I have a problem my HP Pavilion dv5-2035dx it can't seem to connect to any networks anymore. It was working fine two nights ago, and now it can't connect. It can locate the networks, but every time I try to connect to one it will give me a cannot connect to network. Troubleshooting does nothing as well.
just having troubles connecting too Internet i am currently using a BELKIN N wireless USB adaptor f5d8053 version 3 on my windows 7 computer and just wondering if some 1 could point me in the right direction .
I'm having a connection issue with my new computer running Windows 7 Professional x64. When I first set it up, the wireless connection worked flawlessly, and then the next day the internet cut out and has not connected since (currently 2 days). Note that I can still connect to the Network, it is just the internet connection that is the issue. Other computers and devices can still connect to the network and internet, and as a temp fix I am using a wired connection to the same router.
My router is a Dynalink RTA1025W Rev2 using WPA2-Personal security, and my computer has a 802.11n Wireless LAN Card.
Release / Renew the IPFlushing the DNSCreating a static IP addressUpdating the wireless driverUninstalling / re-installing the network card / driverResetting the modem/routerResetting the computerDisabling the firewallChanging the security type (tried WEP and none)System restoring the computerWiping the computer back to it's original state I've probably tried a couple more things that have now slipped to the back of my mind in the many hours of frustration which I have encountered. None of the above have worked, even temporarily.
I have also attempted to connect to a neighbor's unsecured wireless network, however I was also unsuccessful with that.
So yesterday my internet was working fine, but today when I returned and got it out of standby, I could not connect to the internet. It says "limited access" when I try to connect to the wireless, and when I try to connect with an ethernet cable nothing happens. If I troubleshoot, Windows is unable to resolve it. The problem it says is:There might be a problem with the driver for the Wireless Network Connection adapter. There might be a problem with the driver for the Local Area Connection Adapter.
i have pc with adsl and 3 printer newly i have bought a laptop i wanna openly share every thing in my pc like internet, hard drives, printer with my laptop. i can do it in network and sharing center but i have to do it several times in a day like my first time to make every thing sharing and get connect i need software to get connect automatically through my wireless network sharing and share every thing with my laptop
My windows 7 machine is unable to connect to my internet through the wireless bridge I've set up on my WRT54G using DD-WRT. It seems to be connected to the network as it sees the other computers that are on it but there is no internet access. Every once in awhile it gains access and then abruptly loses it in a matter of minutes. The router supplies internet to anything else I plug into it, be it my Xbox or laptop running XP.
My desktop (windows 7 ultimate 64bit) has been able to connect fine to the internet until I got home from work this morning. My laptop is connecting to the same modem fine through wireless (along with my wii). The modem I am using is Motorola SB 901. When I rightclick my connection on my desktop and hit troubleshoot problems, I get 'local area connection 2 doesn't have a valid ip configuration'. Same thing happens when I switch the ethernet cord to local area connection 1. When I go to control panel, network and internet, network and sharing, the connection map at the top stops between my pc and the network (which is now labeled as 'unidentified network'). Here is a list of what I have done so far to try and resolve the issue:
1. Replaced the ethernet cord with one I know is working
2. Full scanned my pc for viruses
3. Disabled all firewalls and virus protection programs
4. Restored my pc to a previous save state
5. Reset winsock with cmd via these prompts: netsh winsock reset catalog and netsh int ip reset reset.log hit
6. This attempt is unfinished as I am getting stuck. I am attempting to setup a static ip to attempt to resolve the issue, but when I open cmd and type ipconfig/all, the default gateway under my local area connection is completely blank. Here is what comes up with ipconfig/all:

I have a netgear wireless router upstairs. My dell laptop, my iMac (which is downstairs) and my iPad/iPhones all connect anywhere in the house. My Toshiba laptop and my work dell will not connect or it connects very intermittently. I can stay connected for days on other wifi networks, just not at home. Any ideas?
anyway, after charging it up and turning it on, i started to install programmes and other bits and bobs. e.g ituens, flash player. just the usual essentials. i used the laptop to watch videos on Internet, genenral browing such as facebook, so in short, the internet was working fine. just before i went to bed that night i installed avg security (free version) and ran a full scan. when the scan finished, i put the laptop into hibernate, and went to sleep! happy in the knowledge my new gizmo was running smoothly!
just before i woke up i heard the laptop turn off as it had run out of charge. so i plugged it in and charged it up, then turned it on. this is where the problem starts...i connected via wifi however the logo at the bottom right of the screen showed the signal strength meter on empty, with a yellow star covering it. i clicked the icon, and it said, 'not connected, connections are available' and below shows im connected with 5/5 signal strength, but on 'limited access'.
1) there might be a problem with the driver for the local area connection adapter
2)there might be a problem with the driver for the wireless network connection adapter
there are 28 updates, but im unable to update them as i have no internet connection. i also cant connect via the ethernet cable.i cant roll back the drivers as there are no previously installed ones, and i cant update them as i am already up to date.my other laptop (acer aspire 5630 running on vista) works perfectly fine using wifi and the ethernet cable, so i honestly dont know whats wrong. after reading things on my acer about ways to fix the problem i came to the decision to restore the laptop to the time of my first installation which was adobe flash player (which i installed the day before.) i was unable to do a full factory reset as the only options available are to either restore to a backup, or re-install windows (which requires a disc, which i dont have). i also didnt configure a backup as i had only had the laptop a day!
I have been having problems with my new computer running Win7 Ultimate and have had to do an upgrade install. Now IE8 and Incredimail are unable to connect to the internet although Norton, Windows, System Mechanic, etc.,can all download updates
I CAN connect to internet just fine using my wifi BUT I CAN NO LONGER connect to 198.192.1.1!!! Any idea how to solve this problem? I'm using a Dell Insprion 1545 and Win7 32-bit. I never had this issue before, jut popped up when I tried using ICS on a different laptop, an IBM thinkpad T42 also using Win7 and connected to the same network via wifi. Again I can connect to the internet just fine on all my laptops, but 192.168.1.1 (for my netgear router) returns "unable to connect" page!!! have verified (via ipconfig) that my gateway ip is 192.168.1.1. I have valid IPs on all the laptops, but cannot connect to router setup page.
I have a Dell Inspiron N5110, Intel core 3 processor, and Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit os. I have recently reinstalled windows 7 from the windows 8 os. I can't access my wireless internet, I can only get to the internet via hard wire. I have searched Dell and Intel for the network controller driver and the sm bus controller driver, but to no avail.
Am using dell inspiron laptop with windows 7 home premium 64 bit , i have a free wifi in our collage when i give connect it was getting connected but there is no internet access i had tried with trouble shoot it was giving problem regarding DNS
A few days ago the public wireless internet i used worked fine and i had no problems with my computer. Now when i try to connect to it, it isn't allowing me access. It works just fine on my sisters laptop that is the same model and brand as mine.
My notebook is an ASUS G53SX - A1 with an Atheros AR9002WB-1NG wireless card. I was able to connect with a cable.
When i try to connect wireless i can see the network and even it's strength but when i try to connect i get the message "windows was unable to connect to xxxxxx network". the driver are up to date and i can connect with other laptops to the same network.
I tried uninstalling my driver..but everytime i scan for new hardwares..it will detect and automatically the the previous driver will occur..i dont know why it happens..
its a netbook Acer ..and a Broadcom 802.11g adapter..
I have both x86 and x64 Seven installed. Wireless Card is Realtek 8185 b/g, router is belkin 802.11b
For x86, 7000-7048-7057 all connected to the 802.11b router with WEP 128bit without problem.
Since 7057, I installed x64 Seven and verified that the WEP key is correct. But, it just can't connect. "Unidentified network", Access type: No Internet access. ipconfig /all tells me that I didn't connect to the router at all. The router's dhcp didn't assign the x64 any ip.
If I boot up the x86, I then can go to Internet without problem.
I tried the troubleshoot. The program reset my wireless network card then let me retype my wep key. At the end, it was unable to fix the issues and it lists the problems as below:
Windows cannot connect to "....." Detected
"Wireless Network Connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration Detected
Now, if I manually set a valid IP "192.168.2.3" and mask "255.255.255.0" and gateway "192.168.2.1", I still can't connect to the router. But, from the router side, the dhcp list shows my x64 ip address.
Also, even if I reset the router to Open (without WEP), x64 still can't connect to the router. None of above can make me ping the router. So wired.
Please help me. I do like x64 over x86, because in there the office 2007 and SAS 9.2 won't freeze/without response. And, I don't have the lan access to the router.
I cannot use wireless access, getting msg. wireless lan adapter has been disabled in device manager, checked device manager there is a Network adapter, (Realtek PCIE FE Family Controller) and then there is Other Devices under there is the network controller(yellow !). Downloaded controller drivers from HP,( sp53955) and for some reasons the drivers are not installing. Also when I try to set up a wireless connection all i can get is broadband and cable. I am quite sure this is because there is a problem with the wireless adapter.I continued my search and discovered that this notebook uses the Atheros ar9285 wireless adapter, I disabled the unknown network controller and enabled the Realtek since this one appeared to be the one that was installed by HP.
I got a brand new HP with Windows 7 and it will not connect to my network. It sees it and I have another laptop connected to it as well as a desktop hardwired to it. Like I said, this thing is brand new.
as of today i am not able to connect to my home network it used to work perfectly before but now when i try to connect it says unidentified network no internet accesit does work on all the other laptops herei also can conect to my neighbours wireless internet fine and when i plug the cabel in its also workingany ideas on how to fix this (not so good with computers so try to be gentel) ?
Im having serious problems connecting Win7 Home premium 32bit to my WLAN. This connection previously worked fine under XP.Win 7 Fully patched Windows home Group services disabled.WPA-Personal b/g channel 11 enabled on router.WN is broadcasting and WIN 7 sees the network.Router F/W is patched but its an old router however my work laptop (same make and model will connect)Wlcan card driver updated to latest version.Ive created a profile manually which fails to connect.Connecting via the Wireless icon fails..I am able to connect if i set router as unsecured..Rebooted router (which has now killed my already poor sync speed)
I'm running 7 Ultimate & have no problems at home but when I go out to my local diner I have no internet access. I have a great connection to their router but cannot connect to the internet. Once in a while, like maybe 1 out of 20x it will connect. I see folks on a weekly basis using the internet with no problems.
I am using an Atheros AR9285 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter. The adapter can detect the available SSID wireless connections in my area but not able to connect to them.
I can see the wireless connection on the laptop but it wont connect.this networks no needed user name and pass to connect.my laptop is vostro 1015 os: windows 7 ultimate.
I have an Acer TravelMate 5740G (all other system specs are fine so i'm only posting the networking relevant stuff) and it does not connect to wireless networks - Acer Nplify 802.11bgn from a broadcom 802.11n wireless adapter apparently has the best driver (as advised by MS device manager)this pc has been able to connect to a grand total of 2 wireless networks?
1. at uni it connected on its own for 15 minutes, any time i've attempted to manually connect it says "could not connect to [network name]"
2. connected just fine to a 3g iphone 4 acting as a portable hotspot at home, my wireless settings are as follows:Open WEP PSK w/ 1 key index everybody else in my family can connect to this wireless network i can connect with my phone, my dad with his lappy, my friends with their lappies. there are NO xp computers in the network there are 3 Windows 7 desktops on the network the internet works just fine with the rj45 cable ---> i'm 100% sure the issue is not with my home network config OR the router at uni, the router + settings are not the issue because they service 15,000 people a day without issue ---> i'm 100% sure the issue is not with other network configs OR their routers i have tried every change under the sun (that i know of) with my laptop's own configs.i've attempted to update all the WNIC drivers, i've made the WNIC as open to connections as i possibly can.i have disabled ip6 and tried, i have enabled ip6 and tried, and i get no connections happening. i'm at the end of my wits, i just want my wireless to work, and i have NFI how to make it happen.
I've got a handful of Dell laptops that recently stopped reconnecting to a wireless network after being on the lan. WLAN shows connected, but can't reconnect until we do a IP refresh. Some machines are running Dell WLAN cards and another is running Intel card. Can't seem to nail down the problem. One user mentioned she was having this problem after MS updates so wondering if a patch/hot fix is jacking up these machines. To add salt to the wound, I brought my Dell Inpiron 1420 home today...plugged in the network cable..did some work, then decided to move to the couch.
I have a laptop (HP Compaq cq62) with Windows 7 64 bit and I have a strange problem with my wireless adapter. When I close the lid the laptop goes into sleep mode. When I open the lid and log in on my laptop, the wireless adapter can not find any routers. I have to go to my network settings window, disable my wireless adapter, enable the wireless adapter and then it is working.
