nvidia control panel shows 2nd monitor as vga but is dvi and doesnt work it recognizes otherwise as fine in the windows settings and nvidia control panel it got reset ? after I woke it up from sleep how do i force it back?

Setting it up, the NVIDIA option on the control panel has disappeared.Instead, I have the Windows control panel for setting up a monitor, and the nVIDIA device driver for the monitor has disappeared. (There used to be two, the Intel 4 chipset for integrated graphics, and a second one for the nVIDIA device.)The Intel 4 device now lists "NVIDIA" as the manufacturer, NVIDIA is listed as the driver provider (driver version 8.15.11.8688 from 2009). There is an install date of 1/29/2012 though I've had the PC since 2009.Jan 2012 was about the time I reloaded a standard WIN7 after getting fed up with ASUS support for their OEM version (long story).I haven't looked at this in a long time, so no idea what happened.I would rather use the NVIDIA chipset, I think it works better than the integrated (that's why I bought it in the first place.)How can I get the NVIDIA chipset back up and running?
View 6 Replies View RelatedHaving a major problem trying to install the latest drivers for my 8800GT, I went to hook my rig up to my 42" LCD TV through the HDMI input (something I did all the time while on XP) after a clean install of Windows 7 X64. I noticed the desktop was to big for the screen so I went to install 191 driver so I could get the control panel to adjust it.
The install starts fine gets to the installing drivers box but then the install just hangs go's blank, comes back hangs then get a notice say something like "the system could not be updated......."
I've tired unistalling the drivers from the device manager and reinsatlling all in safe mode. The same thing happened trying to install the driver again and there was no "Display Adapter " in device manager. I then restarted and the card installed(the driver?) it's self again
When I check the driver version its 8.15.11.8618
Anyone have any ideas whats going?
im connecting my pc with avi to the tv and my screen positioning is not working with my nvidia control panel.. im hooked up in the nvidia geforce 9800.. checked for tv driver updates and graphics card update all good.

-The lap top
-The external monitor I use
-Another monitor called "No Monitor", (excellent name!).
I've configured the No Monitor to the pull down option "Disconnect This Display", but it's still there. It's not a big deal, but I was just wondering if there's a way to remove it altogether.
A little problem regarding hooking an Asus EEE netbook up to a Haier HDTV/monitor via VGA. Last night, I hooked it up and all went well. My control panel showed me a wide range of resolutions that allowed me to view my entire screen and use the monitor without any problem.oday, I turned the computer back on, and upon switching over to the monitor, my control panel only shows the recommended resolution, which is nowhere near high enough for the monitor. Everything is huge and I can't see most of the screen.I've already tried the following:-Restarting both monitor and computer-Unplugging and plugging back in the VGA cable-Looked at the "show all modes" under advanced options in the display settings. Normally I have only two monitors connected, one on HDMI and one on DVI. Yesterday I brought home a third monitor just to test around a bit, to see if I could get a third monitor working. I had the cables so I tried connecting it to either DisplayPort, HDMI or DVI on either of the cards, alternating. So far I have failed. This is not really a big surprise since I got info from Sapphire telling me it would most likely not work, since the cards do not support multiple monitors beyond two.
The most surprising part was Windows. It tried to detect the third monitor as connected via VGA and extend desktop to it. I went along and played with the settings a bit to no avail. The third monitor (an older Eizo) does not have a VGA port.
So I disconnected it, rebooted just in case, and left the matter for another day. To my surprise, Windows still claims there is a VGA monitor, diconnected, but it is there. My display settings: And the "ghost" display setting: How do I remove this last entry of a monitor that is no longer connected??
So, my problem is I can't access certain links in control panel such as add or delete programs and add or delete user accounts. Also when I right click my desktop and select personalize I get the sever execution error.

I have a IV880-10 (viewed in CD) AsRock motherboard, "Intel core 2 cpu" , 4coredual-VSTA.
When I had winXP, the front audio panel works perfectly but now with 7057 they won't work. I had installed the last audio codecs from realtek but the motherboard drivers (from CD) are incompatible and they don't let me install it on the 7057.
I tried to install them with the compatibility mode (Vista and XP) , but after the restart Windows 7 was damaged and started a "restore system".
So... frontal audio don't are my life, but i like them because they are very confortable to connect my speakers to mp3, ipod, and nother devices.
I'm a little newbie about this, so please can anyone tell me what have I to do to make my frontal audio panel works?
Do I need to download the 4coredual-VSTA drivers from asrock.com ? (bios?, audio?, hdd?)
Or simply is the 7057 that in this moment doesn't support my motherboard front panels?

Means that Fn + F2,F3 doesn't work, change from Windows Power Options doesn't work, change from intel graphic doesn't work. If I have to restart some services to get it working? It's occasional and I can't find anything exact in EventLog. My system is HP Probook 4230s with Core i5-2410 with intel HD3000. Latest patches on both Win 7 Pro 32-bit and intel driver. Restart machines solve the problem, re-hibernate or re-suspend machine occasionally solve the problem, but mostly not.

The keyboard also got a volume wheel which worked with Vista like it should: I could controle the speaker's volume by the keyboard.
Now with Win 7 I can't use the wheel anymore, even with the latest drivers.

I have an Acer Aspire 5741-5979 using a graphics card of Intel (R) graphics. This is a new issue I have had recently. I used to connect an external monitor to my laptop, and it worked fine. The issue is that the laptop still detects the external monitor but the external monitor does not receive a signal when I plug it in the VGA (blue trapezoid connector) have played around with the display options an exhausting amount of times and nothing works there. I tried what worked before (extending the display) and trying to clone it. I thought it might be a driver issue and I reinstalled the driver, but this didn't seem to help either. I have used many monitors when it worked, and also tried different monitors after it stopped working to no avail

I recently purchased a new laptop with windows 7 installed, it was running smooth and fine in the beginning until (i believe is after a windows update) that after startup of window, my COMPUTER panel always opens by itself. I have reformatted the laptop for which i thought it was some kind of virus, then after a few windows update the problem still remain. Am i the only one having this problem?

When doing this I can use either Nvidia's controls or windows controls (right click desktop>Nvidia Control Panel. When using Nvidia's Control Panel, there are two choices: Use other applications control color settings or Use Nvidia settings. Am I correct in assuming that the former setting is Windows? I always check the button to use Nvidia settings (and then Apply>OK), but when I go back to this screen at a later time, the Other applications control color settings is always selected. I'd like to default to Nvidia.

I can open everything else fine such as pics, music, games, videos. But anything that has to with the control panel I can't see. The task bar says the folder is open but I see nothing.I have tried the following: ran sfc, it says nothing is wrong, tried to create a new user account, but I can't since it falls under the control panel. I tried to create a new user account through the guest account (I was able to make it an administrator) but it says I can't create a new account with special characters such as $=- etc... I didn't use any special characters at all so I don't know why it's saying that.
