Installing Font - No Choice In Dropdown
Oct 24, 2010When I have tried to install a font there is no "Install" in the drop down. I open the Zip file, then try to install. Not there like it was with Vista.

Oct 5, 2011I suddenly started seeing this ugly font (see images below) on many webpages.I think this issue began right around the time I installed some other fonts, but I am not sure. Initially, I figured it was a Chrome thing but have since confirmed the issue extends to IE and Firefox, leading me to believe this is a Windows issue. By the time I tried to revert the changes via System Restore, it was too late (restore only went back a few days; maybe I need to adjust settings there?).I tried to reset the default font but Windows does not seem to respond to that. When I click "Restore to default font settings" the button greys out but nothing else happens. No dialog box and no change in the issue.

Usually Ive got a message saying something along the lines of "this is a OS font" or "in use".Question:I noticed that my default calculator font is missing and was curious if anyone knows what font the calculator uses. I got a substituted font from the deleted one, but it looks terrible.If nobody knows the above.I went into a font deletion frenzy because I had some non-OS fonts that made my font list bulky and it took a while to scroll to the more used fonts.So I deleted some to combat this. Photoshop loads a lot faster as well due to less fonts(my little takeaway tip from all this)

Well right above that is "delete" and I'm frequently getting the two mixed when clicking, though I don't usually actually delete cause I catch that first. Is there a way to seperate those and reorder the drop down list so they are farther apart. It gets to be a nuisance sometimes when I am rename picture files.

Apr 26, 2012I have my windows 7 set up so that when I click on Start and then Control Panel a drop-down menu appears with my choices. I have a relatively fast computer. Intel Core i5 760 with 12G if RAM. To many this is indeed fast.
When I click on Start--> Ctrl Panel it will take about 3 seconds to open if I just hover my mouse over it and about 2 seconds if I click on it. Meanwhile my previous XP old PC did so instantaneously. So how could I get the drop down to go faster? (BTW all other drop down menus are quick to open.)

Jul 22, 2009I have a problem with running Windows 7 (RC, 7100 i think) and XP on the same machine:
I previously had 2 XP installations - one on the C drive for general useage and one on another drive for audio recording (both are SATA) My C drive XP has been slow and rubbish for a while and so I thought I would reinstall windows on that drive, which I've done before a few times. Then I thought I'd like to try Windows 7 so I installed that. During the installation I formatted the C drive (looking back on it maybe not so clever - there was no data I needed on there but maybe I deleted important files?) and installed 7 on there.
Now, my problem is that I can boot into windows 7 fine, but I am having real difficulty in getting XP to work, due to various things. I have used easyBCD to try and sort out my OS choice at startup, as per some walkthroughs on this forum. When I reboot I have a strange problem where I cant see the screen where I choose the OS, but I know its there because the computer waits for a bit, unless I press enter (to choose windows 7) or down and enter (to choose XP) - so its there but not being displayed on screen.
That's not such a problem, but when I choose XP from the OS select (or what I assume is XP given that I can't see it) the computer just restarts right from the beginning. There was no ntldr in the D drive (where the XP installation is) so i copied it from the XP installation disk.
Also, when I used to be able to get into the 'Studio' XP installation, it thought the D: drive was the I: drive, if you see what I mean..

OS Choice Screen Doesn't Appear On Boot
Jan 5, 2013I have Windows 7 installed alongside Ubuntu 12.04 on my desktop. Recently I've got a problem, when I boot the computer the Motherboard graphic appears and goes black, the OS choice screen doesn't appear. As I know from previous experiences the first choice is windows 7 and the second choice is Ubuntu I use arrow keys to select the OS with the screen still black, the screen appears only when the Log On screen appears (in both OS).
