Laptop Goes On Once Opened And Keeps Cutting Off Before Starting Fully
Mar 9, 2011
Today, I noticed my laptop seems to come on whenever I open it. It then cuts off before starting fully. A startup repair program ran a couple of times and the laptop now lasts longer while on. However, when I turn it off, it starts automatically when it is opened. I ran malwarebytes and zone alarm with no effect. I then ran RKill and it stopped 3 programs.
Processes terminated by Rkill or while it was running:
C:\Windows\sysWow64\SearchProtocolHost.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Common\Google Updater\GoogleUpdaterService.exe
C:\Users\Oshodi\AppData\Local\Temp\IswTmp\DwlRun\eXplorer.exe
I am re running the malwarebytes now. I am running a Windows 7 ultimate on a sony vaio.
Been having some crashes. At first they occurred on start up. Claiming the computer wasn't properly shut down. Now today, the other crashes started, with the first happening out of nowhere, the second happening upon starting a video game. I've been without crashes for a while now, only having used my browser(Opera) and copying some files to an external hard drive. As well as the SF tool.I only have 2 dump files available. SF tool file should be in attachments, unless I made a mistake somewhere
I have strange freezing problems on my Asus N82JQ laptop. When playing most games and watching movies their will be freezing and/or audio problems with audio cutting in and out. Whats truly strange is by running a scan on malware bytes the problems seem to go away and then immediatly return after the scan completes. I have updated my drivers, ran countless different anti-virus programs and searched throughout google yet I still have no solution.
Laptop will not turn off when I tell it to shut down. The operating system seems to shut down, but the computer itself stays on (case lights and fan are still active) and can only be turned off by holding the power button for 4 seconds. I have tried everything short of re-installing the OS - which I cannot do because of the non-transferable programs I have on this laptop. It is a Dell Vostro 3450 running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.
i went to boot my system as i have done for the past 8 weeks, this time it booted up normal but froze about 30seconds after the desktop shows up. i have covered all the bases i can think of (advanced sys recovery)didnt work, (safe mode) still freezes.
I just upgraded (via Customer Install) my Vista laptop to 64-bit Windows 7 HP.
Under Vista, I was able to set Power Options so that the computer would go to sleep/hibernate when I close the lid. That works in Windows 7.
However, I was also able to set the Power Options so that the laptop would wake up and restore Windows when I opened the lid. So far, I have been unable to set that behavior in Windows 7.
How to full format my laptop hard drive. I have already Re install windows 7 in E: drive. Previously I have win-7 in C: drive after encounter some problems, Re-install new Windows 7 but that time I didn't format the hard disk that's why its install in drive E. Now when start the up of the lap top both selection are coming will start with old win or new win-7...and having some trouble with my windows 7 that's why I want to full format the hard dive without bootable disk and install new win-7.
This topic was posted in Dec without a fix. I have 2 Toshiba Satellite laptops with a Realtek wireless adapter running Windows 7 64 bit. Just started having the problem about a month ago with both laptops. The adapter is disable when lid is closed. I want the computer to go to Sleep when not in use, but the adapter will not reconnect when the lid is raised and I log back in. I must manually disable and then enable the adapter (in Admin mode) to re-connect to the wireless network or reboot the computer. The computer is plugged into the power adapter. Power options are set to maximum performance. I checked all the power settings, adapter properties to automatically connect, and WLAN is the service running in automatic mode. Microsoft Answers has no answer to the problem either.
Ive got a Packard Bell laptop but have just noticed that it only starts up intermittently.Mostly I just get 'Windows is starting' and thats it - just a black screen. I have to shut it down and then it starts up in safe mode repairing the incorrect shut down i imagine.
i have a logitech g110 keyboard i just bought and it has the ability to plug in my usb headphones directly to the keyboard for audio. i'm currently using a set of turtle beach earforce x11's.the audio is perfect while playing games, but when i revert to just websurfing, specifically Internet, the audio will cut out after a few seconds and i have to constantly keep enabling/disabling the "playback devices" to get it to work again. it is extremely annoying.is there something i can do to get this to stop cutting out? i went through control panel and made sure all the usb pnp drivers are up to date, and they are.
My laptop decided not to start up today. It shut down last night normally, today it keeps getting stuck on "starting window". I tried safe mode, but it gets stuck at starting windows. I tried starting from disk, it says loading files then it goes start to the starting windows and gets stuck. I tried pressing f8 but there is no repair computer option. Did my ssd die?
For about a week now my laptop has been starting with a 'Temporary Profile' It says that i should retry logging on later, but i have tried logging on many time, the thing is, as well as it loading up onto a Temporary Profile, it litterally takes 10 minutes for my laptop to load, it say the 'Welcome' screen for ages, then says 'Preparing your desktop' then loads the temporary profile, i've tried rebooting, system restore, but it does exactly the same thing?
For a little while now, completely randomly it would seem, the USB ports on the back of my PC will seemingly cut in and out indefinitely until I do a restart.
If the devices that were plugged into the back USB ports are switched to the USB ports on the front of the case, there isn't a problem at all.
I'm almost certain that the problem is not with my mouse and keyboard as like I said, plugged into the front they work fine.
One night watching online tv sound disappeared and then few second later came back.So now I am getting random times where sound just cuts out for 2 - 40 seconds, This happens when watching movies, playing games, listening to music and ect.I got a Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCI Express Sound card and my on-board sound chip is disabled and I got Logitech 5.1 x-540 Surround systemI've done some tests when the sound cut off I plugged the audio cable to on-board chip(Enabled it for the test) and then the sound card but they both had no sound. So I am guessing its not hardware issue. I did nu-installed old drivers and installed new ones but they haven't fixed the issue.
In our company i made a securities that the employee could na install any apps etc... this is my setup... i go to group policy editor then user configuration/administrative template/system/run only specified windows application.I enable the run only specified windows application with the apps that i want to run in that computer.
I have a Toshiba laptop, that always freezes randomly. It worked fine up until about a week ago... I can't do anything, I start a program or a game, or open the internet and it freezes usually within five minutes. I can't do anything to fix it, like move the mouse or press control alt delete.
My hp laptop suddenly always starting with startup repair. It has been working fine for months and now it cant startup. Could this be caused by running a java game for too lonng? Or possibly overheating?
I own a Samsung QX410 and while I was browsing the Internet it crashed and would not start normally without crashing. So I've tried running Repair my system, even Repair my computer from my windows disk. But every time I do that it comes to a blue splash screen (with the bird, leaf, etc.) and it would not do anything. No options would come up and it would just sit there.
my dell n4010 (14R) is working fine if no software is installed on win 7 but after installing small software of daily use. If shutdowned is being not able to start.what kind of proble is this. hardware or software.
My boyfriends laptop stopped working and when we tried to restart it we chose the option which was recommended to restart it in the mode which could try and fix the problem. However when we selected this option it loads no further than the blue windows start up screen with the little leaves on it. We tried to start up windows normally and it won't let us do this either.
my laptop is not working. launch up repair is not starting. i have dell's inspiron 15R laptop. when ever i start my laptop it ask for launch up repair and start window normalyy. i have gone through both options but still my windows in not starting. when ever i select launch repair blue screen arrives and no dialog box appear on screen for many hours.. what is happened with my laptop and why its not starting. there was no virus in my laptop, m sure abt it.. is my windows is not working properly or is there any problem with my hard disk?
Lately the computers in my house have been having an issue maintaining a stable Internet connection. Our setup is the typical cable modem -> wireless router -> computers. We can connect to the wireless network no problem (always with the "Internet Access" icon as well), but typically pages cut in and out. This will happen once or twice a day out of nowhere, and last for a while.
The cable modem lights indicate nothing unusual. Resetting the wireless router doesn't seem to make a difference. I've picked an optimal channel. I'll be trying plugging an ethernet cable into the router later today to see if that works.
I'm not sure if it's the router or the cable modem causing the issue, or sure how to determine which it is. I don't mind buying a new one of either, but I'd rather not buy both
The volume on my hp 5260f Windows 7 starting cutting in and out. Ive used it with no problem for over ayear. Tried a system restore and all the fix it tools. Today it has no sound at all and the device manager says everything ok. Is it time for a new sound card?
I have problems (hardware/software)when starting my laptop (Presario F700) AND after getting to my desktop. When I start my computer, there are three things that can happen:1) It will stay at the "Compaq" screen for a while (like three long minutes) then go to my desktop.2) It will go passed the "Compaq" screen and stay at a black screen with a blinking dash (again for about three minutes) then go to my desktop.3) Or it will go passed the "Compaq" screen, stay at the black screen with blinking dash but then it will eventually say "The Operating System was not found"This is the least of my worries though, when I get to my desktop, after about three minutes, it will automatically restart.I am able to stay on safe mode without it restarting.Another problem I am having is when I try to open a program like Notepad or Command prompt (and probably more) I get this message: "The item '***' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly"
