I'm about to install Windows 8 preview in a virtual environment (VM ware player). Am I correct if I suppose that no traces are being left within Window 7 if I do so and if I uninstall Windows 8 from within VM ware player at a later time? Is there anything special to be considered?
View 6 RepliesAfter installing Windows 7, everything was fine. I did not realise though, that Media Player 12 was already installed, so when I saw a link to download it, I did and tried to install it. After rebooting, the obviously already installed Media Player 12 files became corrupted and now, everytime I try to run it it will not work. I am directed to download it, and the link goes to the old Media Player for Windows NT - which will not install, as my PC tells me the Media Player 12 is already installed...So how can I uninstall anything Media Player and start fresh? I see no uninstall .exe for it anywhere.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi am trying to install nt 4.0 in vmware player with windows 7 home 64 bit system as host. while installing i receive a message during the nt setup that states, "setup has determined thay your computers startup hard disk is new, or have been erased, or that an operating system is installed on your computer with which windows nt cannot coexist".it goes on to state that "continuing may damage or destroy the existing operating system." it continues "if your hard drive is new or has been erased or you want to discard its current content press enter to continue setup."is this a normal message? i saw a Internet video showing the install of nt 4.0 and did not see the author getting this message. my concern is damaging my host os(windows 7) by continuing with the installation.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using vmware player for just a few weeks and have had no problem with network connection up until last week when I did some changes (Windows e-activation and removals using 'Hijack This'. I have obviously deleted lots of stuff I am not suppose to delete as I have had nothing but pc problems ever since. My host machine is Windows XP SP3 Guest OS is Scientific Linux When I go to verify which processes are running it only shows vmnat.exe running but not vmnetdhcp.exe so I try to see if I can install vmnetdhcp.exe but get the pop-up window message "DllRegisterServer entry point was not found".

I'm thinking maybe since I didn't set up a password with the installation of my guest Win 7 VM..hmm.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded my machine to an AMD Sempron II X3 720 Black Edition. I've enabled virtualization in the bios. I've gone and downloaded the following two files from Microsoft's Virtual PC web page:
Windows6.1-KB958559-x64.msu - the Virtual PC installation
WindowsXPMode_en-us.exe - the virtual PC XP Mode file
I've installed both files but nowhere in my menu do I have a Windows Virtual PC folder to launch into Windows XP mode.
When I go to the C:Program FilesWindows XP Mode directory, all I see is this:
A folder called Tutorial
KEY.TXT
VXPEULA.txt
Windows XP Mode base.vhd
But nowhere do I have an icon in my start menu Virtual Windows XP shortcut.
i have window 7 and install printer hp laserjet p1007 on same pc which is on lan network. The said printer was working properly till date but from today it does not print any document.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI do a great deal of video editing and special effects on my Windows 7 (home premium, 64bit) laptop. Many of the stock footage clips I use are .mov files and a lot of the sound files I use are .wav and .mp3. Unfortunately, these files do not preview (They don't play) in the preview pane in Windows Explorer. .mp4 videos do preview, but I have not tested anything else. All of the above mention files play just fine in the standalone WMP. Do I need to download extra codecs to make them work in the preview pane?

But although it SAYS that it has installed correctly, TWAIN does not fire up and I am unable to use the scanner. It also makes a weird noise through the computer's loud speaker going "dee-dum" every 2 seconds.(Fwiw, the sound is like two low-ish frequency guitar strings being plucked, about 1 octave apart).Also in the Control Panel unders System the scanner dialogue is disappearing and refreshing every 2 seconds as well.It sounds to me like something is rejecting the driver, but not showing any error message to screen.- Is there any way to (permanently) "give permission" to the driver to run?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI seem to not be able to install new programs to my computer anymore. dditionally, programs can not update themselves--the programs that auto-update have stopped working (they just "hang up" during the install or update process).
- Programs that don't try to update seem to work fine. I can use them, save new files, and do everything else as normal. The problem is restricted to programs that are trying to update, or programs I'm trying to install.
- Restarting the computer or trying to re-install the programs has not solved the issue.
- I am able to work around the issue for one of the programs (Screenpresso) by manually downloading the updated edition and installing it in safe mode. This tactic does not work on my other programs with "update issues" though (FocusMe, Market Samurai, & SpinnerChief)
- Disabling all my background monitoring programs in normal startup mode (Adaware, ZoneAlarm, AVG) has not helped
- The problem has been occuring for about a month and I've been tolerating it because the programs with issues were not needed then. Now they are--and I need to figure out what the issue is!
I'm using Windows 7 32 bit.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled (admin) the latest driver several times. I dont have any USB 3 devices yet and have nothing plugged into a USB 3. I am starting to think my last option is to disable all USB 3 on my computer but when I get a USB 3 I will be screwed.

Today, I tried to install my Nero 7 Ultra Edition Enhanced (retail disc). It went so far and threw up an error. Tried reinstalling to no avail. Now it won't even let me uninstall it (it starts to uninstall then throws an error). It appears to have all the folders on my C drive now but it does not start. Whenever I try it says a network resource is unavailable and asks me to point to the install package, but still never works. I've been trying to fix this for months now, I've asked around before and I've tried every relevant fix I could find on the internet. So as one last shot, any ideas? Since then, we have found that we can't open any non-Windows inherit programs. Windows did an update, but it didn't help.We can open documents, pictures, notepad, calculator - all the things that would have come with Windows 7, but if it is a program that we have installed, like Chrome, AVG free or AdAware, we can't open it. I double-click and nothing happens.Likewise, when I try to uninstall programs. I tried fixing the issue by removing Azureus, but I get the message that it doesn't look like it can be uninstalled and asks if I want it removed from the programs list.I have successfully gotten ZIP folders to open and use REG files (which is how I got ZIP folders to work), but that's it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAt that time i had net framework 4.0, the program i required to install was nessesary for my school and i spent a lot of effort installing net framework 1.1, which was not an easy task. it wasn't possible installing it a normal way, and i ended up going in Comand Prompt as administrator and fixing 2 installations at the same time or something like that. Can not recall it very well.The net framework 1.1 required updating and at the start of my computer booting it would generally ask me Accept of Decline the update possibility. This request has disappeared. I noticed when i would accept the update it infact wouldnt update anything and would not let me install anything cause it was apparently bizzy with updating.
This issue has now worsen over time, it does not ask me if i accept the update at allNow i cannot install or uninstall any programs, i have tried too install Java, and ableton. both failed, when i want too install something it says i do not have enough disk space. The same thing happens when i want too uninstall a program it says make sure u have enough disk space. i have 193 GB out of the 284 GB, i think i would have enough space for Java
