It takes long time to scroll down, but using scroll bars, it is very good. Is that graphics related? Does it have to redraw differently when you use the scroll bar vs the scroll wheel/auto scroll?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a new HP Pavillion Slimline Model s5-1224 running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on SP1 with Intel Pentium 2.8 Ghz processor, 6 GB Ram and and a 900 GB (800 GB free) HD. I have an external graphics card (Triton TRI-UV150) connected via USB to accomodate Dual HP 2010 Wide LCD monitors.
When the graphics card is connected to the CPU, it takes upwards of 1-2 minutes to load the homepage (Google). Without the graphics card connection, home page load is almost instantaneous.
I have uninstalled/re-installed the graphics card driver with the help of the manufacturers' tech support and the issue is still not resolved. Manufacturer states that "the driver cannot cause slow page loads" but it only happens when the card is connected to the CPU.
I have this horrible Compaq laptop. It is a Presario CQ62. I want to smash it.The OS is Windows 7, a major problem in itself which requires other remedies. The issue that randomly started happening one day, and won't stop, is that the left and right arrow keys, home and end, page up/down, and delete don't work. They do work, however, if I disable the wireless network adapter. This is extremely annoying, and cripples the way I use the computer, becuase I use those keys a lot to navigate applications instead of clicking everywhere like a serf.I did try uninstalling both the keyboard and network adapter in control panel, then rebooting so Windows would find them and reinstall the drivers. I thought maybe they would go on another IRQ or some crap.

Recently I opened the folder and the look has changed. On the general tab I no longer see "home page", "temporary internet files", etc. I only see, browsing history and appearance options. I wanted to change my home change in the address box, but it doesn't appear. How can I change it back to the way it use to look? View 6 Replies View RelatedThe time on my win 7 x64 ultimate is incorrect. I am in the uk so am on London time. We have recently entered Daylight Saving Time. So the clock should have gone back one hour but it appears to have gone back two! A week ago the time of day now would have been 00:20, the time now should be 23:20 and the time my clock is showing is 22:20. I have looked in control panel > Clock Language Region - and my time zone is set correctly to UTC Dublin Edinburgh Lisbon London as it should be. I try unticking adjust for daylight saving time and click apply but this doesn't even change the time( not even by one hour as it should) it seems to not matter whether it is ticked or unticked, my clock remains an hour behind what the current time actually should be.

Where it's supposed to say Miss Ghoul (STEPHANIE-PCMiss Ghoul), it actually says... Miss Ghoul (STEPHANIE-PC"). There are " where Miss Ghoul should be. I tried for ages to find out how to change this, but because she's running Windows 7 Home Premium, I have no Group Policy editor (if it even helps to have it). View 3 Replies View RelatedThe OS on one of my W7 machines doesn't want to keep the correct time and I can't figure out why. The first thing I did was check the BIOS and it keeps the right time. I've gone into date and time and confirmed that the time zone is correct (MST) and even manually set the time several times but it always changes to an incorrect time. I've changed the time sync server to different servers and it has the correct time at first, but inevitably changes within a few minutes to a wrong time. The only thing I can find on google suggest it's the CMOS battery, but it's a new motherboard and the BIOS keeps the correct time, as I've said above. Below is my system specs.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy PC rebooted itself this morning. I wasn't using it at the time so I don't know what triggered it. The event log shows no error and there was no software update responsible as far as I can determine. To make things more complicated the time/date on the system clock was August 2009. All of installed software was reporting itself as "new" looking for configuration "on first use". Once I spotted this and updated the time everything went back to normal. In all my years on PC's I have never seen this.
