My Computer: HP G60-235DX. Windows 7 64-Bit. Basically, I have no Plug and Play Software Device Enumerator under system devices in the device manager. This is causing problems with other things as well (I am pretty certain the below problems are caused by the missing enumerator. How can I reinstall it? I've tried to reinstall the chipset from HP but to no avail.
i am trying to reinstall the Plug and Paly Software Device Enumerator, I unistalled it because I had the Yeloow triangle. Accordingly, I tried to follow the common steps ( machine.inf file...add hardware device system device.. download Plug and Play ) but it did not work, saying cannot find file. I tried it several time but with no success.
Is there any solution for Windows 7 to have back the Plug and Play Enumerator.
Recently took out my laptop HDD and formatted it, NTFS format, and stored stuff on it. Now when I place that in an enclosure and want to use it as an external HDD drive, it doesn't pick up the device. Through Diskpart I am able to give the drive a letter and access it, but when I "Safely" remove device, the Drive letters remain....
- Do I need to do anything special to make the Device a Plug and Play? - How do I remove the Drive Letters that I assigned through Diskpart from "My Computer"?
ive done something rlly daft lol, in an attempt to fix windows firewall i have uninstalled the Windows Firewall Authorization driver as it said it had a problem with it prior to thinking how can i reinstall it
I have a few peripherals that have not been working via plug and play and I was wondering if there is a setting I need to change.I have done some search over the internet but have yet to find a solution thus deciding to post here.
My Inspiron does not recognize usb hd drives when I plug them into a port. This is Dell is using a Windows7 update that was installed over the original Vista software. My backup is stored on a Maxtor USB drive and I need to access it to retrieve some files.
I have a problem with my laptop. After I put it in stand-by, when I turn it on again I have the CPU at 50% for 3-4 minutes until it finally goes to 0 again. From task manager, I can see that this is due to a svchost.exe, relative to several services, like Plug & Play and DCOM launch..
I think it's because of the Plug & Play service.. I've already unchecked any sound enhancements from control panel, updated any driver and there are no viruses or malwares..
I have actually had this problem every time I've re-installed the OS and can't seem to figure out how to fix it. When I install Windows 7 x64 and plug in my mouse or printer right away they will discover the drivers and work automagically. After I go through the Windows updates they just don't seem to work anymore. The only thing I've been able to do to get them to work is run this little MS program(http://windows.micro...ith-USB-devices) I found that apparently forces what I have plugged into the USB port and isn't responding to install drivers and work. I just don't know what to do so I don't have to run this program any time I try to plug something into the USB ports. What's kind of strange is I have an external drive that I plug in and it works before and after the updates without running that program. Anyone have any idea what might be wrong?
Using a HP Pavilion g7 1075dx Notebook PC just fyi.dit: Actually I just tested unplugging the mouse and printer after they were working, restarting the system, and trying to plug them back in again. They don't work again. So as it stands I would have to run that little MS Fix It program every time I plug them in to get them to work.
i got a problem with my PlugPlay service in Windows 7 Ultimate x86, when there has passed about 12hours more or less somethings it goes crazy like this:[URL]
I get home from work and my mouse and keyboard stopped working. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling USB controllers but no luck. They are both plug-in-play. Really not enjoying Win7, might go back to XP.
I have 4 outdoor video cameras, which i want to view/record ALL on ONE screen-cant figure out what peice i need to split the screen 4 ways,or how to about hooking up...& how do i view them on different locations in my home after i get this done?
I am currently running a tablet netbook with Windows 7 pro x32. It's not powerful enough to run photoshop very well, and my license wouldn't let me put it on there anyway. However, this netbook is a tablet. I'd like to use it for graphics, as it has a Wacom digitizer.
What I'm interested in doing is running a VNC to access my desktop (running Windows 7 pro x64) and be able to control photoshop from my tablet.
Currently, I've tried Windows Remote Desktop, and while it works fairly well, two things are wrong:
1) Mouse/Tablet input seems to be compressed. This turns my curves into straight lines unless I go reeeeally slowly. Is there any way to change this?
2) There seems to be an option for plug-and-play drivers to be transferred, is there *any* way to make pressure sensitivity work?
I have looked into other solutions, such as TightVNC, UltraVNC, and LogMeIn Free, but VNC isn't very secure (and I don't want to deal with SSH tunneling) and LogMeIn Pro is expensive, while LogMeIn Free is limited.
On that note, I haven't been able to find out *anything* relating to the security of Windows Remote Desktop. Is it encrypted, or what? Security is important to me, as I am running both the desktop and the netbook on networks that I have no control over, and are inherently insecure.
Are mice and keyboards plug-and-play for laptops (automatically detected and ready to use)? Or will it require driver installation of any sort? I have a Dell laptop and will be buying a Dell keyboard and mice...

where I have to restart my PC every time I plug in something to a USB port, even if I've had the device in use for years. The devices don't get recognised or found by my PC unless I restart. How do I stop this from happening!
I recently purchased a lexmark printer and installed the driver and software. After installation I tried to import some pictures off of my sd card using the card reader on my laptop. previous to the lexmark software install I had several options for importing the picture, I usually chose "import using windows". Now that option is gone along with all other options (that I rarely used) and it has been replaced with the lexmark productivity center. I looked at my autoplay options and all the old options are still there for importing videos, but pictures have only productivity studio and general options. So I uninstalled the software and rebooted, the productivity option is gone, but the old ones have not returned.Lastly I tried to do a system restore, but it hangs up on initializing for hours and never completes.Any ideas on how to get my old autoplay options back? I assume it is a registry setting.
I have a first generation envy 14 running windows 7 HP. Ports (COM and lpt) were showing up and working fine up until I reformatted the computer. I then noticed that they were gone. I installed all the drivers for my machine, most notably the chipset drivers, from the HP website. I enabled "show hidden devices" in device manager. I reformatted again, including trying windows 8 beta, and then back to 7.
I went through the bios to look for an option to turn ports on or off, and couldn't find it. So I updated to the latest bios and checked again, including finding a way into the advanced menu. I'm at a loss now... its like the ports don't exist?
So I have this problem that it would appear heaps of others have:
I have a Kogan Agora pro: Kogan Agora Netbook PRO - Kogan Technologies Pty Ltd
It does have a sata hdd. I looked through the BIOS but couldn't find any places to change the sata settings to AHCI or raid.
I am trying to install from a usb key (using an ISO I created from an install dvd) but had the same problem with a downloaded iso. Also tried to install using the default language settings (As identified by David76 in another thread) but no luck.
I think it relates to the SATA HDD. I put the drivers for the netbook onto a seperate usb drive which it finds and lists in the box but none of the drivers do anything (hit next it thinks about things for a while then says no new drivers found).
I am really starting to get a bit ticked and regretting my move away from linux. If it wasn't for a few particular programs I use that don't work on linux i would have given up ages ago.
