Feb 3, 2012how can I play a video in jet audio (or any other media program) on one monitor while I play a fullscreen game on the other. I can get it to work with streams off of website like own3d.tv and twitch.tv, and I can even run the streams in full screen. However when I try to run a movie through jet audio or even just play music through zune player, they freeze up. The audio will still come through, but either the picture is frozen in place or the zune player seems to get frozen.

Oct 17, 2011I've just downloaded the "Windows Live Movie Maker" for Windows 7.
My MP4 video had no issues. However, Movie Maker won't accept my pre-recorded MP3 audio - what's up with that? It was recorded on XP then put on a USB stick and brought to my Win 7 PC. Would that effect it? How can I fix it?
If not, how can I get my MP3 working? I never thought MP3 would be an issue.
Windows Live Movie Maker - Clips Out Of Sync For Audio / Video
Oct 30, 2010basically i am downloading Internet videos which come as mp4 files, i then convert them with no compression with the program "super" to avi. now when i add the videos to wlmm they play fine and i can edit them perfect, but when i turn the project to a wmv file and play the video, some of the clips seem to be out of sync for audio/video. i have spent hours editing these clips as i didn't think the conversion wlmm makes would effect it as when i play the clips in the wlmm portable player the problem doesn't occur.

However to do this I have to go into windows 7 screen resolution screen and duplicate the displays though ones 1900x1200 and the Tv is 1920x1080 causing the PC screen to look funky but I can live with it to launch the games.I than have to go into the sound properties and set the default for the system to the HDMI cable and I can play my games on the TV like I want. I recently upgraded my comp to a full custom build (z77 sabertooth, i5-3570k, 16GB ram, Windows 7 Professional 64 bit) and can't figure out how to set my audio playback devices to play separately. On my previous comp, which had Windows Vista Home Premium, whenever I changed the default playback whatever audio was playing already would stay on the devices it was playing on and whatever new windows I opened would play on the new default device. I've tried to slow down the speed of the burn but sothink doesnt have that option i've switched the audio from 5.1 surround to stereo and even tried mono it didnt have any effect.

PC has a 2.2 Gig AMD processor (processor is a 64bit but had glitches when I tried the Windows 7 64bit OS) w/2GB DDR2 Mem. All drivers are the originals from when the PC had Win XP Home on it, except for what ever Windows 7 swapped out on install. WMP12 will only play the supplied demo video and that appears as a duo image in a split screen with playback in black and white. Plays ALL audio fine, even CD's. Will Not play any Video DVD's. Installed Power DVD 11 and same problem. Windows 7 say's something about not enough memory installed and close running programs to free up memory. All programs are closed except WMP12. Have increased page file size to 1024low/8192high and every thing seems to work fine except WMP12 & PowerDVD video

Mar 14, 2011I have about 300+GB music files (mp3, ogg, wav, flac,...) and have k-lite codec 6.9.0 installed. Until some time ago my WMP working just fine and have no problem playing all my music files, but somehow now my WMP can't play mp3 files below 320 kbps smoothly (the sound is stuttering). every mp3 files below 320kbps (64, 128, 192, 256, variable bitrate) always stuttering when played, but the 320kbps files, the flac, ogg, wav all played fine.
I don't know what to do except reinstalling the windows, but i don't want to. all that files are played fine on other devices (my phone, tv, etc).
I have tried enabling and disabling the WMP on windows feature (for resetting), reinstalling the codec pack, resetting media library, disabling all wmp plugin, everything that come to mind, but no result so far.

Jul 16, 2009My network consists of three Windows 7 machines right now, two of which are functioning as Media Centers hooked up to TVs. The other is a laptop that is used as a regular PC.
One of the Media Center PCs functions as a server with all of the music and video files stores on multiple drives. The other computers have mapped drives to those shared folders on the server.
On the laptop, Windows Media Player adds all of the music from the server just fine, and it can play on the laptop, but when I try to use "Play to >" my media server (which is hooked up to my sound system) I get the following error:
"Failed to retrieve media information."
"Play to >" works perfectly with locally stored files.
Is this a known limitation? Are there any workarounds? It would be nice not to have to Remote Desktop to the server to play music (I like to play music without the TV on or using a remote ).
WMP Won't Play AVI Files Correctly
Apr 29, 2012WMP used to work perfectly with AVI files. I could watch movies, cartoons, whatever with no problems. Then a couple days ago, it happened. I double clicked on an AVI and WMP started up but horrible screeching sounds came from the speakers and when the video was visible it was playing very slowly.

Nov 30, 2012Suddenly I've noticed that certain .ogg files aren't able to be played in Windows Media Player. It only occurs with some files; others play perfectly fine. For the files that do not work, they open fine but there is no audio or visualisation at all; however, the time bar (or whatever it's called) still shows properly. The files play properly in other media players but I prefer to use WMP.
(I use the codec available here: Directshow Filters for Ogg Vorbis, Speex, Theora and FLAC: Home but although I tried reinstalling it, I still have problems)
