The connection is perfect for hours and hours of internet browsing but if I turn on uTorrent or try to download a game off Steam, without fail the connection will drop (usually within a minute), and my wireless card will fail to see any networks at all. I then have to restart my laptop to regain my connection. All drivers are updated, virus scans have been run multiple times. Event Viewer gives me this error:

Jul 23, 2011Drum Module (Alesis DM8) connected to the mic/line only input. Mic/Line In set as default recording device, "listen to this device" option in properties inactivated. Drums sound excellent, can be recorded, using audacity for example. Except after some seconds or maybe a minute, sound dissapears, input is somehow lost. I change or reset one of the options (input for example), sound from the module is back on. Then it dissapears again. I am thinking it can't be a cable problem or something with the module. It must be something from within the operating system or the soundcard.

Dell Wireless 355 Module With Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR Technology Driver Not Functioning
Jun 14, 2009Device driver for this item was not successfully installed. After finding the driver from the source, I ran the installer in compatibility mode because it worked previously in Vista. Once I ran it in compatibility mode and rebooted a lot of the missing drivers were found however Bluetooth Peripheral Device was still not found!I previously had a Bluetooth device connected using windows 7, however I uninstalled the driver and attempted to reinstall because I was unable to add additional devices. I am still unsuccessful and would like to use my Bluetooth device.
Windows 7 version 6.1 build 7100
P.S. - The device shows up in my device manager and working properly, however I cannot add any devices because windows 7 simply doesn't find any....
WLAN Extensibility Module Has Stopped - Error In Event Viewer
Apr 17, 2011I'm having problems connecting some devices (android apps) to my computer via my wi-fi. I am usually able to solve the problem by running network diagnostics, but after awhile, I'll start having network connectivity problems again.
Whenever I run diagnostics in these situations, this error is shown in Event Viewer:
"WLAN Extensibility Module has stopped.
Module Path: C:\Windows\system32\athihvs."
I also receive the error (in event viewer) on a fairly regular basis:
"Your computer was not assigned an address from the network (by the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address 0x2225D3CC6415. The following error occurred: 0x79. Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server."
I have checked, and my router and WLAN card drivers are both up to date. I'm wondering if these errors are what is causing my app to lose connection?

Nov 29, 2012I've been having issues with several computers now. All of them Windows 7 Professional 32 bits. The error they're having is the same on each PC: explorer.exe fails and restarts after clicking Ok to the dialog.

I already ran viruschecks and spywarescans. Clean booted. sfc'd. Uninstalled all updates since the week previous to the first error. Created a fresh new profile for the user. Disabled all non-Microsoft shell extensions. Reinstalled Windows. and non on them had made a difference.
The oldest issue is november 6th (there's not a single instance of the error before that date); since then, the issue is happening at least once a day but more like 5-10 times a day. I ran Windbg and for almost all errors it points to "fundisc" module as the culprit, although i don't know what piece of software would be using it. The only updates they had installed are security and critical updates via WSUS.

Oct 28, 2011I just got a computer for free, a Dell Studio 1555. When I got it, it would try to boot, then come to a screen that said that bootmgr.exe was missing. Sometimes I got a message that said something like mpio.sys was corrupted or missing. I have a Win 7 disk, so I put it in and tried to repair the installation. Each time I ran it, it said that the repair had failed. I tried to reinstall windows 7, and It made it to the first restart in the process. It showed the "Starting Windows" screen, but the colors of the windows logo never appeared, then I got the missing bootmgr screen. I decided to install Ubuntu and see if that worked, and it did (I installed it alongside the Windows installation). It was Ubuntu 10.04. I thought, "OK, so i'll just use this as a Linux machine"...and I decided to go back and reinstall so that I could use the entire hard drive. It never worked correctly again. Each subsequent time that I installed Ubuntu, I was told something along the lines of "Gnome Power Manager did not install correctly" and got a slow and choppy Ubuntu installation.Tried to install 11.10, and it failed completely. I opened the Ubuntu live from my usb drive, and opened the disk utility. I now cannot format, reformat, partition, or delete partitions on the drive. Is all of this just a case of a hard drive on its last legs, or is there something else going on here?

I've done a full system scam on both anti-virus programs, i see no viruses. Jan 10, 2012My setup had an MBR issue a few days ago after installing Skyrim. I was unable to repair it using the windows 7 instal disc. I tried the automatic fix as well as bootrec.exe. After giving up and reinstalling a fresh windows 7, my rig has not been starting up properly. It insists on waking up from sleepwhen it was shutdown, i.e. Not sleeping. Well after a few days of this with no other problems, bootmgr can't be found again. Now, when I load the repair disc, it can't find my OS to even try a bootrec.exe on. But, when i go to load drivers the explorer window allows me to browse my c:/ drive and the installation is there. I would prefer to fix rather than reinstall due to a symantec DRM issue.
Windows 7 is on a 60 gb raid 0 setup (I know, i know, i deserve this for running raid 0)

Aug 24, 2011I've had this laptop handed to me after my friend's son tried to restore using the supplied restore disk, but it failed.Not having the win 7 disk, only the restore, I ran ntfs for dos and there are no files on the hard drive anymore. It shows 3 partitions, one of about 400 and 2 of 40000MBs.I tried to install winxp but it begins to load the files gets to the windows loader (splash) screen then I get the BSOD and the system gives the message that there is a error and windows is stopped from loading.I thought I would reformat the drive, then repartition, then load win xp, but I can't get beyond the windows splash screen.I tried bart pe but that wouldn't load, I also tried ultimate boot cd
