Then when I have time, I have tried to go in and set up folders, by year 2011, Month, or activity such as folder named 'Holiday's that would be in the 2011 folder... when I move the pis to a newly created folder to organize them all, it freaks out and gives me some error message! It seems then the pictures are lost or unaccesable because they were moved. Am I not allowed to touch these, and orgainze once downloaded? those that undestand where I am coming from and can tell me how it work and what to do.

View 0 Replies View RelatedI just loaded Win 7 pro and in my pictures library I have a folder path that goes to no where. It was a folder in my external drive that no longer exists . The problem is when I tried to do a back up it failed and said it was because the folder path was missing. I tried to delete the folder but it will not let me.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSaved it to access it easily, actually it's the email itself (the icon is an nveloppe) I sent to a library folder, i can't delete it. I tried to send it elsewhere, it sends a copy of itself but won't delete: every copy is NOT deletable.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a problem when I click on a particular folder in my computer. (I don't have to open it, I only have to select it).I get an error message from Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library saying, 'This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information'. The application (which I assume is Windows Explorer), has to restart. I have no problems selecting any other folders. The problem folder is on my external hard drive, which hasn't been connected for a couple of weeks. But I then found that the error occurred on that folder's copy on the internal drive. (The two drives are not synced - I had simply made a back-up copy about a month ago).

I can't use any keys or shortcuts on my keyboard. Only the mouse and open programs through the folder window. There was no error message in the booting process and it was fine last night.

Their is a weird folder named "WINDOWSTEMPDIR_FONTCONFIG_CACHE" in my Pictures Library. After searching I haven't been able to determine what this folder is for or why it was created. Is it OK to delete it or should I move it, leave it alone or what?
Some picts in my library have gone missing, sort of. One of the folders holds 11 subfolders and the picts in these don't show. The folders show 0 bytes. If I open Kodak Easyshare these picts show for a split second so I know they are somewhere. What can I do to restore them to the original location?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to share my MUSIC folder on my Windows Home Server (WHS) to my Music Library.
Pretty simply structure, so thought this should not be a problem. If I add the entire folder to the Library only 1/3 of my songs are listed. In trying to understand what is happening I found that only 2 of the 5 sub-folders under MUSIC are included (Songs1 and Songs5).
Starting over, I removed the "MUSIC" folder from the Library and then proceeded to add each sub-folder indivually. What I found is I could add 2 sub-folders (Songs1 and Songs5), but adding the other 3 sub-folders returned an error message, "this network location can't be included because it is not indexed". If I add any new folder under MUSIC I can't add it to the Library either.
I'm thinking this has to be some type of security or user issue but can't think of what it would be since some of the sub-folders under MUSIC can be recognized, while others, including new folders, can not be added. Anyone have any suggestions?
I have my "pictures" folder on a separate disk drive and have set Libraries to include it. However, I still have Microsoft's My Pictures folder and can't get rid of it. As a result, many applications get confused and save files to the wrong folder or I loose files myself. How can I modify the default Library to point ONLY to my chosen folder and not the defaults please? Or alternatively, get rid of the MS default library system completely as I HATE being forced to be organised like this by MS when no alternative is offered that works!

View 8 Replies View RelatedOn various pictures, I've seen it read the XMP "Title" tag, the EXIF "Description" or "User Comment" tag, the IPTC "Caption" tag, even Keywords or Sub-categories.
So my question is, what's the limit to it all? I would think that "Title" would only display a metadata tag with a similar name, like XMP DublinCore Title, or, if it could only find its IPTC counterpart in a file, Fixture Identifier. I suppose that when you don't give yourselves all that much space to work with, as is the case with the bottom panel of a Windows 7 Explorer window, doubling- and tripling-up like this can be considered practical. Maybe I haven't looked far & wide enough. All the same, I think that a tooltip or some easily-gotten-at description of the fields in that bottom 3/5 of the window would be more than enough to satisfy one's curiosity.
I won't add mischief to misery and ask "Why was this done?" as I've already partly come up with a reasonable answer myself (available space within the bounds of the window). I'll just ask if anyone else has been curious about this, and if so, invite them to comment here on this thread.
We recently installed Yahoo messenger and suddenly the Library folder isn't showing any folders/files under the Administrator account. When I go to create a new Library it reads the following error message: "Unable to create the new file 'New Library.library-ms' File System Error: (16389)." Not only is the library no longer accessible, but I cannot access any of the Music, Pictures or Documents from the Start Menu.I am only able to access the folders using the search bar by selecting "User Name" from the drop down box, then suddenly everything's there. It will not allow me to drag/drop anything into the Library folder or even create a new one.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is a brand new machine with a brand new install of Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit SP1. I'm having a problem with the inheritable permissions. In the Advanced Security Settings for one of my games, I'm trying to Include Inheritable Permissions From This Objects Parent. The check box has a check in it and it is grayed out but under Inherited From, is shows <not inherited>.
I click on Change Permissions, the Include Inheritable Permissions isn't grayed out and has a check in the box but when I click on Apply, it doesn't change the inheritable permissions. It's probably something I'm not savvy enough to catch but I think I'm at the limit of my knowledge with this. It shows me as Owner with all permissions but still having a problem getting it to start without a pop up asking if I want to let it run.

Windows 7 Home Premium: I want my PC to sleep after 20 minutes, so I can leave it on all night and come back in the morning and start using it right away. ( I have a password, so no one could steal it or anything, and start using it )
I have a screen saver setup to come on after 5 minutes, and sleep mode after 20.
I have it on a APC UPS set with their software, to silent, so if the power goes out overnight ( very rare and usually short ) it won't beep and wake me up. Besides, if it's asleep, it could literally go for days without power line power.
My problem is not remembering sometimes, because I come in half asleep when I wake up, and see a black screen, then reach over and hit the UPS button, not realizing I'm turning it OFF instead of ON!
But is there a way to set Windows up so that it DOES go to sleep after 20 minutes, but some kind of minimal screen saver keeps going on the screen, so I KNOW it's in sleep mode and not off?
I use the Mystify screen saver anyway, which is pretty minimal, so if that could be kept on while the Hard Drive and everything else that uses power and ages the electronics sleeps, that would be great.
For some reason, I cannot get the photo screen saver to include sub directories. I select either my pictures folder, or my pictures library, and in both cases, it only seems to poll those pictures in the root of pictures, as well as sample pictures.. None of the other folders in the pictures folder get polled... Any suggestions?
Also.. for some reason, the screen saver does not start when it should. I can preview it from the screen saver configuration screen, but it doesn't start on it's own after the allotted time....
I want to tweak my OS down to the core gpedit.msc makes it really simple and everything is there.

View 9 Replies View Relateddoes the Ultimate version of Win7 include both installations x86 and x64?Second question, I usually format my computer pretty often, and I want to save some dough and just get the Upgrade version of Win7 Ultimate. I can use the upgrade over and over again right? Like, if I format my hard drive a bunch of times, as long as that copy of Win7 isn't being used by another machine, I can continue to install it and activate it right? Also, is there any difference between an actual retail copy, and the upgrade?
