I get home from work and my mouse and keyboard stopped working. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling USB controllers but no luck. They are both plug-in-play. Really not enjoying Win7, might go back to XP.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have actually had this problem every time I've re-installed the OS and can't seem to figure out how to fix it. When I install Windows 7 x64 and plug in my mouse or printer right away they will discover the drivers and work automagically.After I go through the Windows updates they just don't seem to work anymore. The only thing I've been able to do to get them to work is run this little MS program(http://windows.micro...ith-USB-devices) I found that apparently forces what I have plugged into the USB port and isn't responding to install drivers and work. I just don't know what to do so I don't have to run this program any time I try to plug something into the USB ports.What's kind of strange is I have an external drive that I plug in and it works before and after the updates without running that program. Anyone have any idea what might be wrong?
Using a HP Pavilion g7 1075dx Notebook PC just fyi.dit: Actually I just tested unplugging the mouse and printer after they were working, restarting the system, and trying to plug them back in again. They don't work again. So as it stands I would have to run that little MS Fix It program every time I plug them in to get them to work.
windows says the container for plug ins has stopped working a bunch of times. havent noticed any problems but don't know what that means. when I click search for solutions it does not work. is this something I should care about or just ignore?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a new cisco e2000 router and had no problem connecting to it on all the devices in the house (about 10 of them)Just now, all the devices in my room (ipod, netbook, phone, and laptop) lost a connection to the router and no matter where I am in the house none of these 4 devices can get a connection. I can see other networks, just not mine. They all worked perfectly fine before, and out of nowhere they stopped working. Other devices that were not in my room at the time of this 'wifi surge' still have a connection to the router.The wired connection works and that's how I'm typing this right now.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThey told me that there were a lot of updates that were recently applied and I'm wondering if one of them was an optional driver update provided from Microsoft for his printer. When you go into Devices and Printers the printer is shown but it isn't considered a printer, with the icon for it falling under "Unspecified" (see attached screenshot).I've seen BSOD's result from drivers for wireless adapters and video cards that were delivered via Windows update before so the first thing I tried was to go to HP's website and download the basic driver from their website, a very small download. Installation appeared to be successful and for a moment appeared to fix the problem because a queued print job started to print. But when we tried to print something else the system said there were no printers installed to use again. Also for a brief moment the printer (as well as a couple of other soft printers like the Fax option and Microsoft's PDF maker knockoff; can't remember what it's called) did appear for a minute with the green check mark over the correct printer icon. It looked like it was fixed for about a minute but then reverted back to what you see in the screenshot without any interaction from us.

From task manager, I can see that this is due to a svchost.exe, relative to several services, like Plug & Play and DCOM launch..
I think it's because of the Plug & Play service.. I've already unchecked any sound enhancements from control panel, updated any driver and there are no viruses or malwares..

Accordingly, I tried to follow the common steps ( machine.inf file...add hardware device system device.. download Plug and Play ) but it did not work, saying cannot find file. Now when I place that in an enclosure and want to use it as an external HDD drive, it doesn't pick up the device. Through Diskpart I am able to give the drive a letter and access it, but when I "Safely" remove device, the Drive letters remain....
- Do I need to do anything special to make the Device a Plug and Play?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am currently running a tablet netbook with Windows 7 pro x32. It's not powerful enough to run photoshop very well, and my license wouldn't let me put it on there anyway. However, this netbook is a tablet. I'd like to use it for graphics, as it has a Wacom digitizer.
What I'm interested in doing is running a VNC to access my desktop (running Windows 7 pro x64) and be able to control photoshop from my tablet.
Currently, I've tried Windows Remote Desktop, and while it works fairly well, two things are wrong:
1) Mouse/Tablet input seems to be compressed. This turns my curves into straight lines unless I go reeeeally slowly. Is there any way to change this?
2) There seems to be an option for plug-and-play drivers to be transferred, is there *any* way to make pressure sensitivity work?
I have looked into other solutions, such as TightVNC, UltraVNC, and LogMeIn Free, but VNC isn't very secure (and I don't want to deal with SSH tunneling) and LogMeIn Pro is expensive, while LogMeIn Free is limited.
On that note, I haven't been able to find out *anything* relating to the security of Windows Remote Desktop. Is it encrypted, or what? Security is important to me, as I am running both the desktop and the netbook on networks that I have no control over, and are inherently insecure.

I recently upgraded my comp to a full custom build (z77 sabertooth, i5-3570k, 16GB ram, Windows 7 Professional 64 bit) and can't figure out how to set my audio playback devices to play separately. On my previous comp, which had Windows Vista Home Premium, whenever I changed the default playback whatever audio was playing already would stay on the devices it was playing on and whatever new windows I opened would play on the new default device. I've looked and looked but can't find any options similar to this.
How can I set my comp so that I can play one audio through my tv and separate audio through speakers?
I have Windows 7 64 bit, Realtek onboard sound.
I have USB speakers and today bought a USB headset. I can't seem to get them to both to work at the same time when plugged in. I usually like to keep the headphones around my neck while using the mic, but listen to my nice Bose speakers. When it gets to be late at night, just put the headphones on and turn off the speakers. Either way, the mic needs to work at both times.
They are both plugged into USB slots in the back of the computer.
Recently my computer has been force closing applications like Photoshop and Windows Explorer. It usually happens when I right click in Explorer or try to open anything in Photoshop. When it happens, a dialogue box comes up that says "Windows Explorer has stopped working" or "Adobe Photoshop has stopped working" Under the details it displays this information:

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo i have a headset i use for gaming and it has a headphone and a mic jack, at the moment i have it set up so i can hear my xbox 360 and my computer sound at the same time with my xbox sound coming from the line in jack. When i try to use my mic however it uses my xbox sound instead i can get my mic to work if i unplug the line in jack coming from my xbox but then i cant hear my xbox. So i was wondering if there is anyway i could use both at the same time.

I installed windows on a different disk everything else remained the same, now the mouse and kb work. Is there a known fix for this? If not is it possible somehow to transfer the user settings from one disk to another, so i get the same settings on the new drive perhaps (mind you, no mouse or kb support on one of those windows)?I have tried a lot of windows disk fix things, none of them have any effect, very strange, have never seen this before. Usually i get pretty much everything fixed using google, but this one.
