View 5 Replies View RelatedI have installed theme Placebo Angst and it looks really sweet, but I faced one problem in it with my skype window, when skype login window appears the panel looks fine, but when Skype is loaded up it gets back to normal mode, so my question is there any tutorial how to modify it or maybe a refresh function somewhere to apply the panel as it is in all other windows? Here is the image, top panel is skype and the bottom one is browser.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I've got this computer:
Windows 7 ultimate (legal)
version : 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 build 7601 x64
Proc : Intel core i7 CPU 970 @3.2 GHz, 3201 Mhz,
ram: 24GB
So the problems I used to have was when as soon as I logged on to skype or pressed print screen, the entire computer would freeze and there was nothing else I could do exept for a hard reset. When looking for a solution online I found a command for cmd prompt which disabled some debugging; ( even though I have absolutely no idea what this does, I always feel like shutting down parts of windows is not such a good idea)
bcdedit -debug off
I used this command rebooted and to my relief i was able to take screen shots without freezing my entire PC. Unfortunately when I run skype now and log in, my computer freezes and gets a BSOD : 0x00000101, Something about a time signal from a co-processor which wasn't received on time.
When I try to close the personalization window it freezes.

I made everything possible to solve the issue but nothing happened. I also checked that my rams were installed correctly, the pc says that I have 4GB of rams and the available physical memory is 2GB of rams.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have recently installed Windows 7 RC. Since installing it, I have noticed that when I close my laptop lid, the screen stays on. How do I get the screen to turn off without going into sleep or hibernate mode? I've tried messing around with the power options but nothing seems to work.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a ThinkPad T400 and I'm dual-booting Vista and 7 (but I only really use 7). In 7, when you press Windows+P, you get 4 display options: Computer Only, Duplicate, Extend, and Projector Only. Since I just have one laptop screen, I obviously want Computer Only.
But every time I close the lid (or restart), it reverts back to an Extended display, which means when I move the cursor to the right of the screen to use a scrollbar, close a maximized window, or desktop peek, I have to be precise or else the cursor will fly off the right side of the screen into my non-existent extended display.
Any ideas to fix this?
I have a puzzling problem, my new laptop allows a variety of power adjustment settings, however the only choice *sleep* for the lid closing, it is greyed out so I cannot select anything else, in the advanced settings no matter which configuration I choose for the rest, I am given just one choice.I always set ac connected lid close to do nothing on any laptop I have ever had before so I am mighty confused why I have no choice.

I after booting up and logging in everything will load completely then will often freeze for 10mins to upwards of 50mins, and I will eventually get a Microsoft Explorer error and everything will disappear from my screen leaving up only my wallpaper. Then It worked..But i have noticed another problem. my laptop freezes about 2 seconds then Starts up Again.. then freezes and un froze again... Then I am hearing some clicking sound on my disk drive on the right.(where I put DVD/CD's). And my laptop is 1 Year and 1 Month old, I haven't cleaned the fan. I think it has so many dust/oil in it that may also cause's my laptop to freeze from time to time. Then after about 10 minutes the Blue Screen of Death Appears!. It's so frustrating. I tried using Check Disk but it is stuck on the 4th Stage out of 5. like around 53k. I also tried defraging it. but nothing happens. I am in Safe mode now.

Anyway, my laptop, which is an HP Pavilion (1 year old) with an i7 processor and 500gb hard drive, freezes everytime I start it up. My computer was perfectly functional until a few days ago. The first problem that occured was Safari would freeze on my homepage (google) everytime I opened the program. Every other website worked fine. On google chrome everything was running fine including google.com. Eventually safari would freeze no matter what site I went to, so I started using Chrome exclusively, which worked okay until after a couple hours, when it too began to freeze on any website. I ran a virus scan only to find a few tracking cookies and nothing with a high threat level. Well, the next thing I knew my computer itself became unresponsive. Whenever I start it up it appears everything is working until about 1-2 minutes in. Then everything freezes. For example, if I click the start menu or open a folder, it won't open until 30 minutes later if I'm lucky. So I guess my computer is just extremely slow.
I did not do anything out of the ordinary, so I have no idea what is causing this problem. I also tried a system restore, which accomplished nothing. I did notice, however, that my laptop seems to run at normal speed in safe mode, for whatever reason.
Every once in a while during heavy gpu use my computer hard freezes. The screen goes black and i have to hit the power button on my laptop. My troubles started after I updated my video drivers so I tried three different display drivers and even went back to the default driver and my comp still freezes.I noticed my gpu was getting really hot, somewhere in the order of 95-100 C so i though it was a heat issue.
View 8 Replies View RelatedJust recently my laptop has been freezing during video playback. The audio stutters or runs out of sync with the video, the video becomes grainy and jumping 3 or 4 seconds at a time. Just generally struggles to cope with the file. It varies as to how long this takes to kick in. Some times it's half way through a film, sometimes within a few seconds. Once it starts everything is painfully slow and I have to reboot. I've also noticed it takes much longer to reboot sometimes.
I checked in my programs and the Adobe Plug-in had an "X" over it so I uninstalled and then re-installed, thinking I'd found the issue, but it's still the same.
I've run AVG to look for viruses and also cleaned up the registry and so forth with other software but the problem remains. It only starts though when I run video files, this is what seems to start it.
[code] Since purchase, every 2-10 minutes the laptop will freeze for 2-4 minutes during which in some instances I'll be able to move around with the mouse and switch tabs in chrome, but not much else, and in other cases it will be a complete freeze.
