Intel LAN Adapter Loses Connection After Waking Up Windows 7?
Mar 4, 2011
I keep losing LAN connection within 1 minute after my computer wakes from sleep modeI cannot ping the router, the DSL modem and anything outside.Windows "repair connection" tool fixes the problem until the next time I put computer to sleep.have Windows 7 32 bit, integrated Intel LAN card. Can't blame McAfee because when I uninstalled it and replaced with Microsoft Essentials this behavior didn't change

Fujitsu M1450G is losing its internet connection after a few minutes of internet browsing, the wireless connection says it is still connected, but internet doesnt work. I also do a repair on the connection but it doesn't solve the problem. I have to restart the laptop each time to have internet again, and it will only last a few minutes usually. What can the problem be and how can I solve it?PS Laptop location doesn't seem to be the issue, tried it just a metre away from the router and it has the same problem. Other laptops in the house have no problem at all.

I started getting a "DNS not responding"? on my desktop. All my wireless devices work fine, and when I turn off my laptop's WiFi card and plug it into the same router it works as well.I've done some Googleing on the issue and none of what I found has helped. When I do an ipconfig on each maching, the thing I notice is that on the working laptop I have an entry for the "Connection specific DNS suffix under the "Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection", where on the desktop that's not working the suffix is blank.

Tried all the on-line advice e.g setting power scheme to max power; unticking box in adaptor settings 'Allow computer to turn off this device'.Tried to update drivers for wifi adaptor but the update process says I have the latest drivers. However Dell's driver site analysed my laptop and says there is a later driver for download. Tried installing this but was stopped by message saying it wasn't authenticated/certified so terminated.

Quote: When will Intel drivers be available to support the Windows 7* operating system (OS) that Microsoft will be releasing to manufacturing on October 22, 2009?
Updated and signed drivers for many of the wireless products will be available to download for the Windows 7 operating system October 22, 2009. Automatically detect wireless adapter and download drivers. That said;
Intel has discontinued support for the Intel ProSet/Wireless 2200BG Network Adapter. There might be some generic drivers capable of Windows 7 out there, but I can't find them on the Intel site.
I did find Vista drivers here.
Update: These drivers worked and this old lappy is now on-line!

Ok. so I'm trying to install this Intel 802.11bg driver on my Tosh lappy. (I am installing it from a USB Flash drive, since the machine has no network connections.)
I install in XP2 compatability mode, and the report is that the installation is correct. But on restart, "Windows could not find a driver for your network adapter".
Is there a workaround?

I'm out of ideas. Tried several different drivers, and settings. Using a fresh install of Windows 7 RC. The drivers all seem to "work", by which I mean Windows 7 has no problem with them, but no driver I've tried will let the card actually talk with anything. It keeps trying to find a DHCP address and always comes up with a 169 address. Even when I specify a static IP it still won't see anything on the network.
DHCP is working for my on board NIC, and this card works in my XP installation on this same PC.
The driver that seems to "work" the best so far is this: Download HP Intel PRO/1000 Gigabit Driver 13.5.00 Rev.C for Vista64 Driver for Windows Vista64 - Softpedia
With that driver I actually get all of the nifty features in the driver properties page, and I've run all of it's diagnostic tests which all come up green.
Also worth nothing: I had this same problem with Windows 7 Beta.

I have an Asus U56E which has an Intel Centrino 6150 Wireless N + Wimax network adapter on it. This card ran fine the first few months I had it. Then I installed Ubuntu 12.04 with my windows install and ran it dual boot. The card worked fine on Windows but I had to make some configuration changes on Ubuntu for it to run. I did that and it worked fine still. Then, naively, I installed a registry cleaner (wise registry cleaner to be exact), and some time after installing it and running it regularly (usually 2-3 times a week) something went wrong and I started getting this issue with my card. What happens is the wireless will be functioning for some time, perfectly normal, and then it will just lose internet connection. I will have to disable and re-enable the adapter through device manager to get it to work but that only works sometimes, most of the time the device just won't start again and I will get the device can not start error in device manager. Also, when this happens I usually restart my computer and sometimes when I do that (or even when I just turn my laptop on or come back from putting it to sleep) the adapter is not recognized at all, doesn't even show up in device manager. What's most odd about that is that the Wimax still shows up on the list of network adapters but the wireless doesn't show up.The steps I have taken to try and remedy this issue are, re-install the drivers (by uninstalling them first) from both the asus and intel websites, do a fresh install of Windows (didn't fix the problem but made it occur a little less) and open my laptop casing and unplug and replug the network adapter.I'm not sure what to do from here, I'm assuming its the card itself at this point that is messed up and my speculations with the registry cleaner causing the issue were just a time coincidence. However, I want to be certain that is the case instead of going out and spending time and money getting a new network adapter when the problem lies elsewhere.

I have a Verizon router and I purchased a NetGear N900 wireless dual band usb adapter for my son's computer. I was going to test the N900. It is for college. The N900 will not connect. I do have three other laptops that do connect and work ok. The N900 has WPS but the Verizon router does not.So I have to use the SSID, 'wep' option, and the wep key. The N900 tries to connect and stops trying after about 20 seconds or so. The N900 varies from 4 to 5 green bars. N900 installation was followed and went smoothly and the new software version was used. We are using Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit on my son's computer.I also purchased the Western Digital My Net N750 router for college. I have no way to test everything at home. It does have WPS so at the college I hope everything works.

My laptop cannot currently connect properly to the internet. After trouble shooting, the diagnosis is that "There might be a problem with the driver for the Wireless Network Connection adapter". My laptop also wouldn't connect to the internet via cable. I'm not sure what the problem is as my laptop was working fine last night.
I have Windows 7 Home Premium (32 bit) installed on my Sony Vaio VPCEB36FG.

On Friday, everything was working as normal on my computer, I was sharing, and the ps3/xbox were on the network and able to play all files. As of saturday afternoon, the networking part suddenly stopped, and I could no longer find my computer on any other device on the network, but I did still have internet capabilities. I didn't think too much into it at the time and figured it was some workgroup error. Saturday night I try to rebuild the workgroup in hopes to fix the problem and also uninstall a scanner that wasn't working. I went to the add/remove programs list, and uninstalled the HP scanner/printer software, and then BOOM, no more internet at all. The other computers and consoles all still have internet, so it has to be something on the computer.

"Problem with the driver for Wireless Adapter".I have an HP-Pavilion 2009f with Windows 7 home premium 64-bit. All has been fine with my internet connection, except for a few drops here and there, but all in all it has been tolerable. When I went to bed last night it worked, when I woke up, it didn't. When I troubleshoot I get the message, "There might be a problem with the driver for the Wireless Network Connection Adapter", to which Windows cannot fix. I get this same error message, respectively, for both wired and wireless connections. After troubleshooting without success, I decided to try and do system update.I am only connected with "Limited Access".What's even weirder is when I open a cmd window and enter ipconfig /all.

As you can see today when I got on my laptop I wasn't able to connect to the Internet and after attempting to troubleshoot I got this error message along with one saying a network cable is not properly plugged in or is broken. We recently switched Internet service providers and the Internet has been running fine. The only proble I had was sometimes it would randomly drop in speed but I don't think that has anything to do with the issue. Last night it was working perfectly, but then it went slow so I unplugged our router and then disabled the wireless network then reeanbled it. Anyways I've been using this network for a few months now without issues but I think the issue lies within my computer. I checked for windows updates and installed them but no luck. Then I checked for driver updates for my adapters but they were up to date. I don't have any screenshots and I'm on a tablet. Also please use the simplest terms possible because while I have a basic understanding of these things, I'm no expert and I don't want to miss anything

I am using the Belkin FD7050 v3 USB adapter. I was having all kinds of problems getting 7 to recognize it and find a network.
I got it work by installing Vista x64, running all windows updates and installing the adapter, then doing an in-place upgrade.
Everything was working great, no wireless problems at all. Then I unplugged the adapter and plugged it back in to a different USB port. Win 7 recognized the adapter right away and installed drivers, but it can't see any networks. Very similar to the first time I installed 7 before upgrading from Vista.
I have since tried uninstalling/re-installing. Letting Win 7 find drivers, manually installing the FD7050 v3 drivers from Belkin. Tried installing the Belkin drivers in XP compatibility mode and Vista Compatibility mode. Nothing works.
I'm trying to not have to completely reinstall Vista x64 and then upgrade to 7 x64 again. Any ideas?

I'm running Windows 7 using a DSL line connected via ethernet. I've lost my internet connection, and Windows 7 Diagnostics reports that there might be a problem with the Local Area Connection Adapter driver. Unfortunately, it doesn't say what the problem might be or what to do about it. AT&T has verified that the problem isn't with the DSL line or the modem, and for good measure I bought a new ethernet cable. To make a long story short, I waited too long before considering a System Restore and no longer have restore points available from before this problem started, which was eight days ago. I've visited the Device Manager and the ethernet adapter is enabled and working properly.

Ever since I built this PC (about 1 month ago now) I haven't been able to put him to sleep. I can set the "time until sleep" for 1 minute and sit next to him watching and waiting, and that works, but anything more than 5 minutes and he just won't sleep.
I did some digging and figured out how to use the Event Viewer and Command Prompt "Lastwake" command to find what's waking him up. It's my Intel 82579V Gigabit Network Connection. I imagine that means that he's getting signals from the internet while trying to sleep. I have Steam and MSN isntalled, but even when I log out of those and close them, the computer still won't sleep.
Now that I've figured out the source of the wake though I'm not sure what's the next step. I'd rather not have to unplug my internet every single time I want the computer to sleep. Aside for simple inconvenience I believe that would put some serious strain on the port over the long term (my last PC's LAN port was one of the first things to fail). So is there a setting that I can change so that the computer ignores the Network Connection's wake signals?

Today when I started up my computer it blue screened about three times at the log in screen. After the third or so time I booted my computer with the last known good configuration. At first it seemed to work; everything seemed to boot as ormal. However, I noticed that I could not connect to the internet. I went into the Device Manger and noticed a problem with my Intel(R) 82579V Gigabit Network Connection. Under device status it states "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)" I have updated and reinstalled the drivers twice now to no avail. I do not know what the problem is.

I installed a new wireless adapter yesterday in the hope of increasing my internet speed. After installing the driver for the adapter I realised that my internet was no longer working. I can still see the connection but it is limited and doesnt allow me to connect to the internet. I also had a system up date the night before and hadn't been on the internet since that happened so am unsure if this has any part in it.I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for both the adapters i have to no avail, as well as plugging my pc into a laptop and using internet connection sharing which also doesnt work.If i run a network repair i end up with two problems found:
1)There might be a problem with the driver for the local area connection adapter
2)There might be a problem with the driver for the wireless network connection adapter They both have yellow signs with exclamation marks next to them.If i type ipconfig/all into the cmd line I get:
Windows IP Configuration

Shouldn't my wireless adapters appear here?
