View 1 Replies View Relatedi am back again with a problem, actually not a problem. how to enable my laptop speakers and headphones at the same time. I mean both should make sound simultaneously.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIn win7 64 (desktop) I can't enable speakers and headphones to work simultaneously: it's one or the other (very annoying). (IDT Audio drivers ok) In Vista they worked perfectly together.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell XPS M1330 laptop and have recently upgraded to windows 7 professional (32bit) from windows vista. Everything seems to be running smoothly except I can get no sound from the internal laptop speakers. When I plug in external speakers in via the jacks on the front, sound comes through fine, but as soon as I unplug them there is nothing. Headphones also work like this too. Under sounds in device manager, it simply says 'High Definition Audio Device', and I'm not sure if I should be downloading some other drivers?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Creative SB X-Fi Xtreme PCI-Ex, and Logitech Z-5500 5.1 THX speakers. All speakers work; all software, drivers and codecs are up-to-date. Recently I noticed that in the Speaker Setup screen, the test button only results in sound from the left and right front speakers.
I checked because after a VLC update, mkv files no longer played correctly in the 5.1 mode. Music played, but the voices were muted (while no speakers are muted, and all are connected). I have to select "2 front, 2 rear" Audio Device in order to hear the speech as well.
I have the same problem when playing movies in PowerDVD, where I have to select the 2-speakers setting in order to hear all the sound.
Note:
- Previously the test button did sound all 5 speakers
- The test button on the Logitech remote still sounds all 5 speakers
I have Windows 7 Professional, 32 bit.
only my front left and sub and main speaker work and if i put the cords in a different hole then only one will work and i got all of the in the right colour coded hole i have tride everything WHAT DO I DO!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble with my very new computer (Lenovo Y480 with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit), which I've narrowed down to the following sequence:
1. I restored computer to original factory settings (to rule out possible causes)
2. I ran msconfig, and checked the boxes 'Safe Mode' and 'Networking.' I got the following error message:"System configuration cannot save the original boot configuration for later restoration. Boot changes will be reverted. The system cannot find the file specified"
3. The default boot option disappeared from the boot menu (Windows 7, default OS, current OS).
4. When I restarted my computer, it would not boot and gave me the error 0xc00034, stating that the file BootBCD was missing.
I did not do anything else with my computer after restoring the factory settings, and I did not connect to the internet. I originally encountered the problem when I wanted to try installing Windows updates in safe mode after some of the installations failed. I have replicated the error several times, including after successfully installing all Windows updates.

View 1 Replies View RelatedUpgraded to 7 two days ago and cannot get anything out of them. Diagnostics tells me they are working and all drivers are up to date. I have tried designating them as default device and no sound comes out of the computer at all.
When I designate the internal speakers as default and then plug in the usb speakers, the internal speakers continue to work but nothing comes out of the usb speakers. Does anyone know if these are just incompatible with 7 or am I doing something wrong..
I have a new Dell E6520 running Enterprise 64bit. I need the virtual XP to run some older software. Following the instructions, I successfully installed Windows XP modeNext step is to install Virtual PC. The installation of KB958559 appeared successful, but when I restarted the computer it got to about 95% and reported configuration failure.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI put the XP disk in to have a look at the partitions before deleting them, but found the partition screen was confusing. My query is as follows:
2)There are 2 HDDs in the PC. When I got the PC, it had one Seagate HDD - W7 appeared in Windows on the C: drive and I placed applications there. Immediately afterwards I added a 2nd Hitachi HDD to hold data only, creating a single volume on it called G: data drive. This all seemed to be working fine until this current problem.
3) So, I thought I would see a C: system partition, or maybe a 100MB system reserve C: and another lettered part of that partition, and the G: partition/volume for data files (on the second HDD). However, what I saw on the partition screen via the XP installation disk was this:
476938 MB Disk 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on atapi [MBR] D: Partition1 (System Rese) [NTFS] 100 MB ( 75 MB free)
E: Partition2 [NTFS] 476838 MB ( 419213 MB free) 476938 MB Disk 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on atapi [MBR] C: Partition1 (data drive) [NTFS] 476937 MB ( 383546 MB free)
4) In the CMOS Features screen in the BIOS setup, the HDDs were configured like this (extract):
IDE Channel 0 Master [None]
IDE Channel 0 Slave [None]
IDE Channel 1 Master [Hitachi HDP725050GLA]
IDE Channel 1 Slave [None]
IDE Channel 2 Master [None]
IDE Channel 3 Master [None]
IDE Channel 4 Master [ST3500413AS]
IDE Channel 4 Slave [None]
IDE Channel 5 Master [Optiarc DVD RW AD-72]
The Hitachi HDD at channel 1 is the 2nd HDD, added by me after delivery to hold data files only, so I expected to see it below the Seagate HDD on this list.
5) Also, the Hitachi HDD was top of the Hard Disk Priority list on the BIOS Advanced screen. Again I would have expected to see the Seagate above the Hitachi in that list.
