New Installation Of Windows 7 64bit

Apr 11, 2011

I am intending to add an SSD to my system, and also upgrade the RAM. I intend to therefore re-install with 64-bit to take full advantage.I was thinking the best way to do this would be to use the file and settings transfer wizard to backup the existing accounts and data, re-installing with 64-bit, and then using the wizard to set up the accounts again.I also want to have the system set up to store user data on the standard HDD and have the OS installed on the SSD. What I am unsure of, is whether the file and settings transfer wizard will play nicely if I manually relocate the user profiles.

Windows 7 64bit Installation With 8GB RAM

Jan 10, 2013

I have a problem to install Windows 7 64bit in my PC. Could it be the problem that I have 8 GR RAM (2 x 4 GB RAM 64)? I found that Windows 7 system requirements are: 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit). Is there any way still to install Windows 7 with this RAM? Os must I change to 1 or 2 GB RAM?

RAM: Crucial Ballistix 8GB DDR3 PC3-10600 CL9 KIT OF 2 BLS2CP4G3D1339DS1S00CEU
Mother board: MSI 760G-P43 FX
Hard drive: Seagate BARRACUDA GREEN 1TB 5900RPM 32MB ST1000DL002

Can't Get Windows 7 64bit To Begin Installation

Apr 24, 2011

My build is:

CPU-intel 2600k i7 3.4 ghz
PSU-Rosewill 1000W
GPU- Asus ENGTx580
MB- Asus sabertooth p67
RAM- Ballistix DDR3 PC3-16000 (which they list as compatible) have 4 sticks of 4gig but only one in right now
HD- Crucial 128Gig SSD
also have a WD 1.5 Tb
Case- coolermaster Haf X
DVD- LG bluray

I got everything on friday and have been trying to get it to work. I put everything together as instructed and have checked multiple times. The system will turn on and every device has power and all the fans turn and lights light up. However i can't get windows 7 64bit to install. First off it takes a good 5-15 minutes to either enter bios setup or get it to let me boot off a dvd(already changed boot order) and after this point with the windows 64 bit disc in the drive it comes up with a "windows is loading files" bar which fills, goes away, returns, fills again, then goes away. at this point all that appears is a small scattering of dots about an inch off the bottom of the screen. I have had the 32 bit go past this point but have not installed it.

I used the 64 bit disc on my laptop with the ssd and was able to install it but the new build would get the same scattering of dots when i try to boot from this so i am formating the ssd again and will attempt to go through the entire 32 bit installation.

Edit- I have also flashed to the latest bios that asus has for the board and the 5-15 minute boot consists of a black screen for a minute or so followed by the asus screen teelling me to push delete to enter bios setup, then whether i do or not it shows the same set of black and asus screens two more times before doing anything (once again very slowly)

Windows 7 64bit Installation Freezes During Expanding Files

Sep 18, 2010

I am trying to install Windows 7 64 bit on my system and it freezes during expanding files. I searched all forums and information thats available online, tried everything that was listed but no solution yet.

My system is Foxconn P9657AB-8EKRS2H LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard, Intel Quad Core Processor, 6 GB RAM on 3 slots, I had a 250 GB before this process but i bought a 1 TB 7200 RPM HD thinking that it would solve the problem somehow.

I took out all USB items including mouse & keyboard and using PS2 mouse/kb now. Also took out 2 RAMs leaving only one 2 GB. Now the machine only has the mother board, processor, video card, 2 gb ram, ps2 mouse & keyboard, and the monitors.

I checked BIOS, and i have the latest update. Tried everything on BIOS from setting it to Safe Mode, Disabling all USB ports, Internal Audio Device, and pretty much everything that i found online. Im just yet to flush the BIOS, change DVD drive and install it from a flash drive.

Error Code 0x8007050 During Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit Installation

Jan 27, 2011

I have been encountering this same error code in one of my machines. I get the Error Code: 0x8007050 during installation of Win 7 Ultimate 64 Bit. It occurs during the expansion of files phase, during instalation, with the message "Windows cannot install the required files. Make sure the required files are available..."

Machine Specs:
Intel DP43TF MB
Intel Quad Core 8300 CPU
4GB OCZ ATI DDR2 RAM
Antec 500 Watt PSU
Hitachi HDS725050 KLA360 HD
and later a Seagate ST3640323AS HD.

In previous installations of Win 7, I've observed that about 29MB are copied to the System Reserved partition. In this scenario, only 11MB are copied. I've performed the following trouble shooting in order:

- Changed out the DVD drive. Tried installation again without success.
- Performed factory system restore on the hard drive. Tried installation again without success.
- Replaced the hard drive with a new one. Tried installation again without success.
- Removed all PCI cards, and tried again with just the PCI-E video card. Tried installation again without success.
- Replaced the PCI-E video card with a PCI card. Tried installation again without success.
- Cloned the "System Reserved" partition from another PC with a functioning install of the same OS. Tried installation again without success.

It should be noted that this specific machine was previously running Win 7 Ultimate 64 Bit. I was simply attempting to upgrade the hard drive. I've also tried to install Win 7 Home and Win 7 Pro, all with the exact same error code, which occurs during the same phase of installation. I also tried to perform an Upgrade install. The machine accepted a complete install of Win Vista Ultimate 64 bit (twice), but had the same error codes appear during the Upgrade install to Win 7 Ultimate 64 Bit. I reformatted and reinstalled same Vista 64 bit OS. I tried to install Win 7 Pro 64 Bit, and again encountered the same error codes. Incidentally, I have used 3 different Retail Win 7 install media. The machine passes all MemTest and CPU diagnostics.

Office 2007 Installation Hangs At 70 Percent On Windows 7 64bit

I just bought a Toshiba laptop that has Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit installed on it. I have tried several times to install Office 2007 but for whatever reason it gets probably about 70 percent done and then it just hangs. At first I thought it was because the CPU sitting at 80-90 percent even before installing. I found some .NET services that were using up alot of that CPU so I disabled them and tried installing again but I still hung. I am getting no error messages so right now I am at a loss.

Nothing UEFI is enabled There are no other drives hooked up to the computer. Just SSD, USB cordless mouse, keyboard and no network cord or WIFI i started with a clean ssd as reccomended my bios recognized the ssd on post i booted into the win 7 install (MBR not uefi) i loaded the 64 bit rste drivers from asus as reccomended by others i left the machine to install the usb then booted into windows install (for whatever reason) i pushed f8 to boot my corsair windows brings up an error on a black screen File: windows/system32/drivers/adpahci.sys driver did not load Status: oxc0000221 Info: Windows Failed to load because of a critical system driver is missing or corrupt

But when I press on it and next it has an error pop up saying "This version of system recovery options is not conpattble with the version of windows you are trying to repair. Try using a recovery disc that i compatible with this version of Windows." If I dont select anything but press next it allows me to look at the screen Im supposed to, but if I go to command prompt or click autmatically repair nothing will be saved or changed. This is the same disc I installed Windows with and repaired it several times. But I did have to reset BIOS earlier so this may have affected something.

Installation Error: Setup Cannot Continue Due To A Corrupted Installation File

Sep 13, 2009

I am installing Windows 7 (Custom installation initiated from Windows XP) but I get the following error message when the installation is on the "Installing updates" step of the installation:

"Setup cannot continue due to a corrupted installation file. Contact the vendor of your Windows installation disc or your system administrator for assistance."

Do you have any idea what the problem may be with the installation? Is there a way to see what file that may be corrupted?

I have tried to burn the DVD in low speed, but the error appears anyway. I have a MSI K8T Neo2-Fir mainboard and the Windows 7 upgrade advisor application says that my hardware is okay for upgrading.

"Windows Could Not Complete The Installation, To Install Windows On This Computer, Restart The Installation"

Apr 16, 2012

First, my laptop is a Aspire 5250-BZ853. I received it back in October, I think...may've been earlier. But anyhow, it was working just fine yesterday until I did a Windows Update. I had to restart, and it was fine again. But then it began running sluggishly slow, and just terrible overall so I restarted it once more and that was when the problems began.

This entire day, this has been driving me nuts. I have important files on here, and I backed up most on my external harddrive a bit ago but there were a few I missed and hadn't the chance to get (ironically enough the most important, papers and such.) At first, it said my password was wrong -- as if someone had changed it! I restarted it once more, thinking it an error or something, and did that again so I restarted it again. Finally, it worked but I think it logged me in as safe mode somehow. After that, it restarted on its own and began this loop. I did a LOT of searching on Google until finally someone suggested to someone else to try pressing "ALT + F10" I think it was as it was starting, and finally I made progress. Before that, it was just going into a constant rebooting loop and I couldn't even log into safe mode. Trying to reset it back to a time it was working was futile, because it said there was no recovery time there! So that shot that idea down. At last, I got somewhere.as well. I clicked the reset to factory settings, but still keep all the files (and they would be saved to "C:Backup" and I thought it had finally worked. But now as it reinstalls, I got an error saying something about how it needed to restart or something...so when I clicked "okay" it began again, and finally it all just came to a stop on "Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, restart the installation."

I have the tool for creating a bootable USB but do I down't understand how you can do that with 2 ISO files, surely part 1 (2.3gb) is the file to choose when creating this.
