View 1 RepliesI am currently running a tablet netbook with Windows 7 pro x32. It's not powerful enough to run photoshop very well, and my license wouldn't let me put it on there anyway. However, this netbook is a tablet. I'd like to use it for graphics, as it has a Wacom digitizer.
What I'm interested in doing is running a VNC to access my desktop (running Windows 7 pro x64) and be able to control photoshop from my tablet.
Currently, I've tried Windows Remote Desktop, and while it works fairly well, two things are wrong:
1) Mouse/Tablet input seems to be compressed. This turns my curves into straight lines unless I go reeeeally slowly. Is there any way to change this?
2) There seems to be an option for plug-and-play drivers to be transferred, is there *any* way to make pressure sensitivity work?
I have looked into other solutions, such as TightVNC, UltraVNC, and LogMeIn Free, but VNC isn't very secure (and I don't want to deal with SSH tunneling) and LogMeIn Pro is expensive, while LogMeIn Free is limited.
On that note, I haven't been able to find out *anything* relating to the security of Windows Remote Desktop. Is it encrypted, or what? Security is important to me, as I am running both the desktop and the netbook on networks that I have no control over, and are inherently insecure.
I have actually had this problem every time I've re-installed the OS and can't seem to figure out how to fix it. When I install Windows 7 x64 and plug in my mouse or printer right away they will discover the drivers and work automagically. After I go through the Windows updates they just don't seem to work anymore. The only thing I've been able to do to get them to work is run this little MS program(http://windows.micro...ith-USB-devices) I found that apparently forces what I have plugged into the USB port and isn't responding to install drivers and work. I just don't know what to do so I don't have to run this program any time I try to plug something into the USB ports. What's kind of strange is I have an external drive that I plug in and it works before and after the updates without running that program. Anyone have any idea what might be wrong?
Using a HP Pavilion g7 1075dx Notebook PC just fyi.dit: Actually I just tested unplugging the mouse and printer after they were working, restarting the system, and trying to plug them back in again. They don't work again. So as it stands I would have to run that little MS Fix It program every time I plug them in to get them to work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with my laptop. After I put it in stand-by, when I turn it on again I have the CPU at 50% for 3-4 minutes until it finally goes to 0 again. From task manager, I can see that this is due to a svchost.exe, relative to several services, like Plug & Play and DCOM launch..
I think it's because of the Plug & Play service.. I've already unchecked any sound enhancements from control panel, updated any driver and there are no viruses or malwares..

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently took out my laptop HDD and formatted it, NTFS format, and stored stuff on it. Now when I place that in an enclosure and want to use it as an external HDD drive, it doesn't pick up the device. Through Diskpart I am able to give the drive a letter and access it, but when I "Safely" remove device, the Drive letters remain....
- Do I need to do anything special to make the Device a Plug and Play?
- How do I remove the Drive Letters that I assigned through Diskpart from "My Computer"?
My Computer: HP G60-235DX. Windows 7 64-Bit. Basically, I have no Plug and Play Software Device Enumerator under system devices in the device manager. This is causing problems with other things as well (I am pretty certain the below problems are caused by the missing enumerator. How can I reinstall it? View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently built a new computer. The only issue I have right now is that I constantly get a pop-up from Realtek HDAM saying "You just unplugged a device" then immediately "You just plugged in a device".I disabled the popups but they still show up. That's not really the problem, I can live with that. It's the annoying cut out of audio every 20 seconds followed by the audio being a lot quieter. Originally I installed the drivers from the motherboard CD (Asus P8Z68-V Pro/Gen3). Frankly those worked better but I still had the issue, I updated the drivers to a newer version, but now I keep getting this problem more often.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a new monitor, and also a new USB to RS 2343 converter cable that both came with a CD that apparently has Drivers for the devices on them.
They don't start automatically in auto-play to load, and my reading of the file labels in the CD makes no sense to me.
So, with the CD in the drive just sitting there, what do I do to actually get the PC to recognize the Drivers in the Folder(s), and load them in the appropriate places ?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAOTBE, this doesn't happen at all when I have a normal PS2 KB/Mouse plugged in. However when I replace that with USB KB/Mouse there is a problem. This has been happens whether I use my Logitech USB KB with Logitech Mouse. And the same with Razer KB and Razer Mouse. So I'm presuming this happens with any KB/Mouse plugged in by USB. I'm in Windows. I hit reset, and it freezes at the post. I'm in Windows. I shut down the PC. The next time, I power it up, it goes through a really really long boot to Windows. Then the screen goes blank. The only way to resolve this is by completely powering off my PC. Meaning I shut it down. Then flip the switch on the PSU to off. Only when the power to the PSU has been switched off will the PC boot all the way into Windows when turned on and powered up. And even in this case, it takes a pretty long time to boot. IDK if Windows 7 normally should take that long.
