Loaded Windows 7 And Glitched Up Desktop And Froze
Dec 28, 2011
Windows 7 started and once it loaded the desktop it glitched up kind of like the rrod does with the 360 all the programs on my desktop had lil. glitched box's surrounding them and it froze up did it 2 times after rebooting then i booted into safe mode and it booted fine i moved a program that booted with Windows 7 while in safe mode to the desktop so it wouldnt boot with Windows 7 and i don't think that had nothing to do it but it started normal after being in safe mode.
i have shutted down the PC with Win7. When i Started again it loaded as usual but after the desktop cames in ,and the blue screen has appeared and restarted the computer again and aftr repetead again again
The internet seems to disagree. From my research the conclusion I drew was that any shortcut icon on the desktop (that is, anything contained somewhere other than C:users[user]desktop) is not loaded into ram since it is contained in storage while programs and files that are located on the desktop are loaded into ram upon startup.
After my computer froze during the reinstallation I get a message telling me to restart my computer to allow the installation to finish, however it never does.
I was trying to reinstall windows 7 and my computer froze. Now there is an error saying that the setup will resume after I restart, however when I do the same message pops up.
Ran Windows Update on wife's computer today (Biostar A75-MH mobo, AMD A8-3850, 8Gb DDR3-1600, 64Gb Samsung 830 SSD boot drive, Win7 x64) and upon restart it froze at 35% installing the updates. After it did nothing for 30 min I rebooted. It boots to the desktop but with an error box saying failed to load sortbls.nlp. Explorer isn't working, can run any programs, Start menu won't come up, just sits with the blue circle spinning. Tried to run system restore but the 11-15 one disappeared from the list when I tried to run it and now just shows the only restore point as Windows Update Critical Update from today which fails. Startup Repair says no problems.
On this recent windows update, 2/14/13, my computer froze on the "Preparing to configure windows" screen for several hours. I rebooted normally and the screen went to "configuring updates" and stuck at 67% for about an hour. I got frustrated with it and rebooted to safe mode to see if I could do a system restore and when I did it said there was no restore point back up! So I rebooted normally and now it is still just sitting on the "Preparing to Configure Windows" screen with the circle spinning. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate on a Dell Dimension 2400.
i installed 95 updates and let my pc shutdown i left it for 20 mins then restarted it configured the updates then was going in the welcome screen but froze with a white cursor i had to restart my pc and everything is ok now why did this happen
My hp laptop froze while i was performing system recovery. I got as far as backing up my existing files...8 dvd's worth. I restarted a few times and then froze on a grey screen with my cursor flashing in the upper left hand corner...I tried using my system recovery dvd that I made but still nothing.
I am at the last part and it seems to be froze, it says "completing installation" its doing nothing, the little "..." at the end of the text are still going but that's it, is this normal? I am installing through a USB.
I was uploading a photo to Facebook when my computer suddenly stopped responding. I cancelled the program and while doing so the laptop completely froze. After shutting down the laptop the laptop loads until the "starting windows" message and then turns into the black screen of death. No other options work including starting in safe mode and I cannot back my data to DVD R becuse windows 7 won't accept a DVD R.How can I back up my data and get my computer working again?
Today, I was browsing the internet, while watching a stream of MLG. While suddenly my comp screen shows weird glitchy lines and the sound freezes, i end up turning off my computer and restarting it, but the glitchy screen still shows and wont startup to login screen. I was able to startup into safe mode (still with the weird glitch on screen) but the restoring and doing startup repair seems to not have fixed the problem.
I just installed my first pc game. It is Call of Duty Black Ops (no, I'm not 12, my nephew is )I changed install path to D:Games (have user folders relocated there, thats about it, no programs ever installed on d data partition.Installation froze and locked up first time. Had to power off to get out.Second time was logged off my admin account by nephew while installing, though the install ran for a long time - should have completed anyways, after installing, it's not showing anywhere: checked box for install desktop shortcut - not there, not showing up under win start> all programs or games.Tried to launch directly from install path folder... blackops.exe ERROR says: "Blinkw32.dll missing...
1) I never installed steam or anything, could that be the problem?(I'm on different pc now, game pc doesn't have internet right now
2) Can't uninstall! Not showing up as installed program. Uninstaller in game directory won't work. There are 2 uninstall.dll ( 1 for each failed install I guess)
2a) Windows didn't recognize as a program install cause no restore point created before (IS This because I changed install path away from C:programs???)In future how do I deal with installing games to d data partition and have system trat as program install? not listed as program, can't uninstall from control panel
2b) HOW DO I REMOVE FAILED INSTALLS (BOTH).Do I just delete or did the installer likely create all kinds of entries in various other locations that would possibly leave HUGE files elsewhere???
The problem started when I pressed alt-tab while I was playing a game. After alt-tab, the system froze and so I tried Task Manager with no result. I pressed reset button and then I realized that the computer cannot boot Windows (I only have installed windows 7). I tried system restore, fixing boot problems using Windows 7 installation DVD but it didn't help. I don't wont to format the Computer because I have important files that I haven't backed up. Can I do anything to save the files?
I removed Win8 and replaced it with win7. Once the install of win7 is done i can make changes to my desktop but once i restart my computer it doesn't reboot at all. It just continues as a cycle of endless rebooting. I also went into the Bios to make it boot from HD but nothing.
the computer is a Samsung np300e5c. Bios is Phoenix SecureCore Tiano Setup
I have a new Acer aspire 5750G all singing dancing comes with every thing except office. I set it up for first time use put some bits on it and then made a big mistake...like a fool i wrongly loaded windows 7 home premium over it instead of the office 10 disc. The desktop nows only shows the recycle bin, no net, no nothing, i can not do a thing with it to put this right.
I have a computer on which the usb devices stop working/receiving power once windows has loaded (they work up untill windows finishes loading). I installed windows on a different disk everything else remained the same, now the mouse and kb work. Is there a known fix for this? If not is it possible somehow to transfer the user settings from one disk to another, so i get the same settings on the new drive perhaps (mind you, no mouse or kb support on one of those windows)?I have tried a lot of windows disk fix things, none of them have any effect, very strange, have never seen this before. Usually i get pretty much everything fixed using google, but this one.
I recently installed windows 7 on my desktop. During boot up I can use my keyboard, but once windows loads the keyboard is unresponsive. I've tried a wireless and wired keyboard. I also have a wireless keyboard and mouse combo in which the mouse still works but still no keys.
Basically, the title sums it all up. Everytime I load the windows 7 professional, the 3 programs loads itself up too. Both Word and Excel starts with an empty page. IE9 will try to connect to the internet. And I can't seem to disable them from autostart. I have looked in the Startup folder. It's empty. I've tried msconfig. I don't see anything related to IE9, or MSOffice in there.
As stated, loaded xp after shrinking the drive and using easybcd. got all going but can't load updates for xp. I'm downloading sp3 for xp and have shut down AV and the firewall on the Windows 7 side. get a code which i didn't write down. Are there issues when doing an upgrade with xp, or does sp 3 need to be installed first ?.HOW does one become a donating member to get the lights on ?
I bought my acer recovery and system discs and loaded them everything went smooth untill the end put last disc in and it loaded it and then said windows will complete installation after restart then it shut off and restarted the lil wii fii light came on and blue disk light blinks but nothing on screen?
I have a new computer that runs Windows7 64 bit. I have an older computer hard drive that has XP.I needed something from the old hard drive and hooked it up with the cables from the Windows 7 hard drive and it booted up and ran. I've since gone back to using the Windows 7 hard drive. How do I proceed to add that second hard drive running XP to the new computer so I can have the option of running either OS? I've read through some posts, but they all presume you are installing the OS to new clean hard drives, not have them already installed. Is it as simple as hooking the XP drive into the computer as a second drive and booting it up? Do I need to change some external setting on the hard drive to have it recognized as a slave? Will Windows 7 automatically change the boot to recognize the second OS and allow a choice at startup?
I'm trying to wipe my pc, and reinstall windows 7. I have to use a downloaded version. It's legit, I've used it before. I just want to rid my pc of all the crap on it.I have a toshiba satellite p755d. It won't boot from any kind of media, nor does it seem to recognize it until windows is loaded.I went to the bios to change the boot order but I couldn't find that option anywhere. I've tried all the function keys as well as holding down the "c" button when the pc boots up.The most I get is a "Windows Error 'something'" I can't remember what it says at something.
