Feb 27, 2012
my system cannot connect bsnl lan connection. i had software error in my system so i formatted os after thaaaat i trie to install modem cd but it cannot installed.i also tries 198.168.1.1 techinque but it hang out.how to connect it?. i am using window 7.
just last night after i was finished playing skyrim for the night, i saw on steam that i had no connection. so i looked towards the internet bars icon next to the clock and saw a yello triangle with a "!" in it. so i disconnected and reconnected but still the yellow "!". so i just decided i would try again tomorrow (today).when i woke up today it didn't have that error, so i decided to go to Internet on chrome, but it had that "webpage not available" (wouldn't work for ie either). i figured it would soon fix itself like it always had, so i tried playing mw3 on my xbox, but it wouldn't connect to live either o.o and when my mom wanted to watch netflix on the living room xbox, she couldn't connect either! then i figured out it was definatly my modem that was refusing to connect to anything.
I bought a computer with a Windows 7 OS and can't connect with my ISP. Windows 7 diagnostic says I need a user name and password from my ISP to establish a connection. My ISP offers no user name or password under it DHCP service. How do I get online??
I have recently moved to Sky Broadband and I am experiencing difficulties regarding my wireless connection.
The device in question is a Sony Vaio FW56E (Windows 7, home premium , 64 bit). I initially contacted Sky regarding the connection but as all my other wireless devices (Blu Ray, Ipod, Vista notebook) connect without any issues they could not help.Sky have confirmed that it is not a fault with the Router and that it must be a software/hardware issue with my Vaio.
My Vaio is connecting to the Sky network but I cannot actually access the internet. I have checked all the settings and checked my wireless password. I have also looked into my firewall settings and tried to connect with windows firewall disabled.
Listed below are all the steps I have taken to try and resolve this issue.
Reset the Rouer Removed the Sky network and reconnected again. Checked that the wireless is actually enabled. Changed the wireless channel several times. Updated the VAIO via windows update using the Ethernet. Reset the router.
If it is of any use the Rouer Sky provided is a Sagecom F@ST2504n.

Up until around two days ago, i have been using 3G broadband on my Windows 7 machines. This has worked as it says on the tin, until the software supplied with the devices did not want to connect anymore. Having tried all the tricks, like reinstalling drivers, using safe mode to do same, checking all my software is up-to-date etc. i still cannot get the devices to install correctly, as the "Modem" part (e.g. "ZTE Proprietary USB modem" on my ZTE MF626) fails to load it's drivers WITH ANY DEVICE WHICH USES A DIALUP-STYLE CONNECTION. The exact error I found in Device Manager is: "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)"This happens if i plug in a USB dongle, or use bluetooth to link to my cell phone. Does anyone know how to force the drivers to load, and/or make this problem go away? I suspect there has been an update recently which has broken this.
Since yesterday I can't connect to the modem with my desktop pc(windows 7 x64). I get APIPA as IP adress(169.254.*.*). Tho I could go on internet with my notebook with the cable I use for desktop PC.
this is how my connection looks like. I got only modem & switch between my connection to the internet. note: I have no fileserver.
I've checked the following things with my other PC(=notebook windows 7 x86): modem, switch, cable and my network card and everything did work fine. note: I did use the same cable as I was using for the desktop PC to be sure that the cableline was fine. I made the next tests with my desktop PC.
Then done the next ones without success:system restore(1 week)winsock fixreinstalling the networkcardgiving static IP adress
My network card settings are the same for the both PC, set to automatically obtain IP address and DNS server addresses
ipconfig /all of my desktop pc.(not working) Code: Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601] Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

I had an existing pc with windows xp home. I just purchased a new pc with windows 7 home. Why I connected the windows 7 pc to the internet using dlink router I was able to access the internet. On the next day though, when I tried to connect again, I was not able to access the internet. Here are the tasks that I have already carried out to check the connectivity.
1. The windows 7 computer has a valid IP address, which means that ARP is working fine and my router is dispensing the addresses correctly.
2. When I try to ping the modem-router, there is no reply. So I am not able to access router using ICMP.
3. My old windows xp pc is able to connect and browse the internet. The problem is only with my new windows 7 pc.
I'm having problems with my computer the OS is windows 7, Home Premium. It will not connect wirlessly to the modem. When i try to connect i get the error message "No connection available". When i first got the computer it worked fine but just suddenly stopped working for no apparent reason. My computer is still as it is at the start i have not installed any new programs. My computer is a Advent Roma 2000.
New computer - Dell Inspiron 15R laptop. Windows-7 home premium 64-bit. Trying to access internet. 7 gives connection option of Broadband where ISP requires ID and Password. However, my ISP does not require this info to log on....its just "plug-n-play" I have run every test and diagnostic that I can find and the only prob I can find is something to do with the DNS, but have no way to fix the problem. The connection is Cable Modem, via LAN wire. One of the diagnostics recognizes my ISP, but still won't let me connect.
I have Windows 7 64 bit. I bought a Netgear DGN2000 approximately two years ago. It is working well. Currently, there is good connectivity between my laptop and the modem/router (wired and wireless).
I worked on my desktop this morning, uninstalled some programmes, but must have uninstalled a driver or something. I inserted the Resource CD, which installs the modem (although it is installed). Then it stalls at some point. If I troubleshoot, it states Windows do not detect a properly installed network adaptor.
I have a desktop computer connected to a wireless modem through an ethernet cable. My laptop is connected to the modem using wifi. Is there any way to connect the two computersThis my network map:
how to connect 2 compute .1 is laptop and the other is desktop using bsnl broad band modem type 1 which have 4 port plus 1 usb port . so that both the computer has networking and internet connection.
I use wired connection (LAN) for connecting. All lights, including Power,LAN, DSL, and internet glow on the router. The small Network Access icon on the task bar shows that the computer has internet access. But I will still not be able to connect.
My sons set me up with my old pc an new pc sharing my hdtv as a monitor. Wires came loose wile I was trying to re-arrange and now only one pc is seen when I choose inputs. is there a good link that shows the wiring diagram for modem, router, pc, tv, dvr...?
My step dad has recently brought himself a new PC with windows 7 on it. So he now has 2 external drives he wants to use but when I plug them in they dont show up. What have I got to do to make them show up?
My desktop (windows 7 ultimate 64bit) has been able to connect fine to the internet until I got home from work this morning. My laptop is connecting to the same modem fine through wireless (along with my wii). The modem I am using is Motorola SB 901. When I rightclick my connection on my desktop and hit troubleshoot problems, I get 'local area connection 2 doesn't have a valid ip configuration'. Same thing happens when I switch the ethernet cord to local area connection 1. When I go to control panel, network and internet, network and sharing, the connection map at the top stops between my pc and the network (which is now labeled as 'unidentified network'). Here is a list of what I have done so far to try and resolve the issue:
1. Replaced the ethernet cord with one I know is working
2. Full scanned my pc for viruses
3. Disabled all firewalls and virus protection programs
4. Restored my pc to a previous save state
5. Reset winsock with cmd via these prompts: netsh winsock reset catalog and netsh int ip reset reset.log hit
6. This attempt is unfinished as I am getting stuck. I am attempting to setup a static ip to attempt to resolve the issue, but when I open cmd and type ipconfig/all, the default gateway under my local area connection is completely blank. Here is what comes up with ipconfig/all:
C:UsersPaul>ipconfig/all Windows IP Configuration Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : Paul-PC Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . : Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Hybrid
I recently upgraded my machine to an AMD Sempron II X3 720 Black Edition. I've enabled virtualization in the bios. I've gone and downloaded the following two files from Microsoft's Virtual PC web page:
Windows6.1-KB958559-x64.msu - the Virtual PC installation WindowsXPMode_en-us.exe - the virtual PC XP Mode file
I've installed both files but nowhere in my menu do I have a Windows Virtual PC folder to launch into Windows XP mode.
When I go to the C:Program FilesWindows XP Mode directory, all I see is this:
A folder called Tutorial KEY.TXT VXPEULA.txt Windows XP Mode base.vhd
But nowhere do I have an icon in my start menu Virtual Windows XP shortcut.
I have bought an Acer Aspire One a751h with an integrated 3G modem. I received it with a fresh install of Windows 7 and I cannot get the integrated 3G modem to work. I click on the Acer internet manager and it says the modem is not found. The 3g switches on fine and it's lit up so all ready to use but it cannot find the modem. What I need to install and add instructions on what I need to do because I've downloaded several drivers to try and none have worked, although I must admit I'm not sure what to do once they are extracted from a zip file?
The info on the side of the box is as follows:- A0751h - 52BGk MODEL NO: ZA3 CPU: Intel Atom Processor Z520 RAM: 1GB DDR2 STORAGE 160GB Operating System:- Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1 Installed Memory (RAM): 2.00 GB System type: 32-bit Operating System
