LCD Screen Won't Work With HD Cable On Nvidia 7300GS
Sep 18, 2011
I have a Nvidia 7300 GS graphics card, and the drivers were installed etc. I was using it with the white plug cable for HD/DVI for almost a year. Last week, I took the fan off of my pc to clean off the dust and put it back.
After that, the screen wouldn't come on. So to test things I did the following:
1. Tested another pc with the screen - Success
2. Tested another Pc with the graphics card : Success
3. Bought a normal VGA cable (blue plug) - Semi Successful
Ok, so I am not sure what has happened to the graphics card. Is it possible that the HD/DVI slot on the card itself could have blown due to static? The Normal VGA slot on the graphics card works fine. I am using an older box screen with this pc as we speak. But for some reason when I plug in the LCD screen (Samsung Syncmaster 23000) nothing happens. Yet when I plug the Box screen into the VGA slot, the box screen works fine and boots up as normal. But the flatscreen refuses to.
I have checked the drivers in device manager, and it says that it's working fine.
Also, in control panel, it sees the samsung 7300 Gs, but refuses to save the settings for a preview.

I have a Dell Studio XPS M1330 Laptop, has NVIDIA motherboard. I think ever since I purchased the PC this problem has occurred.Problem: NVIDIA nForce 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet card will only detect an ethernet cable when I restart. The minute I unplug it, it will not detect it if I plug it back in. I have searched high and low for a solution but have not been able to find one that works. I have disabled the sleep setting on the device and made sure the computer is not allowed to turn off device to save power.Drivers are updated.

My laptop won't work with the Ethernet cable and say it has an IP conflict. All my computers have an IP address starting with 192 and the laptop has an IP address starting with 169. I did an ipconfig and on ipv4 is where I got the IP addresses. I tried to do an ipconfig / release but it won't release the IP address because of the wireless media.

I would like to know if the last driver for Windows XP made by NVidia for an (AGP) Quadro2 Pro will work on Windows 7. On Dell Workstation 340. I searched this forum and found a thread of a person that said it worked but he didn't said if it worked 100%, as in 2d acceleration, 3d support (OpenGL), etc.. Already contacted NVidiia but their customer service uses the same public search engine so it may be outdated information.

I am planning on finally upgrading to Windows 7, but i want to make sure my graphics card works. It is a nvidia fx5500, and i heard that there were problems with it giving BSOD and such. Can i just use windows update stuff to download the drivers and then it works, or do i have to download the vista drivers and then install them in compatibility mode, or will it give me a BSOD?

System: Win7x64 pro, 32gb RAM, Asus Z77, i7 2600k. Normally boots in less than 60 secs Now, today it will boot to a Black Screen with a movable white mouse arrow (not a blinking cursor).
BUT ONLY if the NIC is enabled and the LAN cable is connected. If I unplug the lan cable or disable the NIC in the BIOS it boots fine. Additionally, if I leave the NIC enabled but unplug the lan cable until AFTER it boots to the desktop, I'm fine. (Thus, I can't assume it's a driver issue. Something is happening upon boot via the network.)
I've looked in the Event Viewer and can find where I have to power off the system via a hard reset and I can see errors when it boots and it sees the NIC unplugged but I can't find anything else.
Something else, it only happens on my User Account. I created another account (aptly called Black Screen) and it booted fine with the NIC enabled and plugged in.
I'm running NIS2012, updated and have done a full scan twice now.
Finally, thinking it was a startup service/program under my original user account I used msconfig to disable all non MS services and disable every startup. It still booted to a Black Screen w/cursor if the NIC was enabled and plugged in. Furthermore, Safemode w/o networking is fine but safemode w/networking has the same problem. BUT ONLY IF THE NIC IS PLUGGED IN AT BOOT - NOT AFTER THE BOOT.
Edit: updated Malwarebytes - scanned and found nothing. Used MS Security Essentials - scanned and found nothing.

I have Windows 7 Pro (RTM) installed on a DELL Precision M65 laptop.
My LAN interface reports "Cable unplugged" although the cable is inserted and working.
I have no network connection through this interface.
the onboard NIC is a Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit adapter and the driver reports it is working correctly.
If i try to install the latest driver from Broadcom, Windows says I already have the latest driver installed!
Any Suggestions?

In Even Viewer, Custom Views, Administrative Events have only one type of Warning:"Name resolution for the name wpad.phub.net.cable.rogers.com timed out after none of the configured DNS serves responded".
UsedWin7 DVD to "repair and upgrade". No solution.
Delete and install again NVIDIA. No solution.
Windows and drivers are update.
Will appreciate very much for suggestion.

Im running Windows7 x64 (build7600) with 2 GeForce 7950GTX graphic cards but it won't let me switch to SLI mode, it will just crash into a blue screen of death. I also tried installing the new 190.62 drivers assuming that was the problem but i get a message during installation "The setup program could not find drivers that are commpatible with my current hardware" and im stuck with no SLI action.
I also have 4GB RAM installed but Windows 7 says that only 2.5 are usable. That's something that is also getting on my nerves and i've tried a couple things that i see in other threads but with no luck. but it still runs pretty fast.

Ive recently installed windows 7 Ultimate64x and are having troubles with nvidia drivers.
What happens is that as soon as either Windows, or myself, install nvidia drivers it over stretches my screen. I tried with the latest drivers (191.07) and the older ones (185.85) with the same issue.
I was reading that I should put all resolutions to native (1900x1200) and adjust the screen through nvidia control panel. This I cannot do because the nvidia control panel says I cant adjust it with the kind of signal it is receiving, which is through a dvi to hdmi cable.
I manage to stop it from over stretching by uninstalling the drivers and just running a generic windows driver.

I've recently installed (evenutally) Windows 7. I say eventually because I have been having big problems with my monitor going into sleep mode.
Basically when I installed windows 7 it would go into the starting windows screen and then after that the monitor would go to sleep and not let you click anything.
I then rebooted the computer and pressed F8 to go into safe mode. No joy, the installation could not be completed in safe mode. So i rebooted again and tried to go into the computer in 640x480 mode. Success!
I was then able to complete the installation of windows. I then went to increase the screen res to the recommended 1280x1024. The computer thought about it and then put my monitor into sleep mode and then 10 seconds later rebooted my computer, forcing my POST screen to say "Hyper Transport Flood Error, press F1 to continue", or something like that.
I then realised that I hadnt installd my video drivers, so i booted back into windows (640x480) and went to install my graphics drivers (NVIDIA GTX 260), half way through the installation my screen went black, into sleep mode and then rebooted my computer.
I then booted into safe mode, which i can now do because i have completed the installation, and installed my graphics drivers. After this i booted back into normal windows with 640x480, checked my graphics had installed, and they had, and then windows said they recommend i change my res to 1280x1024, i did this and guess what... my pc rebooted!
I then rebooted again (640x480) and tried my graphics at 1024x768. Joy! it worked, i rebooted windows and let it go straight ahead without me pressing anything and it works fine!
The only problem is, how do I get a higher screen res than 1024x768?
I have the latest NVidia Graphics drivers and it worked fine in Vista and XP.

I installed Windows 7 on my desktop 2 days back and came across a problem. As soon as the installation rebooted the machine, I got a black screen with mouse cursor and it stayed like that for hours. Initially I thought that there could be some problem in the installation and so I formatted my disks again and reinstalled the OS. This time too I faced same problem.
I looked through some of the forums and people spoke about taking out all the on-board cards and then installing Windows 7. I started by taking my graphics card off, Nvidia 7600 GS AGP -> PNY make, and as soon as I took it out to use my onboard graphics Windows booted properly.
Just to try again, I re-connected my graphics card and tried booting the machine which made it crash. For next few restarts it did not boot, even when I removed the gfx card. Finally, I had to use my Win 7 DVD and repair the installation. System started working again but without my GFX card.
I tried looking through several forums for this problem but did not find any solution. Can somebody tell me how do I reslove this?

It happens when I am playing solitare or writing an email, which is the screen freezes and I have to turn off the computer to regain the monitor function or the computer. The message that I captured in relationship to the issue is WD-20110802-1520.dmp syndata.xml WERInternalMetadata.xml - Video Hardware Error.I have also seen a pop-up that says the NVIDIA card has stopped and successfully recovered.

I have an HP DV8T entertainment laptop with an Nvidia GeForce GT 230M. The current driver is version 267.67. The latest from Nvidia is 280.26.
When I install 280.26, everything appears to go great...until I re-boot. I get the boot screen with the windows logo and the swirly dots. After that, nothing. Just a black screen with the cooling fans screaming.
I tried to uninstall the current 267.67 driver and then install the 280.26 version but I get a pop-up that says "No compatible device found." I also tried to "Uninstall current driver" from the custom install menu on the Nvidia installer. Again, everything appeared to go well until re-boot. Logo, swirly dots...black screen.
Thank goodness for the ability to create system restore points or I could possibly be re-installing Windows. why I am unable to successfully update this driver?

We are having this issue on Windows 7 x86 Ultimate with an Asus M2N-VM DH mobo, which has an NVIDIA GeForce 6150 SE / nForce 430 GPU. If we leave the default driver that Windows installs, we can use Media Center full screen, BUT we can't run the native resolution of the monitor, which is an LG L245WP-BN. When we try to run the install disk supplied with the mobo, which supposedly contains Vista drivers, we get an error saying they "can't be installed on this operating system."

Untill today, I can't set my old Siemens CRT screen MCM 2110 MTD to 100Hz - 32bit - 1024/768 (can run 120Hz with WinXPpro!)
I run Windows 7 on an old mobo Epox 8RDA3+ with Nvidia 7600GT GoldenSample agp, have tried WDDM1.0, WDDM1.1, 181.22, 182.05 Nvidia Drivers, and only WDDM1.0 works (with poor performances).
Mind that the day I installed Seven, everything was running fine and as usual like with WinXPpro (100Hz - 32bit - 1024/768), but after a few updates, my sceen became to flikker and set back to 70Hz. If i try to set 100Hz, i only get 16bit colors.
From now, as I have tried several drivers, i think it is only Nvidia ro Microsoft relevant, and not the screen driver as i mannaged to re-create a working Siemens .inf file with moninfo.exe

I recently got a projector from a friend and im trying to setup dual screen.
First of all im a bit confused by the Graphics Card itself. I looked for pictures of the card which my computer recognizes as a nVidia GeForce 8500 GT and none have a HDMI port but mine does. So i opened the case and the card has ATI and Foxconn written on it but nothing with nVidia on it.
I have a HDMI to VGA cable which im trying to use to go to my monitor but when i plug it in while switched on i get nothing on the monitor but the projector still works and if i plug it in then boot I get no output on my monitor and just just a black screen and the mouse pointer on my monitor.
I have no idea what to do. Any suggestions ?

I have a problem with my nvidia drivers on my new windows 7 I installed on my hp pavilion dv9700t, my screen is dead and I bought a 24" LED screen instead (the lab told me it's a motherboard problem..), I can't find the right resolution for it even with the screens driver, and installing the original nvidia drivers (suitable for windows 7 of course) gave me a BSOD or sent me right away to repair my computer. I searched for a solution and found this link (URL) here but again - I didn't manage to install the nvidia drivers.

I did an upgrade from Vista Buisness 64, to Windows 7 Ultimate 64. Dell Latitude e6400, with Nvidia Quadro NVS 160M. In general, everything went quite well. Except - when I boot up, I get to the logon screen, I hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete, and I log in, then the screen goes blank. If I hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete again, I get the screen where I can switch user, change passwords, log off, etc. If I cancel this, I get blank screen again.
If I reboot in Safe Mode, all is fine. If I uninstall the NVidia driver, then reboot normal, I can log in, but the system is using Standard VGA driver. I have tried various drivers from NVidia, LaptopVideo2Go, Dell (Windows 7 - 181.71, 181.72, 185.81, 185.85, and Latest Vista driver from Dell site). I've tried installing from normal mode, safe mode, I've tried DriverSweeper, I searched the registry deleting all references to the drivers I can find...). One time I did somehow get 185.81 working - I don't know how.
It was running fine 5 five days (I did not reboot during that time, just sleep mode), then I got a blue screen, and back to the blank screen after logon on the 1st boot. I screwed with the system for another day, and finally got the Dell Vista driver to run once. Once again all was well, until I put the laptop to sleep in the docking stn, then woke it up - blank screen again.
I'm typing this msg now with the standard VGA driver. The 2 things that bother me about this driver, are only single monitor support, and the machine will not go into Hibernate or Sleep mode with this driver (not to mention the speed of the driver).

I've been getting the BSOD when trying to open pictures or videos. I thought it was due to installing DirectX 9.0, but I've since reinstalled Windows 7 RC and started fresh again. Now get this. Everything worked fine. I used the 'generic' video driver that gets installed with Windows 7 RC and just upped the resolution to 1280 x 1024.
It worked and looked great, even pics and vids worked, but anything that was graphically taxing became very choppy and pixelated; especially videos. So I installed the drivers that came w/ the Gfx card, everything runs smooth and crisp, but I'm no longer able to look at pics or vids. I get the BSOD every single time. This leads me to believe that the Gfx card driver is the issue. Any known fixes for this?
