I downloaded and attempted to install 4.0.4-744019 and encountered an error stating that some files could not be found, Does anyone have any idea where I could get the installation package for VMware player 4.0.2-28060? View 1 Replies View Relatedi am trying to install nt 4.0 in vmware player with windows 7 home 64 bit system as host. while installing i receive a message during the nt setup that states, "setup has determined thay your computers startup hard disk is new, or have been erased, or that an operating system is installed on your computer with which windows nt cannot coexist".it goes on to state that "continuing may damage or destroy the existing operating system." it continues "if your hard drive is new or has been erased or you want to discard its current content press enter to continue setup."is this a normal message? i saw a Internet video showing the install of nt 4.0 and did not see the author getting this message. my concern is damaging my host os(windows 7) by continuing with the installation.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using vmware player for just a few weeks and have had no problem with network connection up until last week when I did some changes (Windows e-activation and removals using 'Hijack This'. I have obviously deleted lots of stuff I am not suppose to delete as I have had nothing but pc problems ever since. My host machine is Windows XP SP3 Guest OS is Scientific Linux When I go to verify which processes are running it only shows vmnat.exe running but not vmnetdhcp.exe so I try to see if I can install vmnetdhcp.exe but get the pop-up window message "DllRegisterServer entry point was not found".

I'm thinking maybe since I didn't set up a password with the installation of my guest Win 7 VM..hmm.
I'm about to install Windows 8 preview in a virtual environment (VM ware player). Am I correct if I suppose that no traces are being left within Window 7 if I do so and if I uninstall Windows 8 from within VM ware player at a later time? Is there anything special to be considered?

View 1 Replies View RelatedA couple of months ago, I bought a new graphics card: a Nvidia 560GTX (Gigabyte GV-NV56GOC) and a new PSU (Corsair CX500 V2 Builder Series, 500 W) to run it and after 3 weeks the PC began to fail with the 116 error.At the begining it crashed only at Windows 7 blue starting screen (after the loading screen with win logo and a progress bar). It happened once every 4 or 5 days.After a month it was almost imposible to run unless starting in "FailSafe Mode" and began to crash in the desktop in idle. I tested it with another drivers, clean installs, changing cabes, etc... and nothing worked, only with another graphics card (an old nvidia 220GT wich came with the PC) and worked properly so I decided so send the card in RMA.
A couple of days ago the seller sent me an email saying that they couldn't find any issue with the 560GTX and they sent the card to Gigabyte to further testing (I wil have to wait 20-30 days to have more info). Yesterday my PC with the old card (the 220GT) began to fail while playing Skyrim with a grey screen and a strange buzz in the speakers. After 2 seconds it restarts saying that there was an system error bccode 116. Today it has crashed 4 times in 5 hours while playing (same as yesterday), "youtubbing" or (I think, but not sure than) in idle with a white screen and a strange buzz in the speakers, but not starting like with the 560GTX.
I had to change my HDD a month ago too so I tested in 2 diferent HDDs, drivers are OK and I guess that the PSU is enough for the new card and more than enough with the old one. I also ran sfc.exe /scannow witho no problems.I'm running Windows Home Premium x64 (Service Pack 1) OEM, reinstalled one or 2 months ago. I will attach minidump files with errors of both cards.
I am planning to go for a laptop but heard that eclipse is not compatible with windows7 64-bit version. Can anybody please check and help me asap.

Also when I tried to open skydrive that wouldn't work either. I tried to open windows media player today and that wouldn't open either. I can use firefox that works ok and vlc player but anything to do with windows will not work. The only thing new i put on my laptop was zune for my new Samsung Omina 7 phone. However internet explorer was not working prior to this.

About 2 weeks after I installed a new piece of hardware (an ATI TV Wonder 650 pcie to be precise) my keyboard started acting funny. Sometimes it would randomly turn off. Other times it would randomly type slashes. After about 2 days of that I started getting blue screens when using flash player. Things gradually got worse until I couldn't even access a file without a blue screen. Throughout that time I attempted to figure out the problem, but couldn't.
Today I finally reinstalled Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Things were going rather well, except that windows was having trouble recognizing the tv tuner card, but everything was running well regardless. I left the house with my computer running for about an hour and when I returned my computer had blue-screened and restarted itself. I took out the tuner card hoping it was the problem, but a while later the computer again blue screened while doing a restart.
BSOD while I was watching a movie using windows media player and had a few Google Chrome tabs open. This has happened several times already with no apparent pattern. Built my system at the end of 2010, added the GPU 2 months ago. Has been happening before and after the addition.

Code: Windows 7 Ultimate x32 OEM I reformatted it a month ago so i thought it would be fix but its still not fixed... I also thought it would be the heat or the usage of memory but i still haven't found what the problem is i keep getting random BSOD's about usbport.sys and other but i get more error codes....
I get this BSOD when i update my software and windows.I'm with windows 7 service pack 1, toshiba's laptop suddenly, my laptop usually get BSOD like play music or video with any other media file, accessing internet, startup, or even make a data with ms. office.

According to my oppinion WMP11 was quite better in handling.
Now in WMP11 we have 2 main views, as the Library mode and as the player mode, and some skin modes.
Well in player mode everything was fine, I had some reactions for it but I finaly managed to settle down with it.
After some days of usage WMP became "Ghostly". It lost its background image, and it lost it blue faded corners.
Now my WMP looks like an unseccesefull plastic surgery.
Watch by yourselves.
I thought that it would dissapear, but later I found out that it is permanent.
Anyone faced this? Anyone knows how to face this?
There also was an option to RIP CD when I had no CD in my drive. But after some days it was gone.
I hope they make WMP better in handling.
I am having a problem with burning my movie I made using Windows live movie maker.I was so proud of myself,,made a movie with pictures from my sons variety show atchool along with some of the videos I took using my new Sony Bloogie video camera. When I clicked on burn to DVD it wanted me to save my moive to my files,and how I wanted to save it,,I clicked "with a CD/DVD player,which I did,then from there I went to my computer,clicked on my DVD RW drive (D),dragged the movie I wanted to burn,didn't take long. But it doesn't play on my DVD Player, it shows up as an error,,but does play on my laptop,,which is where I burned it on and so forth

This started happening last night while i was playing Borderlands 2, it has happened at idle, playing just about any game in my library, during downloads and just browsing the web. I changed all of my accessible drivers, and it continued to happen, so i moved all of my personal files onto my external HDD. I re installed windows on my SSD (did not reformat) and reformatted my HDD. I re installed my drivers, re-enabled SLI and it ran fine for about an hour, just downloading WoW, and then happened again twice.

I am using Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit system and have no problems with anything else. When the download from CNET ended, I got an error msg. saying the download failed. So, I opened up VLC Player, checked for updates, got the notice that a major update was available and downloaded it. When the download completed, VLC Player crashed and asked if I wanted to send in a crash report. I clicked on "Yes" and immediately got a new popup window saying that it failed to reach the FTP server.
