont really know what to do?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI use Dell studio 1558 WIN7 x64 .And this problem showed up a couple of weeks ago. The problem is ,When I open any media file be it any video or mp3 on my laptop..the media player or any other player lets say realplayer crashes or gives and error saying "encountered some problem ".And at the same the same time can't play any video or audio on any of my browser and browser crashes . System Restore solves the problem and brings everything back to normal.BUT then again in a day or two,the problem comes back and I have to restore again.I have done System Restore 6 times so far.and yet again the problem has showed up again and not allowing me to do anything except simple browsing without any audio or video.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen using the WMC I have noticed crackling sounds when playing m2ts video files containing AVC and AC-3. I have noticed crackling sounds primarily on start up of the video file and sporadically during playback. At first I thought it might be a hw issue but now I'm not so sure. BTW the video playback appears to be okay...just a problem with the audio.
On the windows sw side I am fully up to date i.e. with Windows 7 HP x64.
On the hardware side I have updated by video and audio drivers to the latest...in fact all the drivers are upto date. The Machine is an Acer Aspire X1470 desktop model with 4 GB of ram. AMD Radeon HD 6410D Graphics (display adapter). AMD A4-3400 APU.
I have tried connecting the audio thru the on-board sound system. I've also tried using an external USB based sound I/F. Which one I use makes no difference...The crackling still comes thru.
Part of the reason I'm led to believe this is not strickly a hw issue is because I've tried playing these same files with XBMC and they play cleanly. So it would seem there is some kind of interaction issue hw and sw when using WMC on this computer. BTW I've tried using WMP (my preferred choice) but the audio and video degradation is markedly worse than WMC. I've included the Media info data for one of the files I've played below:

Sometimes it goes for hours not giving me problems, but then at some point randomly pauses and continues, either at like half second intervals, few seconds, or even like 20 seconds after it pauses, it randomly plays again.
I play them off my hard drive and off my external, it's not my external that's the problem I don't think. I'm thinking maybe my wireless adapter is a problem? I don't know.
If I downloaded HijackThis and gave you guys or the guys there a log, would they be able to identify what's causing this, or would it just show as me clicking pause and play, because it does it by itself...

Recently the hiccups that happen when playing hich bitrate audio (happens in 320 kbps and not in 192) and videos (HD) started to really annoy me so I came here.I have windows 7, intel i7 870 processor, roland UA-4FX USB sound card, radeon hd5800 graphics card, and 4gb ram, I think all of them have up to date drivers.The clicking intensifies when doing rather CPU-heavy things like opening microsoft word but it is always there in high bitrate files, but the CPU load never goes above 20% in task manager.The hiccups are such that audio playback stops for a very short time periodically and making a click sound as if you removed the cable of the speaker.

View 1 Replies View RelatedStarting about a month ago, after six to seven months of my laptop working fine, I've been getting video and audio stuttering whenever gaming or watching most HD videos and after messing around with my drivers I realized that whenever my Realtek HD Audio drivers are disabled my video runs flawlessly, but when enabled both video and audio stutter. I'm using a Sony VAIO laptop so I'm assuming that the sound card isn't easily replaceable. I've tried using the newest drivers straight from Realtek's website and also the outdated driver provided by Sony's website, both of which result in the same stuttering. Sony has also replaced the motherboard once and it did not resolve the issue.I'm currently running Windows 7 with 6gb of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce 330M graphics card.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been using Windows 7 RC x64 6.1.7100 for about a month now, and i've used K-Lite to watch videos without running into any problems.
But for the past 3 days anytime i play a video, windows 7 will lock up sometimes in a few minutes and sometimes it will take longer. Keyboard commmands dont work.
This happens with K-Lite , VLC and WMP.
I have tried uninstalling K-Lite and installing the latest codecs, this didnt work. I have also tried Windows 7 Codecs ( Shark007.net - Windows 7 Codecs )
My video card is an ATI Radeon HD 3850, i had the latest Windows 7 drivers installed, I uninstalled those and installed the drivers for Vista, same problem.
any ideas of what could be wrong or something i have done or have not done?

It has only recently started doing this. It freezes so badly, I have to completely reboot the system. All the drivers are up to date.
