I have windows 7. In control panel, the device and printers option is there, but when I click om it, the screen never loads. Th egreen progress bar at top takes forever to fill in all the way, but even when it gets thru loading, it never actually loads. I cannot view my printers.
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit Control Panel -> Devices and Printers show some printers (PDF995 and Microsoft XPS Document Writer) but it does not show my HP OfficeJet 4500. Applications (like IE or Firebird) show it in the list of printer and can print to it.
Edit: I forgot to mention, I am running in the Administrator account and both the laptop and the printer on the same WiFi router. The printer showed up in Device Manager after I clicked Display Hidden Devices (kind of silly to hide devices from the Administrator.)
i have been trying to figure out how to fix this problem i have a blue tooth dongal and im trying to hook up my wii remote to my computer..the device is recognised and windows tells me its searching for drivers and the device will be ready when shown in device and printers. the device icon pops up so i no it installd but after a few seconds the icon is grayd out and the device just dosent respond ..
I was recently changing a network printer but the PC seemed slow when adding a new printer. I removed the unused devices and restarted the computer. Now when I try to open devices and printers I just get the green bar at the top and nothing shows up.On a side note (I assume it is related) at the same time the printer issue showed up I noticed that I can't get Word to open at all and when I go to page layout in Excel, Excel locks up.I have tried a clean boot and everything behaves the same. I have tried using Fix it for printer problems and the program seems to get stuck when checking for spooler errors.I have also done a search and found the posts about restarting the Blutooth services.
Really weird, when selecting Devices and Printers (Device Stage) in the menu the progress bar would take forever and never display anything - just blank.
Finally discovered it was actually a bluetooth issue in services. I don't even know why I looked there - -
THE FIX at least for me..
Click Start button, type "services" into the search program and files box. This brings up a list in the menu, select Services. This should open a list of local services on your system.., Find 'Bluetooth Service" and make sure it has started, right click and set to 'automatic' (mine was already set), Select "Bluetooth Support Service" and start, set to automatic (mine was set on manual) --
I have installed the following printers: Epson LX-300+II, HP Laserjet 1010, HP Colour Lasterjet 1515, Canon IP5200.
The printers work and are all displayed from Word, IE, etc, but only one printer shows up in Windows 7 Devices & Printers - usually whichever is selected as default printer. If I remove the displayed printer, it shows me another one. When I first installed, it showed me all the printers, but problems started after I had to remove and reinstall my printers.
Yesterday Norton pops up with some DLL file and it was causing a problem. Norton apparently deletes it and today this popped up.There is a problem starting C:UsersAdamAppDataLocalCRE/CrashDumpsdmwjuxb.dll The Specified module could not be found
'There was a problem starting msizqh32.dll..The specified module could not be found'.I have searched the web and the file msizqh32.dll has not come up in Google.I am not sure even what this file is for, whether part of a driver or the operating system or something else.I am hoping to find the file and replace it in its proper place to avoid the message in future, and secure the system, but can not find the file. Even dsl-files.com did not have it.
I am using Windows 7, 64-bit computer. Recently, I observe the following message at start up: 'Users'Name of User'AppDataLocalinfcprtp.dll' specified module not found. The computer appears to be functioning well otherwise. It is just that I have to cancel this message at evey start up.
I have read some data that says that Windows Seven has problems with mixed sizes of memory modules. In my system I have three 2 Gig modules and one 1 Gig module. Can this cause any problems. The memory came preinstalled in my system so I assume it is of same type and manufacturer. Still trying to chase a problem with desktop heap allocation failure at boot up.
I own Dutch home edition windows 7 on my new laptop. There is no speech recognition module that came with the software. Is it possible to use the English version SAPI 5.1 with windows 7? (installing with compatibility mode XP)I use software that only uses English speech recognition, and works best with XP.The SR modules that comes with thr "bigger" versions of Windows 7 gives a lot of troubles with the program, because there are a lot of instructions that works also with the Windows 7 interface. The software i use = London Control (Air traffic control simulation)
When I log into my computer, I get the following error message " There was a problem starting C:UsersOl-Scurt-DoggAppDataLocaluictaner.dll The specific module could not be found. ". I have searched and searched and searched for this error with no success except for registry cleaners/fixers that of course require my credit card to do the full fix.I do understand what the DLL is and what it does but also know how critical it is to be exact when dealing with the registry. Can anyone give me a straight forward resolution for this issue?
My wireless connection is dropping anytime I have something downloading, and I mean anything, be it torrents, game clients, anything! The connection is perfect for hours and hours of internet browsing but if I turn on uTorrent or try to download a game off Steam, without fail the connection will drop (usually within a minute), and my wireless card will fail to see any networks at all. I then have to restart my laptop to regain my connection. All drivers are updated, virus scans have been run multiple times. Event Viewer gives me this error:
WLAN Extensibility Module has stopped. Module Path: C:\Windows\system32\athihvs.dll
Why does starting a download cause my connection to crash?
I have a Toshiba Satelite P755-S5391 64 bit Recently when i put in a dvd it Module needed for this application is are missing...I have reinstalled the video player twice and still says the same thing..
Drum Module (Alesis DM8) connected to the mic/line only input. Mic/Line In set as default recording device, "listen to this device" option in properties inactivated. Drums sound excellent, can be recorded, using audacity for example. Except after some seconds or maybe a minute, sound dissapears, input is somehow lost. I change or reset one of the options (input for example), sound from the module is back on. Then it dissapears again. I am thinking it can't be a cable problem or something with the module. It must be something from within the operating system or the soundcard.
A couple of weeks ago this started happening : "Internet Explorer Unhandled Exception in third party module and should be closed. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Send Report Close . Then IE closes and reopens. As many as 3 - 4 times on the same site?

I've been using my Thinkpad w520 with windows 7 64 bit professional for more than a year without any major problem. Recently, the Explorer.exe started crashing occasionally and randomly when I was switching back to a file browser ... The event viewer shows that all the crashes were related to the Faulting module path: C:WindowsSYSTEM32 tdll.dll. The entire message is shown below
Device driver for this item was not successfully installed. After finding the driver from the source, I ran the installer in compatibility mode because it worked previously in Vista. Once I ran it in compatibility mode and rebooted a lot of the missing drivers were found however Bluetooth Peripheral Device was still not found!I previously had a Bluetooth device connected using windows 7, however I uninstalled the driver and attempted to reinstall because I was unable to add additional devices. I am still unsuccessful and would like to use my Bluetooth device.
Windows 7 version 6.1 build 7100
P.S. - The device shows up in my device manager and working properly, however I cannot add any devices because windows 7 simply doesn't find any....
I'm having problems connecting some devices (android apps) to my computer via my wi-fi. I am usually able to solve the problem by running network diagnostics, but after awhile, I'll start having network connectivity problems again.
Whenever I run diagnostics in these situations, this error is shown in Event Viewer: "WLAN Extensibility Module has stopped. Module Path: C:\Windows\system32\athihvs."
I also receive the error (in event viewer) on a fairly regular basis: "Your computer was not assigned an address from the network (by the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address 0x2225D3CC6415. The following error occurred: 0x79. Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server."
I have checked, and my router and WLAN card drivers are both up to date. I'm wondering if these errors are what is causing my app to lose connection?
I've been having issues with several computers now. All of them Windows 7 Professional 32 bits. The error they're having is the same on each PC: explorer.exe fails and restarts after clicking Ok to the dialog.
I already ran viruschecks and spywarescans. Clean booted. sfc'd. Uninstalled all updates since the week previous to the first error. Created a fresh new profile for the user. Disabled all non-Microsoft shell extensions. Reinstalled Windows. and non on them had made a difference.
The oldest issue is november 6th (there's not a single instance of the error before that date); since then, the issue is happening at least once a day but more like 5-10 times a day. I ran Windbg and for almost all errors it points to "fundisc" module as the culprit, although i don't know what piece of software would be using it. The only updates they had installed are security and critical updates via WSUS.
I am trying to register bthserv.dll in my registry as the bluetooth support service is missing from my services.msc; Dont ask how that happened!when running the command regsvr32 bthserv.dll im getting the error message;"the module bthserv.dll was loaded but the entry-point dllregisterserver was not found"I have also run sfc /scannow, and all is good.Im running Win 7 64bit SP1.
i have a pc (Windows 7 build 7100) that is connected to two printers (of which one prints (HP laserjet CP1215) and one only scans (no ink)) and it shares those printer.
My Windows 7 build 7600 (on my main pc) added the scan-printer without asking me and didn't add the other one (the only one I can print). I then disconnected this one from the other pc and looked again, no install here.
While I used build 7100 with my main pc too, it asked me: "Do you want to install HomeGroup printer?" and it worked like a charm.
Now I tried to manually add this printer and it asked me for a driver.
I installed the HP drivers but still, not working. Then, when it asked me again to point to the .inf file, i selected the one HP-driver-installation installed (to my C:Program files folder) but it said this driver is from a "non-certified" publisher (or something like this, sadly I can't reproduce this so I don't remember the exact words).
I clicked "install nonetheless" because I knew it was the right driver (printer prints perfectly from all other Windows 7 workstations).
Now when I try to connect to the printer (still not showing up in "Devices and printers" it tries to connect, looks for a driver, kinda finds one and then tells me, it can't connect.
I cannot even select a new driver or anything, I can only close the window.
On all my other pcs (I only use Windows 7 since the RC) it works and worked without problems. I miss the "Install Homegroup printer" prompt and well ...
any ideas?
ah well i installed 32bit versions of the driver and now i downloaded 64bit versions, but even after installing it doesn't work and as I've said before, I cannot manually select a driver inf file anymore, so ... I can't install the printer.
