resently, when i was trying to get Itunes to work(never mind about itunes, not the problem) i dud deeper into the problem and i gone through some regedit stuff at the RUN wich i was told to do if Itunes was gonna work and then my audio stopped working, my media files to but i can still play games (without audio). dont really know what to do?

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor some reason, video files [all types] will refuse to play and it will revert to audio only. When I close firefox and run CCleaner though, the video will work again for a short amount of time before reverting back to audio only.
View 2 Replies View Relatedhow can I play a video in jet audio (or any other media program) on one monitor while I play a fullscreen game on the other. I can get it to work with streams off of website like own3d.tv and twitch.tv, and I can even run the streams in full screen. However when I try to run a movie through jet audio or even just play music through zune player, they freeze up. The audio will still come through, but either the picture is frozen in place or the zune player seems to get frozen.

However to do this I have to go into windows 7 screen resolution screen and duplicate the displays though ones 1900x1200 and the Tv is 1920x1080 causing the PC screen to look funky but I can live with it to launch the games.I than have to go into the sound properties and set the default for the system to the HDMI cable and I can play my games on the TV like I want. (about 30 feet away)When done I have to come back and undue each setting to get control back to my PC.

I recently upgraded my comp to a full custom build (z77 sabertooth, i5-3570k, 16GB ram, Windows 7 Professional 64 bit) and can't figure out how to set my audio playback devices to play separately. On my previous comp, which had Windows Vista Home Premium, whenever I changed the default playback whatever audio was playing already would stay on the devices it was playing on and whatever new windows I opened would play on the new default device. I've looked and looked but can't find any options similar to this.
How can I set my comp so that I can play one audio through my tv and separate audio through speakers?
My cousin has a 7.1 system in his projector room that plays the mp3's fine and in the other rooms he has analog ceiling speakers (my bet, 2.0 channels) is there any way to play the audio from the projector windows 7 pc to the ceiling speakers in even 1 of the other rooms at the same time? everything in the house is wired to each other

View 3 Replies View Relatedive been using sothink movie dvd maker on windows 7 the video playback on my stand alone dvd player has perfect playback but any time the audio gets to a climax like for a dramatic moment (an explosion for example) the audio crackles. I've tried to slow down the speed of the burn but sothink doesnt have that option i've switched the audio from 5.1 surround to stereo and even tried mono it didnt have any effect.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate x86 on my Dad's HP Compaq Presario. PC has a 2.2 Gig AMD processor (processor is a 64bit but had glitches when I tried the Windows 7 64bit OS) w/2GB DDR2 Mem. All drivers are the originals from when the PC had Win XP Home on it, except for what ever Windows 7 swapped out on install. WMP12 will only play the supplied demo video and that appears as a duo image in a split screen with playback in black and white. Plays ALL audio fine, even CD's. Will Not play any Video DVD's. Installed Power DVD 11 and same problem. Windows 7 say's something about not enough memory installed and close running programs to free up memory. All programs are closed except WMP12. Have increased page file size to 1024low/8192high and every thing seems to work fine except WMP12 & PowerDVD video

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with the autoplay, USB and card reader are fine however when using either music CD, or DVD or software CD the autoplay doesn't kick in, when I browse the disk and select autoplay manualy it will start, I have set up everything in my autoplay setting in the control panel (including the check mark on the top), still nothing. I have window 7 home premium. I should point out that the drive is Bluray drive, also this autoplay hasn't worked from the very begining, since the laptop is new, it's very frustrating, I can't find any drivers for the device on ASUS site.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have about 300+GB music files (mp3, ogg, wav, flac,...) and have k-lite codec 6.9.0 installed. Until some time ago my WMP working just fine and have no problem playing all my music files, but somehow now my WMP can't play mp3 files below 320 kbps smoothly (the sound is stuttering). every mp3 files below 320kbps (64, 128, 192, 256, variable bitrate) always stuttering when played, but the 320kbps files, the flac, ogg, wav all played fine.
I don't know what to do except reinstalling the windows, but i don't want to. all that files are played fine on other devices (my phone, tv, etc).
I have tried enabling and disabling the WMP on windows feature (for resetting), reinstalling the codec pack, resetting media library, disabling all wmp plugin, everything that come to mind, but no result so far.
is there a way to play iso files without first wasting DVDs burning them?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy network consists of three Windows 7 machines right now, two of which are functioning as Media Centers hooked up to TVs. The other is a laptop that is used as a regular PC.
One of the Media Center PCs functions as a server with all of the music and video files stores on multiple drives. The other computers have mapped drives to those shared folders on the server.
On the laptop, Windows Media Player adds all of the music from the server just fine, and it can play on the laptop, but when I try to use "Play to >" my media server (which is hooked up to my sound system) I get the following error:
"Failed to retrieve media information."
"Play to >" works perfectly with locally stored files.
Is this a known limitation? Are there any workarounds? It would be nice not to have to Remote Desktop to the server to play music (I like to play music without the TV on or using a remote ).
WMP used to work perfectly with AVI files. I could watch movies, cartoons, whatever with no problems. Then a couple days ago, it happened. I double clicked on an AVI and WMP started up but horrible screeching sounds came from the speakers and when the video was visible it was playing very slowly.

View 7 Replies View RelatedSuddenly I've noticed that certain .ogg files aren't able to be played in Windows Media Player. It only occurs with some files; others play perfectly fine. For the files that do not work, they open fine but there is no audio or visualisation at all; however, the time bar (or whatever it's called) still shows properly. The files play properly in other media players but I prefer to use WMP.
(I use the codec available here: Directshow Filters for Ogg Vorbis, Speex, Theora and FLAC: Home but although I tried reinstalling it, I still have problems)
I have got windows 7 with the default WMP12 and i cannot play some WMA files that i ripped with a previous version of WMP. It says that they do not have any license restrictions or anything, just wont play them and can't tell track length etc (i presume cant read the tags).

When I try to open them in windows media player, I see a small thumbnail of the first frame, and only the sound plays. I installed DivX, and it says AVI is unsupported, and I cant find avi codecs for DivX. Since that didnt work, I tried K-Lite codecs, but I still receive errors. gspot says that it uses the FRAPS codec, which is installed.

When I install Windows 7 x64 and plug in my mouse or printer right away they will discover the drivers and work automagically.After I go through the Windows updates they just don't seem to work anymore. The only thing I've been able to do to get them to work is run this little MS program(http://windows.micro...ith-USB-devices) I found that apparently forces what I have plugged into the USB port and isn't responding to install drivers and work. I just don't know what to do so I don't have to run this program any time I try to plug something into the USB ports.What's kind of strange is I have an external drive that I plug in and it works before and after the updates without running that program. Anyone have any idea what might be wrong?
Using a HP Pavilion g7 1075dx Notebook PC just fyi.dit: Actually I just tested unplugging the mouse and printer after they were working, restarting the system, and trying to plug them back in again. They don't work again. So as it stands I would have to run that little MS Fix It program every time I plug them in to get them to work.
