PC Freezes When Logging In On Skype / Using Print Screen Etc
Jan 15, 2012
So I've got this computer:
Windows 7 ultimate (legal)
version : 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 build 7601 x64
Proc : Intel core i7 CPU 970 @3.2 GHz, 3201 Mhz,
ram: 24GB
So the problems I used to have was when as soon as I logged on to skype or pressed print screen, the entire computer would freeze and there was nothing else I could do exept for a hard reset. When looking for a solution online I found a command for cmd prompt which disabled some debugging; ( even though I have absolutely no idea what this does, I always feel like shutting down parts of windows is not such a good idea)
bcdedit -debug off
I used this command rebooted and to my relief i was able to take screen shots without freezing my entire PC. Unfortunately when I run skype now and log in, my computer freezes and gets a BSOD : 0x00000101, Something about a time signal from a co-processor which wasn't received on time.
Every time i turn on my computer and work on it for a few minute, it freezes! and give me this strange screen,Everything works okay up to this point. it freezes and just stay dead until i manually restart it. i'm not sure if this is due to the graphic card or something. i'm a total noob. if you have any idea what the problem is and how i can resolve it.
It just started Friday night, and I don't why it started, or I can't fix it. I tried reinstalling drivers for my keyboard, I tried disabling "Debug" in System Config, and even tried System Restore.
I ran across away to disable SChannel from logging an error message in event viewerI there a way to get PrintService to do the same? Everytime I print I get an error in event viewerThe document Microsoft Word - 2012-2, owned by XXX, failed to print on printer HP LaserJet 1020. Try to print the document again, or restart the print spooler.the printer prints fine and I am tried of getting these and if I can can just disable this from logging then I want to do it. Below is how to do it for SChannel, does anyone know how to do it for PrintService? I searched the registry for PrintService and nothing showed up.[CODE]
i had skype for a long time but a week ago, i tried to log on and i found my laptop frozen, i have hp pavilion 32 bit operating system. i dont know what the problem is :/ i tried re-installing it but that didn't solve the problem, i also checked the firewall in case its blocked but again no nothing.
After I login my computer freezes. My mouse works but it looks like the CPU is thinking. Sometimes I can start in safe mode but others it freezes on the black screen as it is loading. When I stArt in safe mode everything seems to work fine. I have run a virus scan (avg free) and another with eset online scanner and deleted/quarantined found threats. I am running windows 7 premium 64bit.
I have multiple issues that have all cropped up in the past few days. I will try to list as much as I can and as much as I remember doing.I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit running on a Toshiba Satellite L500-1WG. I have had no apparent problems until now. I used to run Kaspersky internet security (free package from online banking) but it wouldn't allow some facebook games to run so I disabled it and used Avast. Avast found a virus in a temp folder upon first quick scan (Win32:Malware-gen) and transferred it to the virus chest on 23.02.11 with a 'last changed' date of 21.12.2010 (was it on there that long and not found by Kaspersky?!?!)Anyway, all good until a boot time scan on 10.05.11 (first one I had run after figuring out what it was) and it found 2 viruses that I hit delete on rather than move to chest - Java:Agent-DI [Trj] and Java:Jade-A [Heur] both in LocalLow Java cache folders. Since then I have had nothing but problems, although I think my trying to do bits and pieces may have had a hand in it too.
I turned Kaspersky back on to do a scan and it didn't find anything except an android rooting thing that it deleted (downloaded but unused). I also tried Malwarebytes after seeing so many recommendations and it has found nothing (I disabled the other antiviruses as I know I had too many but not sure if that is enough or should they have been uninstalled completely?). My Event Viewer has LOTS of errors, warnings and possibly worrying information logs and then I tried turning off some unnecessary start up programmes. I think that is all I have done...When I tried turning it on the other day it kept stalling and freezing and so I turned it off for a day or so. Yesterday I turned it on, it started up fine to the log on screen and once I entered my password I got a black screen with only the cursor. It stayed like this. Today I tried again and it was the same. A few hours later I tried again and after about 5 mins of black screen it loaded up but the wireless wouldn't work. I started it in safe mode and it starts fine. I set it to start up in normal mode and it started but was running extremely slow.
I took my computer completely apart to clean it, put it all back together, fresh install of win 7 and now its giving me issues. when booting, it will hang right after the windows logo pops up, or it will let me login, then after a while either freeze, or the screen will go black and i will have to hit the reset button. it will either have me boot normally or go through the startup repair, that does nothing.
Windows 7 ultimate 64bit was installed on SSD, and a partition on HDD was allocated for virtual memory. It ran everything with no problems. but when I log off, the computer was freezes, and monitor didn't get signal. Then, try to press 'Num Lock' button, not responsing, seems the keyboard already doesn't work. I also have tried to unpluged the cable of keyboard and repluged it, Keyboard still doesn't work. The computer back to normal after restart by pressing 'reset' button, but this trouble will occour again just need a logging off.
I recently re-installed a new copy of Windows 7 my Pc. I did this due to a failure to boot up Windows (this a 3 year old computer and it has had issues software related in th past ) I installed Windows 7 again, but Now every time I try to work on I it freezes wit no warning at all between 2-5 min of logging in. How to know what is going on wrong? Is it a CPU issue? Video card? Memory?
I have a HP Pavillion DV6 laptop. Whenever I turn my laptop on and log on, a few minutes after logging on it freezes. Cant access anything, have to restart it. When turning on I gave it a scan by pressing escape and on the HP checks, the hard disk check it failed. Tried going into command prompt and doing chkdsk /f but get what's shown below.Checking file system on C:The type of file system is NTFS..One of your disks needs to be checked for consistency. You may cancel the disk check, but it is trongly recommended that you continue.Windows will now check disk.Cannot open volume for direct access. Autochk cannot run due to an error caused by a recently installed software package.Use system restore feature from the control panel to restore the system to a point prior to the recent software package installation. I can get into safe mode but that's all I can do.Would it be a good idea to reinstall windows, although I did it not that long ago (in the last two months or so) ? Or is there any programs that could save a hard drive. I really don't want to buy a new one. I've bought the laptop in Summer 2010 so its not too old. Although I think the vans sound quite loud and it overheats quite often, but I cannot take it off to get to them.
when I got it back from her (she's not a pro, btw) and tried to turn it on to make sure everything was clean, it was stuck on a 'logging off' screen. I've tried pressing Control Alt Delete, as well as turning it off with the power switchControl Alt Delete has no effect; the power switch turns it off, but when I turn it back on, the same screen comes up. Heeeelp! All the solutions I found by googling suggest what to do when the home screen comes up. The home screen isn't coming up at all. Is there anything I can do with it in the state it's in now
My windows 7 hangs up after logging in. In safe mode with networking, it is running perfectly. I have had this problem intermittantly, and the last times I got a message that my video driver as stopped working and is recovering. My computer would work fine for about a month or so and then it would happen. I have downloaded latest drivers from nVidia, and have also disabled everything except Microsft items on Startup. The errors I get in the event log is as follows :DCOM got error "1084" attempting to start the service WSearch with arguments "" in order to run the server:{7D096C5F-AC08-4F1F-BEB7-5C22C517CE39}DCOM got error "1084" attempting to start the service ShellHWDetection with arguments "" in order to run the server:{DD522ACC-F821-461A-A407-50B198B896DC}DCOM got error "1084" attempting to start the service EventSystem with arguments "" in order to run the server:{1BE1F766-5536-11D1-B726-00C04FB926AF}The driver detected a controller error on DeviceHarddisk3DR3.The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:

I performed a clean boot by disabling everything except microsoft stuff at startup. The item I eliminated was adobe reader speed launcher. I can not see it in my programs or features so I can uninstall it. With it disabled..my computer stopped hanging.
after the computer is left for a while and goes to sleep on waking the screen goes black and stays black. If the computer doesnt go to sleep i can log in with no issue. so far my only remedy is to restart the computer and sometime even I need to unplug the power.
Another problem with this damn windows 7. Had problems with my windows 7 going blank in my previous post but now i put my laptop to sleep; switch it back on and when i log in, it does blank but you can see and use the cursor but it keeps flashing. alt-ctrl-del is still available. just performed a scan with kaspersky and no problems. can anyone help? anyone experience this?
I have a new Desktop with Windows 7. After I start the computer and leave it running for a while, (10 to 15min), it will automatically revert to the password screen. Also it won't go to screen saver. I have the screensaver set to not require password after waking. Also I have my power settings set to high performance. Also i have my Nic card configured so that it isn't allowed to be turned off.
I have Windows 7 on my laptop and after I start it up and enter my password to login to windows I have to wait another 10-15 minutes for my desktop to appear. It's just a black screen, but the kicker is that I can move my mouse and see it on screen.
Is there a way (and has windows 7 done it) to make the print-screen button to make a .JPG in a specific folder or any folder for that matter. so if you were to take 100 print-screens they would number off in a folder and be 100 files not the latest print-screen on the clipboard.
i have tryed to log in to skype to day but all it does is log in for ages then come up with an error "skype can't connect" i have tried everything to fix it but nothing works. i have uninstalled it, restarted PC, restarted modem. i can connect to everything else but skype and it was working earlier today.
This happen not long after on my PC after a fresh install of Win 7 , tried to use print screen but all of sudden windows froze and I have to restart each time. Are there any people out there got the same problem as me? I'm using the generic labtec ultra flat keyboard btw..
I am an avide genealogist and use Ancestry and Find my Past as research sites, I have been using these sites for a number of years and been able to print from these sites certificates etc that I have found in my research. Of late I have experienced an anoying problem in that I cannot print these any more from the screen shot, if I save the screen as a file to a folder I am able to open the files and print from the file.
I know that both these sites use Djview as a viewer for viewing the files from their sites, but if I can view them surely I should be able to print.
As of about 3 days ago my Dell Inspiron N7010 (Windows 7 Home Prem 64bit) fails to boot up. It gets to the initial Windows screen before the login screen and freezes, then sends me into Startup Repair. [code] I've tried running the diagnostics and get no error codes. I've tried restore points, memory diagnostics.. pretty much everything except factory image, with no success. I have a lot of government programs installed on this laptop, so.
I have a 2 year old DELL laptop that I use mostly for school. Today, when I tried to boot it up, I got past the login screen, and then the computer just does nothing. I get a black screen with a mouse cursor on it. I've looked this up online and have tried the solutions that I have found:
1) Download the fix from PREVX.com - did nothing.
2) Try CTRL+ALT+DEL to get into task manager - did nothing.
3) Boot in Safe Mode (works) and create a new profile - still black screen.
The school semester just started and the school website (I take ALL my classes online) does not work from this desktop (which is an entirely different issue that no one can figure out... not the school tech people, not the DELL people or the Firefox/Microsoft people... no one).
I have a duel boot desk top computer. Windows Xp x 32 and Windows 7 x 64. I modified my server load screen and wanted to check it so I hit the print screen key and pasted it to paint and all I get is a back screen instead of the load screen image. Then I took a image of my desk top and the image is fine. Did the same thing on windows xp and everything is fine, the load screen image and the desk are image are coming out just the way there suppose to. Is there a setting that I'm missing on windows 7 that could be causing my problem.
Of course, it is easy to get a print screen of my primary monitor, but how do I get one on my secondary? Simply clicking on it's background doesn't work.
