I recently have a problem with my network connection. It shows me sometimes that i have mutliple netowrks, one of them says Unknown network.. When those 2 are togheter in my network and sharing center, my internet connection is lost. If i disable and enable my network connection the internet is working and that unknown connection is gone. Anyone can help me with this one? It is kind of annoying to do that thing everyday.

I would like to be able to use 2 networks at the same time, one is a wireless internet connection through my USB adapter, and the other is a wired Ethernet connection to separate router, which i use to connect to a Playstation 3 with Playstation Media Server. Frequently I am wanting to download a video from the internet while watching a different one on the PS3. he problem is when I connect both networks, I am unable to use the internet.nd what I have learned.
1. I made sure that the two networks have very different IP addresses and Default Gateways.
2. I have tried to change the priorities of the networks through Control Panel>Network and Internet>Network and Sharing Center>Change Adapter Settings. Then right clicking the connections, clicking Properties, clicking both Internet Protocol Properties (one at a time), clicking Advanced, un-checking Automatic metric, and placing my own values. Obviously i set the wireless to the lowest priority and the wired higher.
3. Also in the Network Connections list, pressing Alt, clicking Advanced, then clicking Advanced Settings; I set the order of the connections, wireless first, then wired.
(Also I did reboot the system after trying each thing)Going to command prompt and typing "netstat -rp", under Interface List I am shown the metric priorities of network devices.It seems no matter how I try changing priorities or access orders or anything, those values do not change. I am thinking if the priority of the wireless adapter was first, I would be able to use the internet while connected to both networks, and still be able to stream to the PS3 through the wired connection.
Lost my WAN. I am troublshooting router/ modem issues so I am direct connected to my modem bypassing my router. but to maintain my LAN for sharing I am using a wireless dongle as I only have one ethernet port. as soon as my wireless is connected Windows 7 drops internet from the ethernet. even if I have net then merge the connections. I just had a fresh install a few weeks ago, nothings been tweaked cuz for the most part it works.

i'm running Windows 7 on my laptop and i am using mobile 3G modem as an adapter to connect to Internet. The problem is when i am connect the NIC to my DLINK router, the Internet connectivity become lose where Network and Sharing center stated that there is Multiple Networks with no Internet access. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit on a computer I built with an i7 920 CPU on an Asus P6T motherboard and 6GB of DDR3 ram. Every time I try to connect via Cat 5 wired DSL connection it adds an additional "Unidentified network (public network) and lists "Multiple networks under the middle icon on the Network and Sharing Center with a red X between that and the Internet. I have tried everything to get rid of the extra network but nothing has worked. It initially worked fine, but after getting a "critical update" it began to do this intermittently, now it does it all the time.

Note that the system was not initially set up to capture the dmp files so all the earliest ones are missing. I presented the initial problems to the original seller who recommended sticking with MSE and uninstalling Norton 360 and I did that. Another forum suggested that Virtual Memory was the problem and I disabled and restored VM. Still having multiple crashes and I am hoping that I can get real help here. I do note that all the crashes have ntoskrnl.exe in the driver stack although sometimes alone and sometimes with other drivers.[CODE]

I only started here a few months ago and I am working on upgrading their Dell xp systems to Windows 7 systems.The problem begins to crop up when say a user named Sally will come in and sit down at this system for the first time.. Well, she needs to login, click on outlook icon, let it find her exchange PST and copy settings to her user profile, then she launches the application for the scanner that she uses to scan in ID's and insurance cards for every patient coming in.. The scanner is set to default settings and needs to be tweaked on color depth and double sided, etc.. Then after that, she needs to launch her Medical EMR application.. and then choose various options in the citrix client, ..TL;DR - Each user needs to spend 20 minutes resetting the defaults at this updated system.
Well this is fine except, I am planning on updating 2 front desk systems at each clinic, the user Sally will need to do all these things EACH time she finds herself sitting down at a system I just swapped out the previous evening.My thought is this, put a single system down in one clinic and let it sit a week giving most of the float users a chance to work on it for a day, setting all of their preferences etc.Once I get a bunch of them with user profiles on the local drive, grab an image of that drive and just deploy that to each system I roll out..Couple issues I am running into:First would be that I would have to register each Windows 7 copy with a new serial, which I have The next issue is, we have a mis-mash of Dell optiplex systems. 330's - 380's even a couple 320's..
I have been getting a fairly random blue screens and I cannot pin point it myself. I know a bit about diagnosing and repairing issues but this one is just a pain in my butt. I am uploading the dump files and I hope someone can give me a hand I am running a sfc scan right now to test for any problems too. Also got this off the TSG SysInfo Program.

I have attached a second monitor to my laptop which runs Windows 7, however, I need to set different resolutions for different monitors, because the display does not fit to fill the screen on both monitors.
It is also noted that the display is replicated, and I would like to have the effect of having different desktops e.g. being able to use different applications such as debugging code on one monitor on an IDE such as Visual Studio, and, viewing the browser on the other monitor.
Currently it does not seem possible since the behavior seems to be that the same resolution is replicated on both monitors.
I use WhoCrashed to analyze these errors but I dont know how to solve. Maybe my hardware cause these.

I'm having a bit of trouble trying to get two monitors, a small 1024x768 LCD, and a 46" 1920x1080 TV, to display the same wallpaper at different resolutions. My graphics card is older, a Nvidia Quadro FX 1700, but it is perfectly capable of driving both displays at the same time. It's a minor annoyance, but I'd like to get it working if it's possible.

Why windows connect in "unknown" network automatic? How to fix it?
I've had my Dell M6500 with Windows 7 for 1.5 years now. My network adapter drivers are all up to date. I've never had any issue connecting to all kinds of wireless---airports, coffee shops, home, etc. The past weekend I was out of town and connected to the wifi at a McDonald's, no problems. When I arrived back home, my wireless connections list contained nothing but a Verizon mobile broadband connection. I have never used mobile broadband. Attached is a video of what I see.
Other various related details:
-When I troubleshoot, I am told to activate my mobile broadband connection.
-I have tried doing a system restore to a point well before my visit to McDonald's. No luck.
-I am not able to return to that McDonald's and try to reconnect to their wifi to see if still works.
-I have not tried connecting to another wifi network besides the one in my house since the McDonald's visit.
-I am still able to connect to the internet using an ethernet cable between my computer and cable modem.
-I am still able to connect to the wireless router using mobile devices and other laptops.
I believe this is a driver problem but couldn't find a solution to this problem.
First of all I had some problems installing windows 7 because it didn't recognize my harddrive being a drive to put win 7 on. but i fixed that by installing xp and then intalling win 7 over the top. and then again reformatting and putting windows 7 on after it started recognizing my harddrive.
BUT NOW THE PROBLEM ABOUT THE TWO NETWORKS
whenever I boot now win 7 always comes up with the problem that it is connected to two different networks. in the network and shared menu it says its connected to the HOME network and to a PUBLIC network both at the same time. I only have one cat5e cable connected to the wireless linksys router. my computer has no other network connections. not wireless nor modem dial up.
it only has the one. so to fix this everytime i have to go into device manager and disable then reinable the driver for the network connection. and then all the sudden it works until i shut off the computer and then when it reboots the problem comes up again. I believe its a driver problem. but don't know how to fix it.
the driver that is enabled on my intel board dq965gf is intel 82566DM Gigabit Network Connection.
Windows 7 found it for me automatically. also i'm just running my cat5e out of the motherboard integrated network connection. NO PCI cards inserted.
I'm having a problem with my networks... i have 2 networks that i connect to, one that is wireless, and is connected to my INTERNET connection, and another that is connected to an Xbox and a file server through a router.
My problem is that whenever i connect to them both, i cannot connect to the Internet anymore, but as soon as i disconnect the router, i am able to access the internet again. My network center shows it as
*My-PC* -------- Multiple Networks-----x-----internet {when im connected to both}
and
*My-PC*---------*Wireless Network*---------Internet {when im connected to the wireless only}
I have gone through most of the posts on this forum that talk about Networks and Connectivity, Homegroups connections, and nothing addresses this problem.
I have had Homegroup established on both my desktop and on my notebook both running Windows 7 ultimate build 7100 for months. Surprisingly; few days ago, my notebook ceased to see the Homegroup and my Network and Sharing Center says that the notebook is currently not connected to any network even though the notebook is connected to the network and can use the Internet.
Homegroup and public group and unidentified group all disappeared on my notebook but working well on my desktop. I have done all the suggestions on other posts (i.e. leave Homegroup reboot, establish new one, passwords) you name it, I tried them all. The groups do not show as you can see in the attached picture. I tried IPv6, I tried the Homegroup listener in the Services. I tried about everything.
Both desktop and notebook connect to my ADSL router wifi.
Has anyone been through this problem? Greatly appreciate your input.
- Edit: I found out that the PNRP service is disabled, normal, but it will not start, when I start it I receive "Access Denied" error. Any suggestions?
- Problem Fixed: I reinstalled Windows 7.
Is there a way to remove all networks from Windows 7 and start fresh? I know how to remove networks, but I can't see a way to remove only 1 network if there is only 1 left.
I'm not sure if the above will solve the issue I am having but I want to remove all my networks and "start fresh" so to speak.
I own Windows 7 x 64.
Over the 9 months, I have used 4 routers and now I am finally set on using number 4. Of course, everytime I tried a new one, Win 7 created a new Network for each one. Is there any way I can get rid of Networks 1, 2 and 4? I would like to only keep Network 3 and then rename it to something else if possible.

my connection to my work's wireless network was fine.
Last night, I installed driver software for my network card for my Ubuntu OS (dual-boot machine). Ubuntu and W7 are on separate partitions; I am not running Ubuntu inside of Windows. This morning when I came into work and booted into windows, it did not connect to the network. I have already updated the driver software through device manager (I already had the most current driver installed) and have downloaded the correct drivers from Dell's website.
I have also done a system restore to prior to last night's Ubuntu driver update. And that didn't work. At this point, I am connected via cable, but if I remove it, my wireless card will not see our wireless network. I have tried to manually create our network through the "Set up a new connection or network" with the correct SSID and security code, but that did not work either.
How could my work on the Ubuntu side have affected the performance of my network card or settings on my Windows 7 side? I can connect to a wireless network in Windows?
I am running an hp g4 notebook with windows 7 64 bit. I can connect to my home network just fine, but I am unable to connect to any public network. The networks show that the connections are available, but when I try to connect I either get a cannot connect error or connected but with no internet error. I have updated the driver for my wireless adapter (Broadcom 4313GN 802.11b/g/n 1x1 wi-fi) and tried resetting the winsock, dv4 and dv6 in ipconfig. No luck with either. The networks show as open.

Device manager shows them working correctly, but......there are no networks visible to connect.At the same time my laptop (win7 64bit business premium or something) sees and can connect to networks. Have tried both of those adapters in XP in same computer, and there they work correctly, and show plenty of networks. 2 of mine, and many more from neighbours. Phone also can connect...so networks really exist. When I open up the list of networks in range and click on one of the other peoples networks the box saying "Connect automatically" is checked. But when I try to uncheck it it keeps coming up as checked again. I have also opened up network and sharing centre and opened up the list and made sure only my network is on the list.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a TP-LINK TL-WN350GD wireless network card, inserted it into a PCI-E slot and installed the drivers, but can't seem to get it to work. It appears in Device Manager as 'Atheros AR5007G Wireless Network Adapter' and apparently 'this device is working properly', but infuriatingly it won't detect any wireless networks. I've tried using the drivers that Windows 7 installed automatically and also the drivers that came on the disk with it, but all to no avail. When I troubleshoot the card, I get the message that 'there might be a problem with the driver for the Wireless Network Connection 2 adapter', but this is all I can find. It's especially irritating as I picked the (admittedly lower-end) card because it's definitely compatible with Windows 7 (I already tried one which wasn't).My PC has Windows 7 64-bit, has an AMD Athlon 4600 dual core CPU and 2 gigs of RAM.

The network adapter is installed correct in the device manager.If i use no encryption or WEP there is no problem, but i must use WPA-PSK.The network settings on my notebook and on the access point are 100% correct, and it worked fine with Windows Vista and the same hardware.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI upgraded a Dell Optiplex machine that was running Vista to Win 7 (both 32 bit).That went swimmingly. However, when I now check my wireless networks, only one available network appears.there are 8-10 networks that show on two other machines in the same room as this machine. One is a laptop that I place right next to the Vista to 7 machine that is causing me the problem.It is possible that during the upgrade the Vista machine was connected via the one network that still shows. I don't know that for certain, or if it is even pertinent. However, that network is not properly secured. One of the other (i.e., missing) networks is the one this machine needs to connect to for security reasons. (We're in an office suite and the network that shows up is a master; one about which we have no say regarding its security.) That's why I have to make the other networks reappear.
I've looked at a bunch of other posts but don't see anything that seems to help with this issue. I don't know where to even start (other than I have rebooted; twice). I am suspicious of the Windows firewall but all other programs seem to work - except printing (I guess because that printer is wirelessly connected on that missing network).Anyone got an idea of where I should start or what I need to do to get this back to normal?
I have Windows 7 and I'm trying to connect to a wireless n router. When I look at it under available networks it says "Security Type: WEP" but my router is set for WPA. I can access it as WPA on my late 2008 macbook pro, but no matter what I do (disabling the wireless n adapter, restarting the computer, etc.) I can't get it to recognize my network as WPA and thus any password I enter is marked as incorrect.
