I've or more specifically my dad have internet problems with hes Laptop running wireless. Sometimes he drops down to 1/5 or 2/5 signal strength. Hes sitting just undernet it. about 2 meter away.Compac CQ61 is hes model by the way while our router is a D-Link DIR-635 and the router is a Zyxxel P-660H-D1
View 1 RepliesI am using a NETGEAR WN111v2 wireless adapter, whenever i connect or disconnect something into a USB port eg. Ipod Touch. It drops out and I then have to reconnect the Wireless adapter. I don't recall this happening on Windows XP

I can't access my wireless internet, I can only get to the internet via hard wire. I have searched Dell and Intel for the network controller driver and the sm bus controller driver, but to no avail.

View 3 Replies View Relatedmy experience with the TEW-424UB V2 wireless UsB device, but first things first:
1. I got a PCI TRENDnet TEW-423PI card which I installed and drivers and software were running ok, until suddenly the device died. Don't really know what happened but never really worked out; I tested it in WinXp system and failed... So I do not recommend to get this device it's kinda crappy.
2. I got a TEW-424UB V2 device and installed it in my Dell Inspiron 1525(running Windows 7) with an alternative Ethernet connection to internet, so I plugged it and Windows told me instantly "the device is not going to work" so I tried installing the drivers from TRENDnet and got a BSOF, I uninstalled everything and plugged it again, I waited a few seconds and windows told me that there are alternate drivers for the device that I should try, so I went over the other manufacturer website and downloaded the other drivers, surprise they worked and the brand is totally different is not TRENDnet, its from silicon integrated Systems so kinda weird (if anyone need this drivers just ask).
3. I removed it from that laptop cuz it already has a working wireless connection and plugged into my main desktop with the drivers on a memory flash, I got it running until I started downloading something and got a BSOD then I reboot the pc and it wasn't able to connect to the net and every time I disabled the device to enable it again got BSOD all the way... I uninstalled everything and got it running again... but I cant download things, just browse the internet and chat. weird stuff...
4. Don't get this device either
I'm on Windows 7 but it keeps automatically installing drivers from 2008 that are for Vista. I think this is one of the reasons I'm getting BSOD problems..And now it's saying they weren't installed correctly.
View 5 Replies View Relatedi just bought a Trust Thinity wireless media keyboard. It comes with no disc or drivers and the usb receiver is just plug and play.When I plug it in it gives me the message "One of the usb devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned."If I keep unplugging and plugging back in it eventually picks up the drivers and installs, unitil I switch off my computer and then its back to square one.
All my motherboard drivers are up to date and bios is on latest version. Iv tryed uninstalling all my USB controllers and restarting. Iv even installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 64bit and 32bit to see if that made any difference but it hasnt.
The keyboard is brand new and I have tryed it on XP and it picked it up, installed the drivers and worked straight away.
I am using Windows 7 Ultimate. I need to use wireless keyboard. When I use bluetooth device it can detect my keyboard but it is unable to establish the connection with keyboard. I can't understand what is the problem. The required driver is installed successfully.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had this problem with my Windows 7 64bit OS ever since it updated a while back (I'm not sure what updates). The wireless adapter that was already installed stopped working, then two successive new wireless adapters (both usb) failed to work as well. The computer just refuses to detect them (although it beeps to indicate it knows a device has been plugged in). A lot of the methods I searched for to fix this issue told me to look in Device Manager, which is empty... None of the methods I've found have worked (Editing permissions etc). I'm tempted to just re-install Windows.

I turned the power on and pressed the little button on the side of the print server to enter search mode. In Windows 7 I tried adding a device but my computer can't find it.I suspect I may have to make some network connection or adjustments using my wifi modem. How to proceed?

For instance my mouse in the Device Manager window has a code 10 and will not work until I use the trouble shooter and it re-installs the driver. View 5 Replies View RelatedI gave my computer to my brother for a day and when I got it back windows 7 stopped connecting to wireless .I unninstalled "steam" for counter strike that he installed but that didn't fix it.I have an XP installed on the same computer and it connects just fine . Also my smartphone , 2 laptops and an XP computer connect just fine so it's NOT a router problem .Most of the times it connects and says "no internet" .Sometimes it says I have internet but when I open chrome or other browser no page opens . But I can open the router page and I don't see my computer in the DHCP list.I believe is either something my brother installed , either a virus he got but I don't know how to troubleshoot

View 4 Replies View RelatedI built a new computer last August. Everything worked except my wireless. Move on to today, and still, the only issue I've ever had is with my wireless. Cabled internet works fine. Wireless does not. I've even upgraded my motherboard in this timeframe too.
Current specs are:
Mobo: Asus Crosshair IV Formula
GPU: HD 5870
CPU: Phenom II X6 1055T
RAM: 4GB of Ripjaw somethingblah
I've tried one internal N network card, and 2-3 sticks. The current one I'm trying is a TP-Link TL-WN81N 300Mpbs N Network adapter. I've used two different routers. My PS3 & iPhone connect fine. My Xbox 360 and PSP both struggle, sometimes connecting but usually not.Wireless on this computer, the issue, connects to the network fine. But it won't enable a internet connection, I never get wireless internet. Every now and then it'll work fine like nothing is wrong and other times it'll be super slow but literally 99.5% of the time it will be connected but with no internet.
A coworkers mother recently came to me with her son's (coworkers brother) laptop saying it wont connect to the internet. She said it started happening when he installed drivers for his printer. He uses a Virgin Mobile 3g broadband usb adapter for internet, and for the life of me I can't figure out whats wrong. It connects (and gets to the virgin mobile account website) but any other website doesn't go through. Both wireless card and 3g card do this.

Wife just got new Dell computer. It recognizes the wireless, it connects, but, No internet.I take the computer to work, and it connects right away to the wireless network, no problem, internet works perfectly.
HeI am at wits end here trying to figure out how to fix this pc. A friend came to me with the Acer Aspire One D255E with a wireless internet issue. The PC is Running Windows 7 Starter 32-bit. I immediately thought "well there must be a switch that she turned off" There is no switch on the computer for the wireless card. I thought "well there must be a driver issue, Ill go to the device manager and update the driver for it". Then when I got to the device manager... Nothing shows up for a wireless lan card even existing in the laptop, but I know it does, because A) It's a "net Book" B) she was using the internet last week. So, I thought maybe it's not showing up because thee computer needs the drivers for it first, which is unusual, but since its windows 7 starter I thought it needed a kick in the rear to get it goin. So i downloaded all the drivers for the PC using a different computer, and installed the different drivers to see which one would work. Well none of them worked, and now im sitting here scratching my head on what to do next. I have scoured the web and seen a few other people with issues like this.

And I would again be able to go wireless. However, the problem has occurred and now persists. I have a Sony Vaio laptop, running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, Up until 2 days ago I had absolutely no problem using its wifi and/or staying connected to the Internet. Two days ago, however, while being on Skype, my Internet connection got disconnected unexpectedly. �With windows Network Diagnostics,I sometimes get "The DNS server isn't responding", and sometimes "Local Area Connection/Wireless Network Connection doesn't have a valid IP configuration"OR "computer is trying to use a DNS server that is incorrect or doesn't exist."Even with the cable I am not able to connect to the internet so I can't update the network adapter or fix the problem online. Looking at the 'Basic network information and set up connections' (in Control Panel - �Network and Sharing Center) I see my laptop (sometimes connected, sometimes however the line between the laptop and the 'unidentified network' has a yellow triangle on it) �and I can see the 'internet' with a red X on the connection line between that and the 'unidentified network.�When checking the 'Wireless Network Connection Status' it's showing �that it's connected, activity's showing 'sent and received bytes' but says 'no Internet access' to both IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity.I read lots of blogs and advice and tried many of those 'fixes' that were recommended, some of which were the following (shorter versions):�
- unplugging and replugging the power cable to the modem
- resetting the wireless router
-rolling back driver
- �obtaining IP address and DNS server address automatically for Internet Protocol V4 and V6

None of the above worked. Right now under 'status' it's showing:
IPv4 connectivity: no Internet access
PIv6 connectivity: no network access
�I've used this network for a while and this is the first time this problem has occurred.�Be it network driver issue or a patch of some sort i may need to download, until i can connect to the internet, I can't fix this problem on my own. In the meanwhile no other computer or phone with wifi in the house has any problem connecting to the Internet.�I took it to a computer technician who said I need to reinstall Windows 7.
I still couldn't get my wireless internet to begin working on my laptop. It goes between saying "Identifying... (NETGEAR) No internet access" and something like "Unidentified (something something) Limited Access." I've had this problem for about 2 weeks now and I just can't get it to work.I had the rundll32 virus and I believe something called "PING.exe" and I got rid of them with TDSSKiller, but after the reboot my internet wouldn't work and I got a prompt saying that PowerISO couldn't launch properly or something like that. I uninstalled PowerISO but the internet problem remains.
