i have bsnl broadband connection.whenever i tried to connect it through my win 7 it gives me error 651 with pppoe.. I am on a wired connection through a modem,..modem is workng well with win xp..but not with win 7.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have recently moved to Sky Broadband and I am experiencing difficulties regarding my wireless connection.
The device in question is a Sony Vaio FW56E (Windows 7, home premium , 64 bit). I initially contacted Sky regarding the connection but as all my other wireless devices (Blu Ray, Ipod, Vista notebook) connect without any issues they could not help.Sky have confirmed that it is not a fault with the Router and that it must be a software/hardware issue with my Vaio.
My Vaio is connecting to the Sky network but I cannot actually access the internet. I have checked all the settings and checked my wireless password. I have also looked into my firewall settings and tried to connect with windows firewall disabled.
Listed below are all the steps I have taken to try and resolve this issue.
Reset the Rouer
Removed the Sky network and reconnected again.
Checked that the wireless is actually enabled.
Changed the wireless channel several times.
Updated the VAIO via windows update using the Ethernet.
Reset the router.
If it is of any use the Rouer Sky provided is a Sagecom F@ST2504n.
Thought about time I asked the experts on this problem I've had for some time.I can be quite happily surfing the net and then if I try to go to a different site I get the message"Looking up www.xyz" where XYZ is the site I want to go to.I have had this problem for months well longer really. The problem is solved with a reset of the router, Now it happens across different routers so I discounted them.I though then it was my internet connection so carried on with a reset of the router.I have recently purchased an internet radio and the odd thing is it carrys on playing music proving my broadband connection is still there.The same happens with IE or Firefox.I am at a loss where to point the finger of blame.

anyway, after charging it up and turning it on, i started to install programmes and other bits and bobs. e.g ituens, flash player. just the usual essentials. i used the laptop to watch videos on Internet, genenral browing such as facebook, so in short, the internet was working fine. just before i went to bed that night i installed avg security (free version) and ran a full scan. when the scan finished, i put the laptop into hibernate, and went to sleep! happy in the knowledge my new gizmo was running smoothly!
just before i woke up i heard the laptop turn off as it had run out of charge. so i plugged it in and charged it up, then turned it on. this is where the problem starts...i connected via wifi however the logo at the bottom right of the screen showed the signal strength meter on empty, with a yellow star covering it. i clicked the icon, and it said, 'not connected, connections are available' and below shows im connected with 5/5 signal strength, but on 'limited access'.
1) there might be a problem with the driver for the local area connection adapter
2)there might be a problem with the driver for the wireless network connection adapter
there are 28 updates, but im unable to update them as i have no internet connection. i also cant connect via the ethernet cable.i cant roll back the drivers as there are no previously installed ones, and i cant update them as i am already up to date.my other laptop (acer aspire 5630 running on vista) works perfectly fine using wifi and the ethernet cable, so i honestly dont know whats wrong. after reading things on my acer about ways to fix the problem i came to the decision to restore the laptop to the time of my first installation which was adobe flash player (which i installed the day before.) i was unable to do a full factory reset as the only options available are to either restore to a backup, or re-install windows (which requires a disc, which i dont have). i also didnt configure a backup as i had only had the laptop a day!
I have been having problems with my new computer running Win7 Ultimate and have had to do an upgrade install. Now IE8 and Incredimail are unable to connect to the internet although Norton, Windows, System Mechanic, etc.,can all download updates

I want to do some things on my sisters' laptop which is in other country. Here is the situation:
My computer has Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) installed and I am using ADSL internet connection.
My sister lives far away in UK and her lap-top is connected to internet using the wireless. Window 7 ultimate is installed at her computer too.
Since I am complete beginner, please provide me step by step tutorial. I have tried a lot of tutorials that i have found on the web, but with no success.
when I wire it into a router, there's no internet connection.Tried different ethernet cable, different router port.Still same.Fails when I ping the router (192.168.x.x), but can ping local loop (127.0.0.1)Windows shows the ethernet card as working.Disabled / re-enabled interface. No joy.No obvious mis-configuration in internet options.Wireless is OK.Scanned for viruses (ESET). All cleanStandard Windows Firewall in place. ipconfig/all shows no IP address allocated, no DNS server, no default gateway etc.

I've been having connectivity issues with the internet, and it doesn't seem to be related to the router, as the same issue happens on different wireless networks. The majority of the time when I wake up my computer from sleep, it won't be automatically connecting to my home network, even though it's set to. When I try and connect, it does the whole "windows is taking an unusually long time to connect" deal. To solve it I usually go through troubleshoot. It doesn't find any problems (other than Hamachi IP issue, but this problem persisted before I downloaded Hamachi, and it doesn't seem to affect anything). Once troubleshoot finishes, it's usually about a minute or two later when it magically connects. Sometimes the internet disconnects right in the middle of me doing something, and to solve this I usually turn the switch on the front to turn off all wireless, wait a few seconds and turn it back on, and this usually solves the problem, for the time being.

But after moving my computer to a new room the Internet connection stopped working. View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently got Windows 7 on one of my desktops. I plugged in my Logitech 5.1 speaker system and I am getting absolutely nothing out of them. I went through the obvious checks (not muted). I was then searching my computer for evidence of the speakers even being recognized, and as far as I can tell they are not. I have Realtek High Definition Audio, and I've tried disabling/enabling this several times accompanied with a couple restarts of the computer.I understand I may need to update my drivers but at this point I'm unable to connect to the internet (Will have access in a couple days). I have searched this problem on my other computers and I'm getting mixed answers. I am trying to find out how to keep my Broadband connection active when I switch users. I have 4 accts. on my computer, one for each family member. Whenever I switch accts, my Broadband connection shuts down. You can start it up again after the switch with no problem. I would prefer, however, to have it stay connected during the switch, as this would just make my life easier. For instance all users connect to the same torrent software, and I have the files for it synced. So, no matter who is logged in, the torrent info is the same. When the connection drops, the torrent software has to reload all the DHT info. I have googled this, to no avail. I assume it is a matter of where the BB Modem Drivers are installed? Or maybe a Registry tweak.

1. Checked the sharing option in wireless lan.
2.Checked the option sharing in broadband connection in laptop windows7.
3.Changed the properties of the local area connection in PC to ip address as 192.168.2.2 (where windows7 laptop ip address is 192.168.2.1) and subnet mask as 255.255.255.0 And leave other as blank still it is not connecting to internet.
I am unable to connect to the internet in wireless mode. It shows the available networks, but does not connect when I type in my router password. I have tried everything I know of. Uninstalled/Reinstalled the driver - I have an Intel 5100 AGN wireless driver installed. I disabled and enabled it. Didn't work. The internet connection is my dads, he lives in the garage beside me. He's with talk-talk fibre optic. The small modem type thing that connects is in the garage along with the main router that connects to the small thing, not sure what this is but it obviously connects to the fibre optic.His PC is connected to the router by wire, there is then a wire that runs from that router up through the garage and into the house through the wall in one of the bedrooms, this is were I have a router or two, (i've tried two routers with mixed results.) Now this morning after leaving my computer on all night, i woke up and it wasn't connected. Although this happens everyday when i turn my laptop on, i have to connect via wireless to the main router in the garage, then reconnect to the router up stairs to get the connection to come on. This time round it wont work at all. The netgear gives me - "Windows Networking TroubleShoot Error: The connection between your access point, router, or cable modem and the internet is broken."
